Happy Christmas

Less Is More #457 begins today. We are challenged to create a CAS card inspired by this photo.

I took my inspiration from the corrugated kraft packaging of the gifts and the twine bows. I meant to emboss the outer square with MFT's Square Peek-A-Boo die, but I think I overdid it on the shamming. That's OK, I used the panel as is and die cut the edges with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle die. The gift box and holly die cuts are from Waffleflower's Special Delivery (retired) stamps & dies. I sponged the corrugated "box" with some VersaFine Vintage Sepia ink and colored the holly with Copics. The sentiment is from Simon Say Stamp Tiny Words Christmas.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Merci

I finally got a chance to play in my craft room and am making some cards for challenges other than DT projects. How wonderful. I am screaming in at the last moment with an inchie card for AAA #203. I simply cut a one inch square, added a tiny sentiment from SSS Thankful Heart, sponged the edges with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and added a die cut leaf from Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves. Both the square and leaf are popped up with foam tape.

Christmas Jumper Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Today's festivities are inspired by Christmas Jumper Day, which takes place on December 10th. The challenge runs from November 12th - November 22nd.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. When I looked at the festivity for this challenge, Hero Arts' Holiday Sweater die came to mind immediately. I die cut in it red, and added a green glitter tree and a gold star to adorn it. I mounted it on a white layer embossed with Stampin Up's Cable Knit EF. I mounted that on a base layer of Neenah Solar White 110# card stock. I added a few glittery snowflakes and a sentiment from Hero Arts taken from the movie Home Alone, which is a must see holiday tradition in my house. My boys and I watched it last night, and it seemed very fitting for this card.

I used jumper, red, green and glitter from the inspo list.
Supplies:
Stamps: Hero Arts Off-Beat Holiday Messages.
Dies: Hero Arts Christmas Sweater die set.
Paper: Neenah Solar White 80# & 110#, Memory Box Fairy Sugar Glitter Paper Pad, red, green & gold glitter paper scraps.
Accessories: Brutus Monroe Alabaster White embossing powder, .SU Cable Knit Embossing Folder.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Thankful For You

Less Is More #456 begins today. We are challenged to create a CAS card using a silhouette.

Joining us for this challenge we have the very talented Asa J who was our overall September winner. Welcome Asa! Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration. You'll be so glad you did!

To create my card, I used a Neenah Solar White 110# card base. I masked a panel of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock and blended Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks. After letting it dry, I stamped and heat embossed an image from Simon Says Stamp Wildflowers Silhouette stamp set. My sentiment is cut from SSS Gratitude Sentiment Strips with Pink & Main Sentiment Strip Dies and popped up with foam tape.

Bright & Merry

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Today's festivities are inspired by National Cookie Day, which takes place on December 4th. The challenge runs from November 12th - November 22nd.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. This time I decided to go with a shaker card. I used the gingerbread house and cookie from my never-before-used Hero Arts In For The Holidays stamp and die sets, which put me in mind of holiday cookie baking. I created my shaker window with Pretty Pink Posh's Hi Shaker Die cut from white glitter paper and inlaid on a piece of Real Red card stock that I had stamped tone on tone with Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Prints. I mounted the red panel on a kraft card base, heat embossed the sentiment, added a bit of twine and my card was complete.

I used cookie, brown, texture, shaker and frame from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

When considering a design for my challenge card, the word "precious" immediately brought a (this) mother's love to mind. I love this wonderful image from Paper Smooches A Little Lovin' and went right for it. I stamped it and colored it with Copics. The clouds in the background are from the Cloud Edger Stencil from It's a Colorful Life Designs. I framed it with Spellbinders Hemstitch Circle dies. The background is done with Stampin Up's Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, and the sentiment is from The Gray Muse You Grow Girl.

I am certain this card will be going to one of my boys in the not too distant future.

All The Treats

I am so excited to be here with my Guest Designer project for Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, where it's always anything goes - Halloween.

Here is the November mood board for some inspiration.

To create my card, I blended Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot Distress Oxide inks on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock. After it dried, I spattered it with water, and after that dried, with Mr. Huey's Opaque White Color Mist. I used the Essentials By Ellen Birch Trees Cover Plate and Ebony Black Cardstock to die cut the trees and ground and affixed it to the blended panel. I stamped, Copic colored and die cut several images from Bear Ware 2 & 5 and arranged them in a Halloween scene. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips Halloween die cut with Pink & Main Sentiment Strip Dies and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge and check out the wonderful Design Team Creations. This is such a fun challenge where it is all Halloween all the time! Also check out the winners the and honorable mentions from October in the the November 1st post - so much great inspiration there too! Thanks so much Darlene and Diane for the opportunity to design for Two Old Bats! I had a great time making this card!
