Christmas Shaker Card

Time Out Challenge #252 starts today with the Theme of Winter/Holiday. We are sponsored by Birch Press Design. Winner will receive a $20.00 Store Credit to the Birch Press Store, and will get an invitation to be a Guest Designer for a future Challenge at Time Out.

TIME OUT IS ALSO HAVING A DT CALL!
Please click HERE for details.

Our Guest Designer is Jen Elliot of Live.Craft.Repeat. Jen is a very talented crafter, and a frequent participant of Time Out. Do treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration!

For my card, I dug very deeply into the depths of my stash and dug out the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2016 Kit. I've seen some snow globes out there lately that really inspired me, so I decided to make one. I always feel like I have to fiddle too much with shakers and all the bits find their way to the desk, floor, my hair... but I was bound and determined to get this one right. Most of what I used was from the kit, except the little bow die cut on the lower right, and the tiny star background which was stamped with VersaMark using a HeroArts Cling background stamp.

Gather your Winter/Holiday supplies and head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog for some awesome inspiration from our Guest Designer Jen and the Design team. Come play with us!!!

Oceans Of Joy

There's a new challenge over at Time Out Challenges - It's a "Home Sweet Home" theme, and the inspiration is the photograph above. As I so often do, I went with a literal take. The photo is so intriguing to me - I have such a love for things of the sea. I love the combination and contrast of the white seahorse and shells and the bright orange pumpkins. I did not place pumpkins in my design, though I did add bits of orange. The coral inside the shaker is stamped with an image from Designs By Ryn. The other stamped images and sentiment are all Hero Arts.

Our Guest Designer for both the challenge and reminder posts for Time Out #94 is Janet of Swanlady Impressions. Janet is a CAS rock star. Her work is swoon-worthy. As I strolled through her blog, I was filled with inspiration and delight. Treat yourself to a visit to Swanlady Inpressions. You will be so glad you did.

Our sponsor for this challenge is STAMPlorations. The challenge winner will be awarded a $10 gift voucher to use in the Stamplorations store.

Ponder the inspiration photo, and see where it takes you. Create a project, link up and play with us at Time Out Challenges. I can't wait to see what come up with!

Magical Christmas

A new month of challenges has started at Happy Little Stampers, and today is day one of the July Christmas Challenge with the theme of Anything Goes with an Optional Twist of Die Cuts.

I broke out the October 2016 Hero Arts Monthly Card Kit that has been waiting patiently for some love since I got it. It's full of stamps and dies to create wonderful Christmas scenes. I went for the snow globe and made a shaker card. I used a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Christmas Joy set to complete my magical Christmas scene.

Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers July Christmas Challenge to see what wonderful inspiration the Design Team has for you. Get your Fa La La La La on, create a Christmas project of your own, and share it in the HLS July Christmas Gallery for a chance to win a $20.00 gift voucher to the Happy Little Stampers Store! Happy Birthday LiLi

I made this card for my sister Lisa, who my family affectionately calls LiLi. Her nickname came about when my (now 17 yo) boys were just beginning to talk and that became their name for her. She and I are very close, and we share many texts with lots of emoticon silliness. I forgot to take a pic of the inside before I wrote a personal message, but I put some of the emoticons from SSS Texting stamps and dies inside with the sentiment "Happy Looks Good On You" from SSS Choose Happy set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Simon Says Clear Stamps Texxtimg and Choose Happy, Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script, MFT
Accessories: Avery Elle, Sequins, Copic markers, White Embossing Powder, Avery Elle Elle-Ments Dies-Wonky Stitches
Ink: VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black.

Welcome 2017!

This card has a funny story behind it. I made it very recently for AAA Challenge #80, but when it got down to the last few hours before the challenge went live, I realized that the AAA challenge theme was SILVER. This card was GOLD. lol. So I remade this one in silver for that challenge. Don't tell, but I really like it much better in gold, so I am linking it to the following challenges:

Happy New Year!

Please not that this is a THREE week challenge this time, running from December 18th to January 7th.

Our Challenge Sponsor is Stampendous
First place winner will receive a $20.00 Gift Certificate to the Stampendous Store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the very talented Deborah Frings of Deborah's Gems. Take a stroll through her blog, and I am sure you will be very inspired!

Now, on to my card. I must tell a funny story about it.  During the time leading up to the challenge, I had it in my head that the theme was GOLD despite the fact that I had many reminders on calendars and on lists etc, that it was SILVER. I made my GOLD themed card, I was very, very happy with it. When I went to post it with the rest of the DT cards, I noticed that everyone's card was silver, as was the header for the challenge. Just a funny example of how crazy things are right now.  I had a big belly laugh over that one. Then I re-made my card in Silver. LOL!!

Here it is:

I die cut the word "Cheers" using PTI's Luxe Silver Adhesive Sheets and Uncorked Word Die and adhered it to the inside of the card.

Supplies:
Stamps~Hero Arts Tiny Stars Background, SU Holidays & Wishes (2007),
Ink~Tsukineko Delicata Silvery Shimmer Ink, VersaMark.
Paper~Neenah Solar White
Accessories~PTI Uncorked and Uncorked Word Dies, Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames Dies, SU Silver EP, Little Things Sequins. SU Distressing Tool.

Please head on over to the AAA CAS Cards Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful silver themed cards created by the awesome DT. Get in spired to make a silver themed card of your own, and link up to play with us.

Enjoy Thanksgiving

I am busy making Thanksgiving cards. I LOVE this season and this holiday above all others. To make this card, I broke out several new things from my stash: Thanksgiving Dies from Paper Smooches, Pretty Pink Posh Window Frames Die, and these beautiful sequins from Lucy's Cards Shop: The Colours of Fall Sparkly Shaker Selection.

I water colored several areas on a large piece of water color paper in autumn colors. I die cut the PS Thanksgiving icons twice - once from Chocolate Chip, and once from the water colored paper, pieced them together and arranged them at the bottom of the Window frames die cut.  I created a shaker using Jennifer McGuire's No-Bulk Shaker Card Technique that you can see HERE. I love it because the sequins stay (relatively) in place rather than all of them falling to the bottom of the shaker.

The sentiment is an old Hero Arts stamp that I have had forever. I covered up a little smudge next to the sentiment with a little leaf sequin.  I am thankful for little things that let me fix mistakes!!! LOL!

I am linking my card to the following challenges:

GIVING THANKS

Trio-Tastic

Use 3 of something on your project. I used the three dies from the Paper Smooches Thanksgiving Dies set.

I am thankful that you stopped in today. Have a lovely day!

Sunshine Shaker

Time for another game at the AAA Challenge Blog. Our theme this time is CAS  Shaker Cards (Clean & Simple Style only).

Our sponsor for this game is Stampendous.

The first place winner will receive a prize from this wonderful company AND the chance to be a Guest Designer for a future AAA Cards Challenge.

This was one of those cards that came out completely different than the way it began. I reworked the background on this one. At first I used a white background sprayed with gold Glimmer Mist, but it did not sing loudly enough.  I keep a little box filled with watercoloring experiments, and this background panel was in there. Nothing but blue skies... it was perfect. So I de-constructed and re-constructed the card with this wonderful water color background, and voila!

The AAA DT has come up with some truly wonderful creations, so please go over the AAA Cards Challenge Blog and give them some love.  Then get to work on your own CAS Shaker card - Clean & Simple is the key!
