Apple Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Today's festivities are in celebration of National Apple Day, which takes place on October 21st. The challenge runs from October 1st - October 11th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. To create my card, I used this gorgeous digi image from Power Poppy that screams of apple season. There are no visible apples in the scene, but I assure you, that is an apple pie. I can smell it! I colored the image with Copics, die cut it with Spellbinders Hemstitch Circle Dies, and mounted it on a card base cut from Ranger Wood Grain Card Stock. The "autumn" sentiment is a die cut from Winnie & Walter - no longer available.

I used apples (I swear they are in the pie), red, green circles and baking from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

For more inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the  Festive Friday Challenge Design team.

What a beautiful coloring job Stephanie! And I love that you made this a square card - really makes the circle stand out with all that nice white space framing it. Great to see you at the Try It On Tuesday challenge blog! ~Nancy J :o)

Stephanie,
Amazing coloring job and so artsy to not color the whole circle. The picture totally does represent Autumn! Love this! :)
Blessings,
Beth :)

Hi Stephanie, wonderful card! I love how you partially colored the circle die cut, and the apple pie looks (and smells!) delicious.

This is gorgeous. Apples do say autumn, don't they, and apple baking is some of the best. Hope you are having a wonderful new month, and thanks for joining us at TRy It On Tuesday. Hugs-Erika

Absolutely beautiful, Stephanie! Nothing says fall like warm apple pie with caramel sauce and ice cream. Your coloring is perfect, and I LOVE the warm, rich colors.
