Time Out #251 - Photo Inspiration - Happy Birthday

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This is such a fun one that we have been doing for a few years now. It is a photo inspiration challenge where the photo is a handmade bag made by Kim Heggins of Running Stitch Design. Kim is a good friend and supporter of Time Out and a former Design Team Member. Winner of this challenge gets the bag as a prize. How cool is that?!

We welcome Ashwini Rao as our Gesst Designer. Ashwini is an very talented paper crafter whose design and coloring skills are remarkable. Be sure to check out her BLOG and leave her some love.

Pineapple Thanks

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. Challenge #239 is a photo inspiration challenge - photo above. I thought long and hard about this one, and in the end, I zeroed in on that copper pineapple on the top shelf of this cart. I embossed mine with copper EP, die cut it and placed it on pineapple patterned paper. My sentiment is hot foiled in silver, which "mirrors" the top shelf of the cart. For my layout, I used the FMS Sketch that closed on 5/22, but I loved the sketch so I used it even though I could not enter this card in that challenge.

We are generously sponsored by Picket Fence Studios. Winner will receive a $25 store credit (which must be used within 90 days of the winners post).

We are so excited to welcome Joyce Merhrberg, our former teammate and winner of Time Out #236 as Guest Designer for this challenge. Joyce is such a talented card artist with a largely CAS style. She especially loves cityscapes, dogs, books and scenes. Take a stroll through her blog or Instagram and be prepared to be inspired!

One Layer and Stencils

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More. This time the theme is a one lsyer card using stencils. Just remember that there must be lots of clean white space on your card.

Our wonderful sponsor for the month of August is Funky Fossil Designs. The shop's owner, Sarah Gray, is a wonderful artist and former Desigh Team Member of Less Is More! Check out Sarah's Folksy shop for a wonderful selection of stencils, cards and gifts. Your creative juices are sure to flow. Play with us for a chance to win some fabulous stencils from Sara's store.

For my first card, I masked a rectangle using a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs Marvelous Masks Rectangles. I placed the Simon Says Stamp Circular Lace stencil in the aperture, and sprayed with three shades of pink Color Shine Spray from Heidi Swapp. I then stamped the sentiment from Concord and 9th's Being Classy stamp set in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

For my second card, I stenciled these wonderful crabs with Carta Bella's Crab Crawl stencil using three shades of Distress Oxide ink. I could have sworn I had a sentiment somewhere that said "Im sorry I was crabby". I spent an inordinate amount of time digging through my out of control stash for that stamp to no avail. I thought this sentiment from Ranger Dylusions Quote Bubble set was perfect.

Challenge Entries:
