PS Hello

This card was inspired by a combination of this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Picture Perfect challenge

in which we are inspired by this picture...

... and this week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge which provided the perfect layout for my idea.

The paintbrush images from PS I Heart Art are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. The sentiment is from PS Chilly Chums.

Thank you again for stopping by. It is rare that I post twice in one day. I really enjoyed being creative today. Therapy indeed.

Let Freedom Ring

This coming Thursday, July 4th, is a holiday here in the United States. Next to Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July is my favorite. It commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, which announced the separation of America from Great Britain. It is a day to celebrate the United States, its freedom, and to display patriotism and unity as a country.

I used 3 challenges as inspiration to create this card.

This week's CASology cue word immediately brought Independence Day celebrating to mind. (There are some really clever interpretations of the cue in the gallery for this challenge. Go take a look.)

I used Freshly Made Sketches #92 For my layout.

CAS-ual Fridays theme this week is "Hunger Games" - CFC107: Create a Clean And Simple project that features at least one arrow.  I used an arrow die from the MFT Die-namics collection - Accent it Labels and Tabs.

Stamped images are from Verve's American Hero. Images on the left are from one sheet of Authentique DP from their Glory collection.

Thank you very much for stopping in today. I really appreciate your visit.

I'm Impressed

Good Sunday afternoon! Squeaking in again with a creation for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge which is a Cool Shades challenge.  The images are from Paper Smooches Squeaky Clean and PTI Polka Dot Basics.

Hope you are having a wonderful day.  It's sunny and hot here in the Northeast. Perfect day to stay cool playing with cool shades!

What's Up?

This week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge is a Designer Draft. I love this little guy - he and the branch from which he is hanging are PS free digi images.
I created the cloud panel a while ago for another project that I never finished (story of my life these days).  It fit perfectly with this week's SPARKS challenge, so here it is.

You Add Color

It has been months since I sat down in my craft room for more than a moment. Yesterday I had the afternoon and after tidying things up, I made this card.  It was inspired by the second fabulous card in THIS post by my dear friend Jenny, and the color scheme in this week's Dynamic Duos challenge.

Supplies:
Stamps~Paper Smooches I Heart Art and Shadows.
Ink~ Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaFine Onyx Black, SU Pacific Point.

Always Have, Always Will

This week's Dynamic Duos colors immediately brought hearts to mind, and Heart is the code word for this week's Addicted to CAS challenge. It's hard to see the herringbone embossing on the card base and the tiny rhinestone stickers on the tiny hearts.  This is a third Valentine that works for DH - I will have to pick one lol.  Thanks for stopping in today.

Supplies:
Die cuts - MFT
Sentiment and hearts - Avery Elle
Twine - The Twinery

Love You Forever

I am screaming in with less than an hour to go for submission of this card for a new challenge - Muse. The concept is a little different. Here are the details from the Muse blog:

This challenge is open to anyone. The only thing you need to do to become a member is make a card and submit it to one of our challenges. It would be great if you also placed the Muse member badge in the sidebar of your blog but this is not mandatory. It's also not mandatory to become a Guest Designer if you were to be invited in the future.

Here are the simple rules:

  • Use what you have in your stash, don't purchase anything new for your Muse cards.
  • Explain your interpretation of the Muse inspiration card in your post and link back to Muse.
  • Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member’s submissions.
  • Vote for one of your fellow member's submissions that you find inspiring.
The focus of my interpretation was white embossing on white cardstock like the flowers and stems in the inspiration piece, and sponging with ink to add color.  I chose a hearts theme because it is the season, and I need a valentine for DH.  I also covered the card base with DP as above, and attasched my hearts and flourishes on a white panel. I love that look.

Thank you for stopping by today. I am looking forward to seeing the interpretations of this challenge over at Muse.
