I'm A Rainbow Sprinkle

There's a new challenge up at Time Out where we are challenged to be UNIQUE. Our challenge is sponsored by Catherine Pooler - winner gets a goodie bag of Catherine Pooler products! Awesome!

Our wonderful Guest Designer Elizabeth Stewart of Paper Sweetness. Elizabeth's work is absolutely awesome. Her designs are so inspiring. Please treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. You will surely be delighted!

When I thought about the word "unique" and card design, my mind immediately went to Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy images. I just love them, and it has been a while since I inked them up. I stenciled a small background area with Dylusions Small Bubble Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink. I painted my bird with Zigs and gave him some glasses. The sentiment is from Dylusions Laugh Til You Leak

Please head over to the Time Out Challenges Blog to see what Elizabeth and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Play with us to share your creation, and to have a chance to win a prize Catherine Pooler Designs. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Something Incredible

My twin sons just graduated from High School. They both love to receive a handmade card from the mama. This is Greg's card. I so love Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy stamps and dies, and this one reminds me of my brilliant and sometimes kooky son... He is ready to discover the universe. I am trying to get ready for both of them to fly the coop, and it is not an easy task. LOL.

For my creation, I used Distress Oxide inks, acetate and a spritzer to create the background on watercolor paper. I added white spatters with Ecoline White Liquid Watercolor which is fabulous for this purpose. The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti's Shine From Within.

New Beginnings

Time for a new challenge at Time Out Challenges! Challenge #87 is CASE challenge, and our wonderful and talented CASE designer is Cornelia of Stempel Spass. Cornelia's style is fresh, clean and fun. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. You can not help but be inspired!!

Here is Cornelia's piece for us to CASE:

I was very literal in my CASE of Cornelia's card. As soon as I saw it, I was reminded of Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy birds and and Dylusions sentiments, so I went that way. I so love the expression on this prticular bird's face. Cornelia's bird looks very confident. Mine looks a bit aprehensive, but he'll be OK.

Our Guest Designer for the challenge and the reminder post is  Pooja of Reusing Cards And Quilling. Pooja's work is awesome, and we are thrilled to have her joining us.

Happy Little Stampers is the challenge sponsor. The winner will receive a $15 gift voucher to the Happy Little Stampers Store.

Please check out the DT inspiration pieces on the Time Out Challenges Blog. I love to see the way CASE challenges awaken creativity. How will Cornelia's design inspire you?

Bird Crazy Independence Day

AAA Cards Game #67 is up! This time the theme is "Googley Eyes". Please remember that ALL of our challenges are CAS style.
Our first place winner will receive a gift from our generous sponsor, Stampendous.

I pulled out my Bird Crazy stamps and accessories for this challenge because the birds have such great eyes. I decided on a patriotic theme for the coming Independence Day celebration here in the US. I wanted to give this bird a flag AND a sparkler, so I also used Winnie & Walter's Sparkle stamps to have him hold a sparkler as well as the flag. I embossed the sparkler in silver and the sparkles in gold. So fun!

Please head on over the the AAA Cards Challenge Blog, check out the fabulous DT creations, and create a CAS Googley Eye project of your own. Link up your card, mention us in your post, display our challenge image, leave some comments on some of the other players's blogs and remember to keep your card CAS!

I am also linking this card to:

Time Out Challenge #59 - Theme With A Twist:

'Masculine with optional twist of mixed media'
Defining 'mixed media' as:
Stamps and ink plus 2 other elements that add texture and/or dimension.
My card was made with stamps and ink, with die cuts, embossing, watercolor and of course, google eyes!

Something Incredible

I made this graduation card for the daughter of a dear fried of mine. I love this sentiment stamp from Reverse Confetti especially for an occasion where one is starting a new chapter in life. Crazy Bird is dressed in the University of Scranton school colors of purple and gold. This young woman is going on to Grad School in September, and this is just perfect for her.

I am linking my card to the following challenges:

I used a combination of Stamping, Die-cuts and watercoloring.

Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Dies and Bird Crazy Accessories, Reverse Confetti Star Banner Die.

Thanks for stopping in today!
