us. friends. always.

Less Is More #474 starts today and ends on October 7th. We are challenged to create a Clean & Simple card with the theme of FRIENDSHIP.
I have had this wonderful Spellbinders die set for a long time, and finally used it. I have also had this wonderful sentiment from Impression Obsession for a long time. At long last, they both got some love. Perfect for this challenge.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

The Season Of Color

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Leaves".

My background is embossed with the SSS Fall Foliage EF, colored with various Distress Oxide Inks and mounted on brown card stock. I stamped my sentiment from Paper Smooches Fall Sampler stamp set on cream colored card stock with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and die cut it with Pinkfresh Studio Braided Circles. I die cut some leaves with Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies and tucked them around the sentiment circle, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge? blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed (pun intended)! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Always Lifting You Up

I am so excited to be here as a new Design Team Member for Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is flowers.

To create my card, I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder that I have had in my stash for ages called Grace's Frame. I love the simplicity and elegance of it, and thought it would be the perfect stage for these beautiful floral Washi die cuts made with Pinkfresh Studio's English Garden Washi Tape & Die Set. I arranged several of the die cuts and popped them up on the embossed panel. I popped up the embossed panel with fun foam, and adhered it to my card base. To complete my card, I stamped a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio's Always Uplifting stamp set with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed with WOW clear embossing powder.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure? Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful projects that the Design Team has created to inspire you. Dive into your embossing folder stash and add some pressure!

Hello Spring

I am so pleased to be here as Guest Designer for the April Four Seasons Spring Challenge that starts today, April 1st.

Here is the mood board for the challenge:

I love Magnolias - Pink, Star, Chinese, Figo... you name it. Growing up, there was a huge Pink  Magnolia tree in our front yard that had been planted by my grandfather as a gift to our family. Every year when in bloomed in all of its magnificence, we would pray everyday that a spring frost would not come and turn it all brown. I have been thinking of that tree, especially with the fluctuation in our weather here is the northeastern part of the US, and it seemed fitting that for my Spring card, I would go with Magnolias.

I embossed a 4x5.5 panel of 110 lb. card stock with  the SSS Magnolias Embossing Folder. I used blending brushes to apply 3 shades of pink Distress Oxide Inks directly onto the EF. I ran it though my die cutting machine and got this beautiful result. I added sentiments from Neat & Tangled Hello Spring stamps and dies and glued some Dew Drops and my card was complete.

Thank you so much Darlene and Diane, for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge. Please head on over to the Four Seasons Challenge blog and check out what the fabulous Design Team has come up with to get your creative juices flowing.

Happy New Year!

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation

To create my card, I used Gina K Iridescent Glitter Glitz Gel and the Pretty Pink Posh Fireworks stencil to create a very glittery and sparkly background on black card stock. I topped that with Cheery Lynn Designs' Happy New Year die cut from Memory Box Pastel Glitter card stock. I stamped and colored with Copics, the champagne bottle from Pretty Pink Posh's Happy New Year Stamp set, added "2022" on the label with my JustRite letter/number stamp tools from the deepest recesses my stash, and popped it up as my finishing touch. I used sparkle, stars, black, champagne, 2022, die cuts from the inspo list.

Happy Halloween

Less Is More Challenge #453 begins today. We are challenged to create a CAS card in the colors of yellow and purple in our design.

I thought these colors would work well for Halloween. I made a one layer card using the Six Circle Shadow stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, did some masking and inked three circles with yellow and purple DO inks. I then used images from a very old (unavailable) stamp set that has been in my stash for years - Waltzingmouse Stamps Midnight Feast. The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios If The Broom Fits.
