For my card, I die cut a background that I had made with Distress Oxide inks with Poppy Stamps Floral Stem Collage die. I paired it with some linen textured green paper, and mounted the die cut panel on vanilla cardstock. The sentiment is an old wood mounted rubber stamp from Hero Arts.

Aloha Emily!

This is the back of my grand niece Emily in this adorable bathing suit (Land's End) last summer. The minute I saw it, I saw a card. It only took me a year to actually make, but I was inspired by the current CCCB challenge to finally do it. I can't wait to send it to her!

To create my card, I used Reverse Confetti's Big Stripes Cover Plate and Sugar Pea Designs Pineapple Paradise stamps.

I Can Smell Autumn

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in the US. It is by far my most favorite holiday - all about gratitude and sharing and taking time out to breathe and enjoy. I'm sneaking in with one more autumn themed card before the onslaught of "all Christmas all the time". I did a watercolor wash with autumn colors, added some splatters and stamped this wonderful image from Stampendous Pen Patterned Leaves embossed in gold. The sentiment is from So Suzy. I love the way it turned out.

Make Waves

I simply can not get enough of this mermaid tail from Julie Ebersole's Mermaid's Tail set from Ellen Hutson... I don't think I have ever used a single stamp more than I have used this one! This time I embossed the tail in gold on the card base, and die cut the top panel placing the aperture over the embossed tail.  I had used the stencil for another card. Afterwards, I left the distress inks on the stencil, sprayed it with water, and pressed it to a panel of watercolor paper. I love the soft, "foamy" effect. This card was made for a friend who needs a lot of support and encouragement right now. I just love the sentiments included in this set, and I thought these that I stamped on the inside were just perfect.
