Puppy Hugs

Time Out #210 begins today, It's an Inspired By Words challenge where the inspiration words are "happiness is a warm puppy." The challenge runs from Thursday, March 24th to Wednesday, April 6th. We are generously sponsored by Newon's Nook.

Challenge winner as chosen by our Design Team will receive $25.00 in Newton'a Nook store credit. In addition, our winner will be eligible for a guest designer spot in a future Time Out challenge.

We welcome AsaJ of scrapat helt enkelt and winner of Time Out Challenge #206 as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Asa is a super talented paper crafter with a CAS style and mad coloring skills. Her blog is so inspiring. Go take a look and leave her some love!

For my card I used a stamp set that has been in my stash forever - Friends Furever by MFT. I colored the main image with Copics and fussy cut it out. I had a heat embossed background panel in my snippets box that I made with CASual Fridays Heart To Heart background stamp that I die cut with a SSS dome die. I popped the background up with fun foam and adhered it to a kraft card case. I popped up the image with foam tape, added an embossed sentiment and my card was complete.

Party Time!

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by World Party Day, which takes place on April 3rd. The challenge runs from March 18th to March 28th.

I just had to add the following here, as it is the most perfect time in our world for this:

The inspiration for World Party Day stems from a novel entitled, “Flight: A Quantum Fiction Novel” written by American author, Vanna Bonta. Published in 1995, the novel ends with — spoiler alert — a big party. Actually, it ends with a synchronized worldwide celebration that takes place on April 3. In real life, groups of people found each other sharing the same goals of peace and the want to utilize human intelligence and resources toward global humanitarian progress. Bringing together people in the name of social change, it became a worldwide phenomenon involving millions of people, corporations, and organizations working together to contribute positively to the future of the earth and humanity.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I used Catherine Pooler's Ocean Chums stamps and dies and colored them with Copics. The jelly is brushed with clear Wink Of Stella. I popped the die cuts up and placed them on an embossed panel (I don't know the name) which I framed with the beautiful Pinkfresh stitched scallop rectangles that I received as a gift from a dear friend. I adhered the top panel to the card base using fun foam and my card was complete.
I used sparkle, bright colors, celebratory sentiment and layers from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

For the People of Ukraine

Color Hues has a special challenge going on, and I am so gad I finally had the chance to play before it closes. The idea came from Linda Eterno over at The Share Handmade Kindness FB page. She suggested that we, as a card making community, flood the internet with cards in support of the people of Ukraine. As part of this challenge, we are asked to send our cards to someone. This one will go to my niece. It is perfect for her at this particular time in our family. She is all these things and more.

Daring Cardmakers is asking our community to show support for the people of Ukraine by filling the crafting world with
Sunflowers, Blue, Yellow and HOPE.

Modsquad Challenge  is also hosting a challenge - Standing With Ukraine where you must use the colors of the Ukrainian flag. Sunflowers are optional. but blue and yellow are required.

Supplies
Stamps: STAMPlorations Fierce and Brave
Dies: MFT Grande Greenery-solid, Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Less Is More #460 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card with a bit of bling.

I need some St. Patrick's day cards so I went there. I stamped, colored and die cut this adorable Leprechaun from Pretty Pink Posh's Best of Luck stamp set, popped him up with dimensionals, and added a sentiment from the same set. His jacket button and the center of the four leaf clover are tiny gold rhinestones for my bling. Hard to see. Here is a closeup...

That panel is die cut with a Nordic Frames Die from The Greetery. I added some clear drops, stamped and clear embossed the sentiment and my card was complete.

Share The Dirt

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by World Planting Day, which takes place on March 21st. The challenge runs from March 4th to March 14th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I immediately knew that I would use Paper Smooches Green Thumb stamps and dies. I created the sky with A Colorful Life Designs Cloud Edger Stencil and DO ink. I tore a piece of textured card stock for my dirt, then arranged die cut and fussy cut images from the stamp set to create my plant-themed scene. I love the sentiment!
I used neutrals, plants, green, wellington boots and stencils from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!
