Celebrate In Shades Of Blue

Less Is More Challenge #449 begins today. We are challenged to create a CAS card using shades of blue.

Our Guest Designer is Sid of Harpie's Crafty Corner, and Less Is More May Winner. Sid has a wonderful, colorful, eclectic style. Please visit Sid's blog and be inspired to play with us.

I used this wonderful Balloon Duo Stencil from Neat & Tangled (retired) to create a row of balloons in many shades of blue Distress Oxide Inks. The balloon strings are from Avery Elle's Numbered Balloons (retired). The sentiment stamp and die cut are from Pinkfresh Studio Happy Birthday Sentiments.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Happy Christmas

Christmas in July is everywhere! Maybe it's me, but I feel like it is extra everywhere this year! That being said, I was inspired to dig through my Christmas stash and came upon this wonderful old Happy Little Stampers set called Merry Kissmas. It's perfect for a super CAS Christmas make. I colored it with Copics and added a good slather of clear Wink Of Stella. I then paired it with a tiny sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Christmas, die cut the design and sentient with a 2" square die, popped it up with fun foam and my card was complete.

With Love

When I saw the Inspired By Challenge this week, I HAD to play. I am late to the party with my acquisition of the Essentials By Ellen Bear Ware Collection, but now I will be using them like crazy as I finally have them all. Thanks to my enabler - she knows who she is! I hand drew the collar and cuffs of Bear's sweater. and gave them a little sparkle with WOS. If you look closely at his sweater, you can see a herringbone pattern that I added with some masking and a stamp from PTI's Background Basics Herringbone. The stripes he is standing on are from PTI's Background Basics Super Stripes. I have had both these sets for years. I am using my NBUS - Never Before Used Schtuff! This is a Valentine for my coffee-loving son. He will love it.

Your Hard Work

This is the last challenge where we celebrate Less Is More's 9th Birthday and the 8th Birthday of Uniko Stamps, our wonderful sponsor.

For Less Is More #414, we have a continuation of the theme of sizes, and this week it is Big And Small. For example an elephant and a mouse, a large sentiment and a tiny image, a big flower and a small flower, a large square, a small square... Something like that!

When I saw the prompt, I immediately thought of this image from Paper Smooches A Little Lovin set and decided to craft my card around it. This is a card of pride and encouragement for one of my sons who is seeing the fruits of his labors at school. He has always been such a hard worker. He has had some significant obstacles to overcome along his way. Things are really coming together for him at the moment, so this one is for him. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Encouragement. It is full of wonderful sayings.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Love You To Pieces

It's that time of year when love is in the air! I recently participated in a teacher auction at the school in which I work. Teachers were asked to come up with something for parents to bid on as part of a fundraiser. I offered a card making class which was won by a mom of a crafty seventh grade girl. She and four of her friends got to make 3 cards designed by yours truly. I did the class today. The prep was sooooooo much work, but the girls loved it. This is one of the three. It was inspired by THIS card by my teammate at Time Out, Lisa Kind.

We used Funky Fossils Designs Four Hearts Stencil and Simon Says Stamp Hey Love stamps to create this valentine. This one is going to my husband.

I took my inspiration for my clean and layered card  from the black/white/red/kraft color scheme, hearts and stripes.
