Happy Birthday!

I needed to make a card for a very special birthday. Back in August I pinned THIS card created by Jenny of My Paper Epiphany when she was GD at Seize The Birthday #221 By The Sea Challenge. I CASEd it for my lighthouse loving husband's birthday card, and he just LOVED it. Thank you so much for the inspiration, Jenny.

I created the sky with Brushos. The lighthouse, clouds and birds are all cut from Cottage Cutz Lighthouse and Lighthouse w/Clouds dies. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Butterfly Birthday.

For my card, I chose to twist with a one layer card created with the Altenew Build A Flower: Poinsettia in shades of red. I used black ink for the center and added some clear Stickles to add a little sparkle. I also coated the leaves with clear WOS. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Christmas Joy stamp set, stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Please head over to the Time Out Challlenge Blog and see what Joanna and the rest of the design team has created for your inspiration. Play with us for a chance to win.

Smiles Are Always In Fashion

Time Out Challenge #113 is up and running. This time around, it's Inspired By Words. Here's the quote:

Guest Designer for this challenge is Amanda of Diamond Laine Designs,  She has an ecclectic style that is sure to inspire you. Treat yourself to a visit to her blog.

Our challenge sponsor is Sarah Gray. Sarah has her own line of fabulous, versatile and unique stencils available for purchase in her Folksy Store - check them out here. You can also see a selection of cards Sarah has made using her stencils on her Instagram account here.

I sell my stencils here

The winner of this challenge will receive their choice of 3 of Sarah's stencils.

To create my card, I went right to the Smile! stamp set from Happy Little Stampers. As I looked at each of the sentiments in the set, the one I used on my card called to me. The silhouette image from Happy Little Stampers Wish You Were Here stamp set immediately came to mind. I stamped it on a panel from my bits box that was made with Distress Oxide Inks and stamped with Full On Floral from CAS-ual Fridays. I thought it had a "mod", "retro" feel and went perfectly with the sentiment. I added a few sequins, and that was it!

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog and see what Amanda and the Design Team have created to inspire you. Join us in the gallery to share your creation, and for a chance to win!

Born To Be Wild

Time Out Challenge #108 goes live today with a theme of WILD.
Challenge sponsor is Winnie & Walter. Winner will receive a $25 gift voucher to spend in the Winnie & Walter store.
Our Guest Designer is the wonderfully fun and talented Darnell of djkardkreations. She will be with us for the challenge and reminder posts. If you don't know Darnell, you really must meet her. In any case, visit her blog for a real treat! You will be so glad you did!

For my card, I used a free digi download from Winnie & Walter for the background. It felt wild and jungle-like to me. I heat embossed the tiger on a white stitched circle die cut with metallic copper embossing powder, and die cut a gold metallic circle to frame it. The image and sentiment are from Happy Little stampers Born To Be Wild.

Rain Or Shine

Time for a new challenge at ATCAS! Our host is Bobby, and our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers.

Fran Wing, winner of our 'Lucky Challenge' is our Guest Designer!

For my card, I used images and a sentiment from Happy Little Stampers Rainy Days set. I did some masking so that the umbrella, clouds and sun would all be connected. Then I masked the entire stamped image and stamped the entire top layer with the Falling Rain Background Stamp from Simon Says Stamp and embossed with clear EP. It's hard to see in the picture, but those shiny raindrops look great in the background.

Please head over to the Addicted To CAS Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful creations Fran Wing and the ATCAS Design Team have whipped up for your inspiration. Join us in the gallery for a chance to win a gift voucher for the Happy Little Stampers store.

Please remember, this is a CLEAN AND SIMPLE (CAS) Challenge.
Have fun!

Merry Christmas

The March Christmas Challenge is up at Happy Little Stampers, and this month the optional twist is STAR. This is my take:

I love the SSS Mosaic Star Die, and wanted it to be the "star" of my card. I cut it a little over the edge of fantastic dark blue metallic card stock from the December Hero Arts Monthly kit. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Christmas Joy set and is stamped on a tag cut with a MFT Die-namics stitched Fishtail Flag die and popped up on the blue panel, The paper for the tag is a digi. I'm sorry I  don't have a source for it. The blue panel is set on PTI Vintage Cream card stock.

Please head over to the Happy Little Stampers March Christmas Challenge, and see what my wonderful Design Teammates have created for your inspiration, create a Christmas Card and play with us for a chance to win $15.00 to spend in the HLS Store!

With All My Heart

This Valentine was very much influenced by THIS card created by my friend and Time Out Challenges Design Teammate, Jill Vickers. I just loved the foil hearts on her card, and so I immediately bought some foil card stock so I could do the same. I sprayed the top panel with Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Designer Mica Spray and then inlaid the wonderful foil hearts which are cut from CASual Fridays Heart Board Fri-Dies. The arrows are cut from the same die set, and stamped and silver embossed with sentiments from CASual Fridays Cupid's Arrow.

A Holly Jolly Christmas

It's time for a new Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge. The theme for February is Anything Goes With An Optional Twist Of Holly.
Challenge winner will receive a $15.00 discount at the Happy Little Stampers Store.

Here is my take:

I brushed various shades of green watercolor onto a piece of watercolor paper. I die cut 8 holly shapes using Paper Smooches Warm Hearts Icons, and stamped them with the holly image from Paper Smooches Warm Hearts stamp set. I added the holly berries using Gloss Red Nuvo Drops, then arranged and popped up the holly die cuts. I added sponging with red ink on the edges, and added twine to the top. The sentiment is from Happy Little Stampers Christmas Joy stamp set.

Playing the HLS Christmas Challenge every month helps you to get a good handle on next year's Christmas cards, plus helps you to remember and use all of those Christmas goodies you added to your stash over time.  Head on over the the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration, get your Holly Jolly on, link up your creation, and play.
