All You Need Is Love

Time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. It's Color Week this week, and Sue is our host.

I am knee deep into Valentines right now, so I decided to go that route with my card. I arranged strips of varying sizes in reds, pinks and grays on a piece of white cardstock, trimmed it down, then die cut it with a scalloped edge die. I cut a heart in the center, created a shaker, and finished it off with a sentiment that is perfect for my Beatle-lovin' Valentine...

It's a new month, and we have a new Guest Designer, Denise Morgans. Please head on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see what Denise and the rest of the Design Team have made to spark your creativity. Come play with us!

Hello!

Hello! Hello! Hello! from the newest Design Team Member at Just Us Girls Challenge - ME! I am so excited to join this group of incredibly talented crafters in designing projects to inspire our wonderful players.

Please note that there are a few changes with the challenge logistics including the start and end day. You can read all about it HERE.

We begin our 2024 challenges with Color Week where the colors are teal, navy and green. We are joined by the lovely and talented Stef Perry of Perry Papercrafts as our January Guest Designer. You are probably already acquainted with Stef's work, but if you are not, you are in for a real treat! Well, you are in for a real treat, no matter what!

When I saw the colors for this challenge, I immediately thought of Stampin' Up's Urban Garden Designer Series Paper Pack I have had in my stash for years. I cut strips from these papers and from Taken With Teal solid cardstock in various widths and used Stick It to adhere the strips to a piece of white cardstock. I adhered the strip panel to a white card base. added the Waffle Flower sentiment die cut and my card was complete.

Please head on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations Stef and the Design Team has come up with to inspire you. Please join us in using this wonderful color combination for your project and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you create!

A Turkey Should Be Dressed!

Thanksgiving is by far, my favorite holiday. This year is a tough one, as it is the first since my sister's passing in December. I wanted to make a card for my nieces that would lift them but nothing goopy. The feast will be at the house they grew up in and I know emotions will run high.  I thought this was perfect.

Have a PAR-fect Day

Today is the start of CAS Week at Just Us Girls. It is also my last week to be with The JUGs Design Team as Guest Designer. What a wonderful group of crafters to work with! They have been so warm and welcoming and I have really enjoyed my time with them. Thank you all from the bottom of my art for having me!!

With regard to my card, though my stash seems as deep as the deep blue sea, it does not contain anything sports-oriented... well, that is not entirely true. There's that fabulous swimmer/diver die. Hmmmm - I forgot about her. Anyway, one of my sons has recently fallen in love with golf and his birthday is coming, so I decided to make my sports-themed card for him. Since I now know how to use them, I went in search of a golf-themed digital stamp. I found this little Golf Gnomie on Etsy at PinkGemDesigns, printed him out, colored him with Copics, then set him in a CAS design with a strip of Tartan Plaid paper. I made my  sentiment strip on my computer and popped up on the right side... and it's a wrap! Thanks so much for coming by today!

Now please head over the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see what the DT has created for your inspiration. Get sportive and creative and play with us!

Neverland

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out! For the next fortnight we challenge you to be Inspired by these words: "If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." ~ Albert Einstein.

We are generously sponsored by AALL & Create with a $20 Store Credit for the winner, and an offer to Guest Design with The Time Out Design Team for a future challenge.

We welcome Kim Heggins of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim as our Guest Designer. Kim is a former member of the Time Out Design Team, and we are thrilled to have her designing with us for this challenge.

I went with our sponsor's Peter Pan Stamp Set.  My idea was to fashion a hiding place for the lost boys using  a domed die cut and a woodgrain stamp.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Claire and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

You're So Cool!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. Challenge #240 is a theme challenge where we are challenged to be "sportive". I must say, that I had never heard of this word before, and so I had to Google to find a definition. It's a little hard to read on our badge, so here it is:

spor·tive1
adjective
  1. 1.
    playful; lighthearted.
"Sir John was in sportive mood"
    Similar:
    playful
    lively
    full of fun
    fun-loving
    high-spirited
    spirited
    in high spirits
    jolly
    merry
    lighthearted
    blithe
    gleeful
    frisky
    exuberant
    perky
    skittish
    sprightly
    coltish
    jaunty
    prankish
    frolicking
    romping
    capering
    full of beans
    frolicky
    frolicsome
    gamesome
    blithesome
    frolic
    wanton
    ludic
    Opposite:
    solemn
    staid
  2. 2.
relating to, interested in, or good at sport.
    "Britain's architectural and sportive heritage"

This offers us a lot of creative opportunity!

We are generously sponsored by Newton's Nook Designs. Winner will receive a $25 store credit and an invitation to Guest Design with Time Out for a future challenge.

We are joined by Carol McFarland of Saw it. Had to Make It. Carol is a very talented maker with such a great eye for color and design. I love Carol's work and am always inspired by it. Please treat yourself to a stroll through her blog and you will surely be inspired too!

I used Newton's Summer Treats stamps & Dies for my card. Newton is so playful, lively and spirited in whatever Newton does. I gave Newton a popsicle theme, but honestly, it's a bit too busy for my liking. I think the pop would have popped if I used a color for the background. Blue perhaps? I ran out of time so I went with it... Maybe I will make it again.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!
