Peaceful Christmas

This card is so much prettier IRL. As I have mentioned, having big photography issues. The tree is embossed with silver EP, and it looks gorgeous on the panel with the pink and blue distress inks. I die cut "peace" from Winnie & Walter four times and stacked it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I love to read you comments. Have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas Wreath

This card is totally inspired by the current Time Out Challenge inspiration photo. As you can see, I took it quite literally.

I am really struggling with photos lately because the light at this time of year is so difficult for indoor photography (with an iPhone LOL), and it's very hard to get the colors right.  My "door" is really brown, and it is made from a Pretty Pink Posh die that has 4 stitched squares in the middle that really reminded me of the door in the picture. Anyway, I used all sorts of different things from different companies: PTI, Paper Smooches, Pretty Pink Posh, Martha Stewart... It was really fun putting it together.

I am also sending this over to the Simon Says Monday Challenge where the theme this week is : Holly Jolly Stamping. Create a Christmas project.

I am trying to take it easy with the season, and enjoy it and keep the best and most important parts of it front and center. Thanks so much for coming by. As always, I appreciate your comments so much. Have a wonderful day.

Joy To The World

The new game is up at AAA Cards Challenge Blog. The theme this time is "Silent Night, Holy Night Christmas Cards". Paper Smooches "A Blessed Christmas" came to mind immediately when I though about a design. I love the cityscape 1 die, and decided to pair it with an interesting sky in celebration of that holy night. I used Paper Smooches Power Rays die behind the cityscape silhouette and inked each piece with distress inks. I heat embossed the star, but it came out with cracks in it because of the way it sat on the rays, so I had to make another one, cut it out and lay it on top. It was tough to get the points cut properly, so don't look too close.  LOL. I mounted my little scene on a piece of white sparkle paper to give it a little zip.  I like the way it looks though you really can't see it in the picture.

Please head on over to AAA Cards and see what my fellow DT members have come up with for this challenge, leave them a little love and be inspired to create your own beauty. From here, I am linking my card to the following Challenges:

Making Spirits Bright

Time again for a new challenge over at the AAA Cards Challenge Blog.  This week the theme is Anything Goes - and as in most AAA games, your project needs to be CAS. Here is my take:

I had a very hard time with the photo. Lighting never seemed to cooperate. The card base is bright white. Anyway, I went with a glittered Pretty Pink Posh die cut triple frame, and some Paper Smooches images and sentiment. Finished off with some black and white twine. Fun!

Time is flying and I have to get cooking for Thanksgiving. Christmas is speeding up right behind. Wishing you a beautiful holiday season, whatever your celebration entails. I am grateful for your visits and your comments.  Have a great day!

Gratitude

I love this season of thanks and giving. This card is for the amazing woman who helps my sisters and I care for our mother.  I can't thank her enough for the loving care she gives my mother and the comfort and peace she brings to the family. I used CAS(E) this sketch #149 for my layout.  The top panel is watercolored (Just Us Girls #319), and the Ginko leaves are embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum EP (CAS-ual Fridays CFC145).

Enjoy Thanksgiving

Time for another AAA Cards Challenge.  The theme of Game #52 is Thanks and/or Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday here in the US, bar none.  I love gathering with friends and family, sharing food and stories and having the house smell wonderful from all the cooking and baking.  It can be a hard day too for many, and I always keep that in mind with a heart full of gratitude for my many blessings.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I have a Thanksgiving themed set of images on fabric from Crafty Secrets that I have had forever.  This one is quite comical.  I cut it out and adhered it to a die cut stitched square which is popped up with foam tape on the base. There is a tiny bit of blue in the image that matches the twine, so I went for it.  I stenciled some spatters with Antique Linen DI on the base. The sentiment is an old Hero Arts wood mounted stamp.  I embossed the image in copper, though I kind of wish I used a darker hue.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Please head over to the AAA Cards Challenge blog and see what the DT has created.  Then get your craft on, and link up your Thanks and Thanksgiving creation there.

