On Your Special Day

I am thrilled to be here as Guest Designer for the new Color Hues Challenge where the challenge colors are Silver and White. I was in need of a wedding card for a couple who is very dear to me. Silver and white were a perfect starting point for that, so I went with a wedding theme.

I recently spent a few hours learning to "Glimmer" (I love this new verb). To create my card, I started with the Spellbinders  December 2021 Large Die of the Month which has a very elegant lattice design. I die cut the base piece in white, then the middle piece in SU brushed silver. I did not use the top piece. I used the Foliage Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula for the circle and flowers, and a  sentiment from Yana's Special Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set. I felt that the card base needed a little texture, so I used Altenew's Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover die and that did the trick.

Head over to Color Hues and check out what the fabulous Design Team has come up with to inspire you and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Two Hearts

Time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS where the Code Word is WEDDING. Our Hostess with the mostest is Vicki.

To make my card, PTI's (retired) Love & Marriage stamp set immediately came to mind. I tossed around a few ideas for my design, and finally settled on this very simple image and sentiment. I heat embossed the heart/silhouette in red and added the sentiment (I love that font!) below. I tested a few different embellishments including silver flecks, but in the end, I left it very plain adding just one rhinestone to give it a bit of sparkle.

Please head on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog, take a look at the wonderful inspiration pieces the Design Team has created for your inspiration, and make something to share in the gallery. Challenge winner will be offered a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge. Happy crafting!

Thrilled For You

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS with Code Word DIAMOND.  I have a dear friend who has met the love of her life, and I have a feeling there is a wedding in her not-too-distant future. I was inspired by her good fortune to make a card using Paper Smooches "polishes" dies using silver sparkle paper for the ring band, and a rhinestone sticker for the "diamond".  I have a lot of beautiful lace in my stash, so I decided to add some to the wrist for this special occasion.

ATCAS Challenge #146 is hosted by ATCAS Design Team Member, Ceal. Don't forget, as always, Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor, and Kylie is generously awarding the winner  a $20.00 gift
certificate to the store!

We have a super talented Guest Designer for this challenge...Carol Gunn. Carol is a wonderful crafter with an ecclectic style. Take a stroll through her blog - you are sure to be inspired.

Please head over to the Addicted To CAS blog to see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Come play with us for a chance to win some wonderful Happy Little Stampers products.

White Wedding

This week's Less Is More Challenge from Chrissie and Mandi is a color challenge - White on White.  Well!  I thought the acetate was challenging!!!!  I had snow in mind for this one, but everything I tried failed miserably.  I ran across this SU embossing folder, which is so gorgeous and needs little embellishment.  So I went from White Christmas to White Wedding!!!!  I embossed right on the front of the card - no layers there.  I then cut two labels with my Nesties, and stamped the tiny "Mr. & Mrs." sentiment from SU's All Holidays.  I added some tiny self adhesive pearls and I was done.  The cardstock is WHITE, but my evening photography is awful, and it looks to be vanilla.  Either way, I like it!  Thank you Chrissie and Mandi for making me step out of my comfort zone once again.  The LIMettes are really outdoing themselves on their projects for this challenge.  Go check it out and give it a whirl!!!
