This week's Less Is More Challenge is
*STARS*
I have not been able to play for the last 2 weeks, and I really wanted to be sure to make something for LIM this week. I hate to miss it. I don't know why, but I really struggled to come up with a star themed project. I remembered a fabulous sheet of paper that I have - blue with silver metallic stars. I thought I could find some inspiration if I held it in my hand LOL, but alas, I never found it. Then I got the idea of using Verve's Starstruck collection and embossing in silver on Night of Navy card stock. The card came together from there. I have to say that I love it - except for the sides on the white panel. It looked too empty without some embellishment, but nothing I tried worked out to be fabulous. I think piercing may have worked, but in the end, I added silver dots with a silver Sharpie. I am not happy with that, they are uneven - I may just have to re-make it. I do love the rest of the card though, so I went with it.
I pulled out an old SU wheel and inked it with Versa Mark to make a star background on the Kraft. The embossing of the star came out beautifully, and I just love the sentiment from a new PTI set called Stylish Sentiments Holiday.
Thank you for stopping by. I actually posted four things this weekend, which is a record for me. An October snowstorm worked wonders for my crafting. Tonight I made a fabulous pot roast with shitake mushrooms and lots of root vegetables and wine. Feels like mid January, but tomorrow is Halloween! We have our costumes together. There will definitely be frost on the pumpkin for the festivities. Hope you have a fun day tomorrow whether you do or don't do Halloween.

This is gorgeous!!!
This is tremendous Stephanie... I love those die cut shapes and your embossing is fab. The background stars are very subtle.
It's a lovely card... I could identify with you completely... holding a piece if paper hoping for inspiration, I often do that and like you often rue adding something right at the end, which frequently leads to a remake, however, this looks terrific in the pic!
Thanks so much
Chrissie

Lovely card well done :O) Viv xx
I know it's frustrating when you're not happy with a card but from here it looks awesome and I'm sure it does IRL too. I hear the power is out in a lot of New Jersey so you may not be even reading this for a few days!! Hope your keeping warm on this snowy Halloween night :)

Hi Stephanie, I 'm amused by your description of making this card as it's exactly how I make cards too! I thought the white panel had been pierced until I read you'd used a silver sharpie and I think it looks great. Is it usual to have snow in New Jersey in October? Wrap up warm! Vx
Love this card. I stuggled with the challenge too and I often do exactly the same - sit and think - my family think I'm crazy!! Take care. Tania XX
This is brilliant, love that dark blue paper,

I do love that die shape, in fact, I just got the bigger one the other day. I've tried to use them several times and just couldn't make them work. Thanks so much for the inspiration with your beautiful card!