Halloween Tag

Sunday mornings, I usually run through all of the challenge blogs I visit to see what fantastic creations are out there. I really love the tag that wonderful and talented Kara Lynne Pogreba created this week Tag You're It Challenge #33, and I was inspired to play along. Here is Kara Lynne's tag:

The PP on the right reminded me of the tag image in PTI's Tiny Treats Halloween set. I stamped the tag image twice with VersaMark and embossed in black. I cut the circle out and colored the tiny candy corn image and also colored some random dots on the tag. I placed some ribbon on the left to give it some interest, and there you have it.

I am going to link up at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog where this week's challenge is "Wrap It Up".

This is another project that works well for both elements of the Friday Mash Up Challenge: Halloween and Ribbon, so I going to link up there again.

This week's Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project for Halloween.
  • Create a project featuring some Ribbon.
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project for Halloween with some Ribbon.

Thanks so much for stopping by today for a look. As always, I really appreciate your comments. It's great to have feedback. Have a wonderful day.

Crazy Halloween

It's time for a new AAA Cards Challenge. Game #51 is Halloween 4 Everyone - All styles.

I just love these Stampers Anonymous Crazy Birds that are everywhere. I've had them for a while, and finally inked them up for this challenge.  This is a bit of a departure from my style of late, but I really love the way this one turned out.

Creepy Crawly Sparkly Trick Or Treat

Still in Halloween Mode - I pulled out my spider web EF,  Martha Stewart Spider Punch, black glitter paper, MFT Stitched Flag Dies, PTI Tricky Trio dies, Orange Stickles and Halloween twine... put them all together and this is what came out!

I am linking this card to the following challenges:

Cards In Envy - CREEPY CRAWLIES challenge.  Make an A2 card that is flat enough to fit in an envelope featuring things that are creepy & crawly--spiders, bugs, snakes etc. That spider is creepy and crawly!

Addicted TO CAS #74 - my sparkly spider and orange stickles fit the bill for this CAS creation.

Thanks of coming by today!!

Trick Or Treat

When I saw Freshly Made Sketch #207, I immediately thought of the Pretty Pink Posh Storybook 1 die that I recently purchased. It is shaped just like the sketch, though it has different dimensions.  I stamped a medley of Halloween themed images in the windows. The pumpkin, bat and spider are from an old SU set from 2007 that has long been retired. To add a little something else, I stamped some stars from Winnie & Walter's Big Bang Confetti with Tsukineko Delicata Golden Glitz  ink.  I cut and inlaid the sentiment from PTI's Tricky Trio, added a little twine and voila!  I love to make Halloween cards, and we have 4 "littles" in the family between 4 weeks and 4 years of age that I will be sending them to!

Always On My Mind

When I saw This week's Muse inspiration by Anita Bowden  for Muse Challenge #134 over at the Muse Challenge Blog,  I thought - vellum. There is no vellum on Anita's card, but that where my mind went. I used the color scheme of Color Throwdown #361, and applied green and yellow paint to wet watercolor paper for the background.  I embossed PTI' s Year of Flowers: Mums images with white EP on vellum and adhered that vellum panel onto the watercolored panel with a black card base. The sentiment is from the same collection, embossed in white on an MFT stitched flag die cut. I used twine instead of thread, though I am debating whether to change that.

It was so nice to be able to get 2 cards in this weekend.  Work and family is keeping me hopping, and have not been able to get to visiting my blog buddies very much. Hopefully I can get to some of that later.  Thank you for stopping in today.  Have a great day!

Halloween Word Play

The theme for the new challenge at AAA Cards Challenge is "Word Play" - use mostly words on your project. This immediately made me think of the Subway Series: Holidays stamps from Fresh Squeezed Stamps that I have had in my Autumn holiday stash for a few years. I blended some distress inks on a stitched rectangular panel of watercolor paper and embossed it with some Ranger Black Sparkle EP.  The spider and web side panel are cut from black glitter paper with Martha Stewart punches - also found deeply placed in my Autumn holiday stash.
