Stargazer Birthday

When I saw the Color Hues Challenge colors, I immediately thought of Altenew's gorgeous Stargazer Lily layered stamp set. I got to work stamping 4 sets of flowers and leaves with my Altenew Stampwheel. I embossed a panel with Altenew's Simple Frame EF, arranged the flower and leaves on it and popped up that panel onto the card base. To finish, I stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from Altenew's Fresh Freesia. I love the way this turned out!

Best Day Ever

These gorgeous cone flowers are the result of my Altenew Stampwheel 101 class with Michele. Lots of Yays there. I used Altenew ink cubes for the flower petals and stems, and PTI inks for the flower centers. I love the way they look on kraft, and the embossed background is a lovely stage for them.

CAS Peonies -Thinking Of You

This card is a celebration of my first go with my new Altenew Stampwheel. It was a BD gift from my DH. I was a little dubious at first. I used what appeared to me to be an "easy to use" Altenew layering stamp set, and it turned out pretty well. I am usually pretty frustrated by layering stamps in terms of getting them lined up correctly. Lots of swearing usually involved. Sometimes tears. I watched Simon Hurley's review and demo, then I used to amazingly talented Michele Ferguson's tutorial with success. I will be posting another card soon with the results. I did let out a few "YAY's in the process. I am now ready to persevere.

Happy Thanksgiving

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Thanks".

For my background, I used Spellbinders Carved Tile Embossing Folder with SU More Mustard card stock. The corn, sentiment and sentiment banner are from Papertrey Ink's Kind Of Corny stamp set and dies. (Thank you, dear friend, for sending the die cuts.)  If anyone has this die set and want to sell it, please let me know!

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge? blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed (pun intended)! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Joyous Wishes

I just got this beautiful Altenew Mistletoe Wreath stamp, die, and stencil sets and the matching embossing folder. I made this card using the colors for Just Add Ink Challenge #628
and lo and behold, I missed the deadline! Oh well...

I really love the way it turned out using 2 shades of pink, 2 shades of turquoise and a dark purple. I foiled a greeting from Spellbinders in rose gold, and I also used the Detail Ringlet Plate from SSS to give the background a little texture.

Hey, Wasabi?

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out!!! Time Out Challenge #169 is a theme challenge in which the theme is "Season" with an optional twist of coloring. Many of us will immediately think of the four seasons of the year, but we can also season our food with herbs and spices, or become a seasoned (experienced) player or professional... there are many ways to go with this. It's always fun to see how artists interpret a theme.

We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps.

I really wanted to go in a different direction than seasons of the year with this one. I looked through my entire stash for something in the herbs and spices category, but did't really have anything like that. They I thought about the Essentials by Ellen Wasabi set and decided what I was going to do.

I combined the sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch #386 and the theme from Inspired By Challenge #IB138, and came up with my card. The idea is that sushi can be "seasoned" with soy sauce and wasabi and ginger, etc. That might be a little far out of the box, but that is the way I went. I was too late to enter my card in the Inspired By Challenge, but it was definitely part of my inspiration. I stamped, colored and die cut the images from Wasabi and arranged them on the diagonal on a panel that is embossed with the SU Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Some of the die cuts are popped up and some are not. I am so happy with the way it came out.

May Peace Fill Your Soul

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out!!! Time Out Challenge #166 - We challenge you to be PEACEFUL.

We are generously sponsored by Newton's Nook Designs. The challenge winner will receive a $25.00 store credit to spend in the Newton's Nook store.

Our Guest Designer is Sue of Sentimentally Sue, a wonderful designer whose creations are always so wonderful, fresh and creative. Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some awesome inspiration.

Now on to my card - nothing brings me more peace than the sea. I love to sit on the beach and watch the waves crashing and listen to the sounds of the sea's song to sooth my soul. It brings me joy and peace and happiness like nothing else. So for this challenge prompt, I chose to use this gorgeous WAVE layering stamp set from The Ton. I stamped the layers in three shades of blue on watercolor paper. I added a sentiment from PTI's Peaceful Garden, heat embossed it, popped it up and adhered it. I mounted the wave panel on SU Night Of Navy card stock, and my card was complete.
