Stencil Fun - July 2024

Beautiful Day

 

I had a delightful adventure last month where I met beloved crafty rock stars, made sushi, ate Cinnamon Churro ice cream and learned to BetterPress among many other wonderful things. I did not make this BetterPressed panel, but I did paint it. I am terrified of watercoloring, and this BetterPress watercoloring session made me feel better. I thought it would be fun to enter this particular floral birthday card at The Flower Challenge. I've got a ways to go, but it reminds me of lots of fun with wonderful people in a far off land (LOL). Can you guess where I was???

I am late to the party in breaking out my Waffle Flower Beach Day Postage Collage stamps and stencils. I just had to for this "summertime" challenge, because here in the northern hemisphere, Summer is in full swing. The beach is my favorite place to be, when the temps are below 100 degrees and the water is warm enough to swim in! Neither is the case at the moment. The ocean is oddly cold and the temps are insanely hot. Anyway. I had so much fun working on my collage. The seagulls crack me up and I love every detail in these waffle Flower supplies.

Your Friendship Lights Up My Heart

 

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we have a theme challenge - seeing stars.  You can interpret that in so many ways from celestial stars, rock stars, movie stars, constellations, moon & stars, stars on flags... the list goes on and on.  

Now, on to my card. I received a Betterpress System for my birthday and today is the first day I opened the box. I had some play time recently at the home of a dear friend where she taught me the Betterpress ropes. She also gifted me this wonderful press plate. I just LOVE it, and the giver. This card is made with her in mind. Thank you, friendy dear. Your friendship certainly does light up my heart! I inked the press plate with Betterpress Black Ink and fussy cut it so that I could mount it on this black panel that I stenciled with Lunar Paste. I sure do love that stuff!! I added a Betterpress sentiment from the same plate set, popped it up with a little foam strip and my card was complete!

Summer has arrived at The Four Seasons Challenge. It is our last Summer themed challenge for 2024. This fabulous mood board is there for your inspiration, but anything Summer goes.

I took my inspiration from the photo on the bottom right with the flamingoes. I went with flamingoes enjoying cocktail hour with what I imagine to be Cosmo Cocktails to match their lovely pink color. It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we have a photo challenge with a subject that is near and dear to my heart. You can take so many things for inspiration from this photo from the lighthouse, to colors, to ocean to rocks... I am a lighthouse, lover, so I chose a lighthouse theme. I have several stamps and dies that would work for this in my stash. I chose this one from Cottage Cuts to create my scene. I love the embossing folder I used in the background on heavy duty vellum. I am so happy with the way it turned out.
