All You Need Is Love

Time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. It's Color Week this week, and Sue is our host.

I am knee deep into Valentines right now, so I decided to go that route with my card. I arranged strips of varying sizes in reds, pinks and grays on a piece of white cardstock, trimmed it down, then die cut it with a scalloped edge die. I cut a heart in the center, created a shaker, and finished it off with a sentiment that is perfect for my Beatle-lovin' Valentine...

It's a new month, and we have a new Guest Designer, Denise Morgans. Please head on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see what Denise and the rest of the Design Team have made to spark your creativity. Come play with us!

Corny Thanksgiving

This card was made with a very special friend in mind... you know who you are!!!! She can be Kind Of Corny, and this card has her name all over it. She did receive it in the mail -  fashionably late but with most sincere wishes of thanks for our lovely friendship. Tis the season. I have made 2 Christmas cards so far... I am terrible at card sending.

The very funny thing about this card is, that my corny friend sent me a card made with the same stamp set. We have history here as you might guess. What a wonderful surprise it was to open her card just now. Same stamp set. Same oval hemstitch die.  I just love it! I was just waiting for her to receive mine before I posted this one. We both had a good laugh over this.

Happy Christmas

Less Is More #469 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card using traditional Christmas Colors.

To create my card, I stamped the Mistletoe & Holly image from the CAS-ual Fridays stamp set of the same name. I colored it with Copics and Wink Of Stella. I die cut the bow in red glitter paper from the matching dies and glued it to the image. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Friends Never Judge Each Other...

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by National Best Friends Day, which takes place on June 8th.
The challenge runs from May 27th - June 6th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I dug deep into my stash and pulled out the "Girlfriends" stamp and sentiment from Art Impressions that I have never inked, though I have owned it forever! These friends are perfect for this festivity. I colored the "girls" with Copics, framed them with one of the Pink Fresh Studio Stitched Scallop Rectangles, popped up that panel with fun foam on a kraft card base, and my card was complete.

I used feminine, pink, and friendship sentiment from the inspo list.

For more inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the  Festive Friday Challenge Design team.

Doodlie Doo

Time for a new challenge at Less Is More.

I must say that for some reason, this one threw me. Like so many, I have doodled my way through many a business or faculty meeting. I find it relaxing. But doodling on a DT card just scared me a little. So I went with the safety doodle above. Yep, my big doodle creation was a string for Christmas Lights. The rest of the card was perfectly die cut and stamped. Done. I used  Paper Smooches Holiday Lights Dies, and Joyful Greetings Stamps. I was not completely happy with my doodled light string because my hand shook a little, but doodle I did.

~~THEN~~

I was commenting on Challenge entries, and I came upon THIS post by Billie A. She made these wonderful cards and entered them at Time Out. I was intrigued with the technique she used. Billie referenced Creations Cee Cee. I went to You Tube and looked her up. Guess what?? Cee Cee is a major doodler!!! She is also an incredible watercolor artist. So I watched THIS video and followed along to create my own CASEd design using many of her tips and details. The final result was the card above. I LOVE this doodle thing. I can see many more doodles in my future! Thanks Billie, and thank you Cee Cee. I will be watching and learning more soon!

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Grieving With You

I was looking through my list of challenge blogs today, and saw the colors for CAS On Friday.
I love them, and immediately went to work using other inspiration from other challenges to create this sympathy card. I completed the card, and then it hit me! By my definition, the card I created is NOT a CAS card. Too much patterned space! Ugh. Still, I really love the way it turned out and though I am not entering it in the CAS On Friday challenge, there is plenty of inspiration from other places where it fits.

Supplies:
Paper: Neenah Solar White 110# and 80#, Patterned paper that came as a gift in a stamp order.
Stamps: Altenew Flower Arrangement
Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, PTI Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Ocean Tides, Lemon Tart, Harvest Gold.
Accessories: Altenew Flower Arrangement Dies, MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edge Dies.
