Pawsitively Fun!

Time Out Challenges #262 has just begun, and this time it is a photo challenge. This handmade bag in the photo is both our inspiration & our prize.

Here's an enlargement of the photo for viewing the marvelous detail within. Do note that you do not need to use a dog image to play along - you can, for example only be inspired by the colors, patterns or shapes you see in the photo, including other animals. We look forward seeing your creative takes!

We are welcome Cornelia Wenokor of Stempel-Spass and winner of Time Out #258 as our Guest Designer. Cornelia is such a talented card artist with a wicked sense of humor and a great eye for design and color. Please treat your self to a visit to her blog. You are in for a real treat and a good belly laugh!

This card morphed many times to get to the final product. I wanted to use Funky Fossil stamps and stencil to showcase these funky pups. In the end I made a collage of sorts framing them in this Pretty Pink Posh die cut. The twine is in homage to Julie Ebersole with her signature knots. Where is Julie these days? I found the perfect patterned paper in my stash to go with the colors with which I stamped and stenciled. I was quite pleased in the end, even though it took me forever to finish this one!

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see what Cornelia and the Design Team have created to inspire you. Think about the photo, and see how it inspires you. Then grab some supplies and start creating. I can't wait to see your project in the gallery.

Remember, we allow links to a total of 5 challenges including ours. We also need you to tell us in your post, how you were inspired by the quote. Check out the rules in "how to play" on the sidebar of the challenge blog. See you in the gallery!

Happy Father's Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of Father's Day, which falls on June 20th this year. The challenge runs from  June 11 - June 21.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. To create my Father's Day themed card, I came up with a design, and I completed it using Paper Smooches Frame 3 Die, Papertrey Ink's Block Alphabet and Simple Circles Border Dies, Stampin Up 3 Heart Punch and some patterned paper from Carta Bella's 6x6 Yacht Club Collection. The final touch was a gray adhesive backed pearl on the heart, and my card was finished. I used heart, blue, and boat from the Inspo List.

You Anchor Me

Time Out Challenge #140 is up and running. This time, it is a "Home Sweet Home" challenge with the inspiration being the picture above.
This challenge is sponsored by Topflight Stamps. The Challenge Winner will receive a $25 Top Flight gift voucher.

For my card, I zeroed in on the framed anchors in the photo. I used Carta Bella Anchors Aweigh stencil with Distress Oxide ink,  Simon Says Stamp Anchor die and a sentiment from Paper Smooches Wicked Nauticool set.

Please head over to the Time Out Challenges Blog to see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Play with us to share your creation, and for a chance to win a prize from Top Flight Stamps. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

You Are My Life's Anchor

Time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS where the Code Word is FATHER. Our Hostess with the mostest is Jaydee.

To make my card, I first went through my stash to find a sentiment that spoke to me, and built my card from there. I had a dark blue anchor at first, but it was hard to see the word "DAD", so I unglued and re-did. I am much happier with this version. I also added some spatters and the knot too.

Please head on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog, take a look at the wonderful inspiration pieces the Design Team has created for your inspiration, and make something to share in the gallery. Challenge winner will be offered a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge. Happy crafting!
Please remember that this is a CAS challenge. Here is a definition to remind you:

Yes You Can!

There's a new challenge up at Less Is More. This time it's a sketch. When I first looked at this sketch, I saw a jacket and tie. I also saw a spotlight. There are so many possibilities as you will see when you feast your eyes on the wonderful inspiration the Design Team has created.

Our sponsor this month is Skull And Cross Buns.

We're joined as Guest Designer by our November 2018 winner, Toni of Frankie Helps Craft. Toni's work is fun and clever, and her coloring is awesome! Take a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration.

Keeping the jacket, tie and spotlight in mind, I created this card of encouragement for my son who is a college Freshman at an extremely academically rigorous school. He is also a three season athlete.  I never saw anyone work harder than he does. His grades are fantastic, but every now and then, he gets the blues and I like to send him a hug in an envelope. So that is where I went with this sketch. I just cut 2 triangles, stamped and die cut the sentiment, and added a little heart cut from a scrap of water colored paper.

Please head on over to the Less Is More Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful creations the Design Team has come up with for your inspiration. Play with us and share your take on the sketch! I can't wait to see all the ways the shetch is interpreted.

Happy Birthday

I am squeeking in at the last minute to share my birthday card for my son. I am playing with Watercooler Wednesday WWC192. To make my card, I used Disrtress Oxide inks, Concord & 9th's Every Tintables Card Pack, Everyday Stamp Set and Everyday Circle Dies. I embossed the sentiment in white, sprayed the top panel with clear shimmer spray and added some twine.

Let's Celebrate

Addicted To CAS Challenge #142 is up and running with code word: MASCULINE. This challenge is hosted by ATCAS Design Team Member, Ellenor.

Our Guest Designer is the incredibly talented Desert Diva, Hannelie. Her work is bold, designed to perfection, colorful and wonderful. I am always inspired by her creativity. Please stop by Hannelie's  blog to say hello. You are sure to be inspired as you visit!

Don't forget, as always, Happy Little Stampers is our Sponsor, and Kylie is generously awarding the winner with a $20.00 gift certificate to the store!

Please remember that this is a CAS challenge. Here is a definition to remind you:

As for my card, my sons wanted to take their father out for sushi as birthday a gift, so I made them a "gift card". To create it, I stamped several images from Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll set, colored them with Copics, die cut and arranged them. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler, and is heat embossed on a die cut banner.

Please head over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog and see what Hannelie and the Design Team have come up with to inspire you. Join us in the gallery to share your creation, and for a chance to win!

You Are My Life's Anchor

Creative With Stamps Challenge #29 is up and running with the theme of "FATHER". I thought it was an interesting theme choice for August, but CWS Challenge Co-Creator Lilian was born in Taiwan where Father's Day is celebrated on August 8th, and chose the prompt for this challenge.

Challenge Sponsor is MHK Designs

Challenge winner will receive their choice of 3 products of their choice.

As I looked through my stash to find things that would work, I decided on my sentiment first from Altenew's Precious Moments. I then turned toward a nautical theme choosing a red, white and blue color scheme. I used a strip of patterned paper on the left, and stamped sailboats on the right. I stamped the two pieces of the sentiment on the Every Day Circles die cut from Concord & 9th, and there you go!

Inside, I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment. My father is no longer with us, but this would be perfect for one of my sons to use for their dad's birthday.

Please head on over to the Creative With Stamps Blogcheck out what the Design Team has come up with to inspire you, and share your creation in the gallery.
Happy crafting!

WWC170 Guest Designer Post - Love Letter In The Sand

I'm excited to say that I have been invited to participate as Guest Designer for Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC170 - Penny's Masculine "Anything Goes".

My husband and I are big beach lovers, regardless of the season or the weather. I wanted to make a card for him just because, and this will fit the bill perfectly.
I recently received this Stamp Lab stamp and sentiment with an order from STAMPlorations. As I was pondering how I would use it, I came up with the perfect idea for my card. I stamped the conch shell image on watercolor paper, and used a combination of Zigs and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to color it. I LOVE the way it came out. I am not tremendously fearless with   watercoloring. I have to admit that this one boosted my confidence a bit.

Anyway, please head over to the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge Blog to see what the lovely and talented Design Team has come up with to inspire you, create a card and join us in the gallery.
