Happy New Year, Next Year!!!

It's time for our first challenge of 2024 at Time Out! We have planned a great year ahead with super fun and creative bi-weekly challenges, our 10th birthday celebration and many wonderful sponsors. For our first challenge of the new year, we challenge you to be... NEW.

You can take this in many different directions, but I went with "New Year". And I do know that this is 2024 and not 2025! I was not ready with nearly enough Christmas cards this year, so I decided to make New Year cards. When that did not happen, I decided to make this New Year card for next year. If I am going to be honest, I will tell you that my champagne bottle was stamped, cut and colored for 2022, and it never got to the post office, so I re-did the label for this bottle for next year and made this card. I vowed to do a Christmas challenge every week this year so I am ready in December. We will see how that goes. LOL.

We are generously sponsored by Gina K. Designs. Challenge Winner will get a $25.00 store credit and an offer to join the Time Out Design Team as a Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are joined by Cynthia Olheiser of Stampin' In Alaska as Guest Designer. Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to check out Cynthia's wonderful, then take some Time Out to play with us.

Happy New Year!

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation

To create my card, I used Gina K Iridescent Glitter Glitz Gel and the Pretty Pink Posh Fireworks stencil to create a very glittery and sparkly background on black card stock. I topped that with Cheery Lynn Designs' Happy New Year die cut from Memory Box Pastel Glitter card stock. I stamped and colored with Copics, the champagne bottle from Pretty Pink Posh's Happy New Year Stamp set, added "2022" on the label with my JustRite letter/number stamp tools from the deepest recesses my stash, and popped it up as my finishing touch. I used sparkle, stars, black, champagne, 2022, die cuts from the inspo list.

Lunar New Year

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of Lunar New Year which is celebrated on Friday, February 12th this year.  The challenge runs from January 22-February 5.

For my Lunar New Year themed project, I used: red, lanterns, gold and foil paper from the inspo list. I used Mama Elephant's Sakura Creative Cuts for the frame, branch, flowers and lanterns, and Mama Elephant's Lunar Sayings stamp set for the sentiment. Both stamps and dies are brand new (to me). The frame is cut from gold foil paper. The other die cuts are done with 80# Neenah Solar White card stock and colored with Copic Markers. The clouds were stenciled with the Cloud Edger from A Colorful Life Designs. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110# card stock.

Happy New Year

It's New Year's Eve. There is so much to say about bidding adieu to 2020 on so many levels, but I am not going to put it all down right here. I want to say that I am grateful for the many joys, comforted in the deep sorrows, and hopeful for the future.

Time Out Challenge #178 begins today with a theme of Life In The City with an optional twist of using ink blending or sponging.

We are generously sponsored by Birch Press Design

Our wonderful Guest Designer is Joy, a wonderfully talented crafter who is sure to inspire you. Treat yourself to a visit to her blog. You will be so glad you did!

I went with a cityscape for my card. I live close to New York City, and watching the ball drop in Times Square on New Year's Eve (from the comfort of my own or someone else's home) has been a yearly thing in my life for as long as I can remember. So with that in mind, I pulled out my new-to-me Altenew City Scene Stencil and went to work. I inked the background with Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Inks. I stenciled the skyscrapers with Black Soot, and added the fireworks from The Ton Pyrotechnics and the sentiment with heat embossing. Voila!

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Joy and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Happy New Year!

It's December 29th, and the year is screaming to a close. I had a little time to craft today, so I decided to make a card to welcome 2020. Super simple - no stamping. Dies by Cheery Lynn Designs and Spellbinders.

Welcome 2017!

This card has a funny story behind it. I made it very recently for AAA Challenge #80, but when it got down to the last few hours before the challenge went live, I realized that the AAA challenge theme was SILVER. This card was GOLD. lol. So I remade this one in silver for that challenge. Don't tell, but I really like it much better in gold, so I am linking it to the following challenges:

Challenge #374 ~ Hello 2017

Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year. Thanks so much for stopping in today.

Happy New Year!

Please not that this is a THREE week challenge this time, running from December 18th to January 7th.

Our Challenge Sponsor is Stampendous
First place winner will receive a $20.00 Gift Certificate to the Stampendous Store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Deborah Frings of Deborah's Gems. Take a stroll through her blog, and I am sure you will be very inspired!

Now, on to my card. I must tell a funny story about it.  During the time leading up to the challenge, I had it in my head that the theme was GOLD despite the fact that I had many reminders on calendars and on lists etc, that it was SILVER. I made my GOLD themed card, I was very, very happy with it. When I went to post it with the rest of the DT cards, I noticed that everyone's card was silver, as was the header for the challenge. Just a funny example of how crazy things are right now.  I had a big belly laugh over that one. Then I re-made my card in Silver. LOL!!

Here it is:

I die cut the word "Cheers" using PTI's Luxe Silver Adhesive Sheets and Uncorked Word Die and adhered it to the inside of the card.

Supplies:
Stamps~Hero Arts Tiny Stars Background, SU Holidays & Wishes (2007),
Ink~Tsukineko Delicata Silvery Shimmer Ink, VersaMark.
Paper~Neenah Solar White
Accessories~PTI Uncorked and Uncorked Word Dies, Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames Dies, SU Silver EP, Little Things Sequins. SU Distressing Tool.

Please head on over to the AAA CAS Cards Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful silver themed cards created by the awesome DT. Get in spired to make a silver themed card of your own, and link up to play with us.
