Time Out #287

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenge #287 opens today and runs through May 7th. It is a "Photo Inspiration" challenge. The photo came from our Design Team Member, Kate Lesh. It was taken by her friend as they were participating in a street fair with a booth showcasing their handmade items in Luxembourg a few years ago. I love this photo. There is an enlargement beneath the Challenge Badge below that you can use to more clearly see the many details in the photo from which to take inspiration for your project. Please be sure to describe in your post, how the photo inspired your creation.

We are generously sponsored by UNIKO with a $25.00 store credit as a prize for our challenge winner as chosen by the Design Team. Thank you, Bev Brown, for your continued support of Time Out. We appreciate you so much!

In studying the photo I was drawn to what appears t be a wrought iron railing on the staircase behind the costumed person on the right. I immediately thought of the PTI Wrought Iron Impression Plate circa March 2012. Once I decided to use that for my background, my design came together. I used the Impression plate with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink and my BetterPress to create the background. I LOVE the effect! Then I focused on the flowers hanging in the booth and on the costumed person n the right and created a cascade of flowers using a variety of pink, red and green DO inks and Waffle Flower Dies. I matted the background panel with SU Glorious Green (long retired) which matched the green in the costumes, as did Lucky Clover.

We are joined by Heather Heroldt of Handmade By Heather, and winner of Time Out #282 as Guest Designer. Heather is a wonderful designer and a frequent player at Time Out. Do visit her BLOG and leave her some love. You will surely be inspired by her work!

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Heather and the rest of the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Come play with us! I can't wait to see how this interesting photo sparks your creativity! Don't forget to tell us how in your post! Also remember, we allow linking to a total of 5 challenges, including ours. See you in the gallery!
