To Plant A Garden

Time Out Challenge #184 begins today,. It is an Inspired By Words Challenge with the words on the badge above.
Our challenge runs from Thursday, March 25th to Wednesday, April 7. Our wonderful sponsor is AltenewChallenge winner will receive at $20.00 gift voucher to the Altenew Shop.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Helen of Moments Of Crafting.  Helen is a very talented card maker whose style is eclectic. Treat yourself to a visit to her wonderful blog, and show her some love. You will be filled with inspiration.

To create my card, I created an embossed background with Altenew's Diamond Stars 3D Embossing Folder. The quote spoke to me of spring and gardens, so I used an image,  sentiment and die cut from Simon Says Stamp Spring Seeds clear stamp and die set, colored it with Copics and mounted it on a Spellbinders Deckled Rectangles die cut. Very simple.

I See Your True Colors

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of World Autism Day, which is celebrated on April 2nd. The challenge runs from March 19 - March 29.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration. For my Autism Awareness- Themed card, I CASEd a design from a Tee Shirt that I found when I Googled. You can see it HERE. I used Essentials By Ellen Hands dies to create all the colored hands. The tiny hearts are from PTI Love Lives Here dies. I did the sentiment on my computer.  The word "colors" is die cut from Essentials By Ellen Tall N Skinny Alpha Dies. Can you hear Cyndi Lauper singing??? I used jigsaws, bright colors, and blue from the Inspo List.

Happy Easter

I am thrilled to be here as Guest Designer for Uniko Challenge #64 - Signs of Spring. Uniko is celebrating nine years of business. Owner Bev Brown is a very talented crafter, designer and business woman. She wears many hats and wears them well. Congratulations Bev, and thanks for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge.

Last week temps hit 75 here in New Jersey in the US, and it was such a joy to have a taste of Spring. Today we are expecting a little snow, but there is hope! A hopeful heart is so welcome. I have been reflecting a lot about the past year, and though it was full of difficulty, there were also many pearls. Signs of Spring help me to focus on those.

To create my card, I used Uniko's Originally Organic stamps and dies. I heat embossed the images with white EP on heavy weight vellum and die cut them. I randomly inked a script background stamp with VersaMark and white heat embossed it on Kraft card stock. I then applied splatters of  Copic Opaque White Pigment with a paint brush. Once that was dry, I glued the floral and sentiment die cuts to the Kraft panel and adhered it to a white card base. Happy Birthday, Uniko, and Happy Spring!

BE you TIFUL

Time Out Challenge #183 begins today, and challenge is for us to be DIFFERENT. This could be interpreted in many ways like stepping out of your comfort zone in your card making style, clothing style, food that is different for you to eat, etc. Use your imagination and show us your being different in your creation for this challenge. Have fun!

Our challenge runs from Thursday, March 11th to Wednesday, March 24th. Our wonderful sponsor is Funky Fossil Designs. Challenge winner will receive at $15.00 gift voucher to the Funky Fossil Designs Shop.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Lisa Petrella of Paper Mountain Parcels. Lisa is a very talented card maker whose style is largely CAS and often reflects her life as a Coloradan in her creations. Treat yourself to a visit to her wonderful blog, and show her some love. You will be full of inspiration after your visit.

To create my card, I stepped out of my comfort zone once again as I have been trying to do more of lately in my cards. Funky Fossil Designs lends encouragement to me for that purpose. I took one of the gel press backgrounds that I had created with Distress Oxide Inks, stamped an image from Funky Fossil Lotus Reflections stamp set directly onto it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and heat embossed it with clear EP. I stamped the lotus flower onto a scrap from a different gel press panel, heat embossed it with clear EP, fussy cut it out and popped it up on top of the lotus flower image on the larger stamped image. I die cut the panel with Spellbinders Hemstitch dies, and added a sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed it with Rose Gold EP to go with the rose colored lotus flower. I mounted the top panel on a black card base, and my card was complete.

This one is in honor of women everywhere. I have been enjoying working with my students to raise awareness of the awesome power of women in the world. I asked my Kinder students today to tell the class about a woman in their lives they'd like to honor. One little girl raised her hand, pointed at me and said, "you". Made me a little misty, I must say!

Welcome Little One!

Less Is More Challenge #438 begins today with a Baby theme.

Hannelie Bester of Desert Diva, extremely talented paper crafter and our January winner, has joined us as Guest Designer. Treat yourself to a stroll for some incredible inspiration. You are sure to be delighted.

When contemplating a design for baby creation, the Hanging Out stamp set from Papertrey Ink immediately came to mind. I reached deep into my stash, pulled this one out, stamped it and heat embossed it with clear EP.  I die cut the stamped panel with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle, attached it to my card base, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what Hannelie and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Friends Like Us

The theme over at Inspired By Challenge is "Heart Your Cat-titude". I love these cat-themed images from Waffle Flower's Flora Cat Play stamp set. When I saw this challenge, I pulled out the stamp set and my Zigs and voila! Is that little mouse the cutest?

Kiss Me

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of World Frog Day, which is celebrated on March 20th. The challenge runs from March 5 - March 15.

For my frog-themed project, I used: a frog, green, twine, and a circle. I must say, I had a bit of a hard time coming up with something froggy - and I do like to play the festivity theme if I can. All of a sudden, I remembered this Paper Smooches frog from the A Little Lovin set, and I knew just what to do. I stamped froggy and colored him with Copics. Added a crown complete with bling. I die cut and popped up a little speech bubble stamped with red lips. I die cut a circle around froggy with a Wonky Circle die and popped it up with fun foam. The background is de-bossed with Altenew Starburst de-bossing die. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110# card stock. I used twine from Lawn Fawn to complete the card.
