Peaceful Soul

Marion Vagg is this week's Muse for Muse Challenge #105

The inspiration from Marion's card combined with this weeks CASology cue inspired me to create this card:

I so love this image from Memory Box, and Marion's wonderful card put me in mind of it right away.   I used just one colored ink along with black as a neutral.  The image is embossed with black EP.  The hills were masked and sponged with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Peaceful Garden stamped with VersaFine Black Onyx ink.  Probably the fastest card I ever made, and one of my favorites.

Snowing again here in the northeastern part of the US... I guess I was also inspired by the weather. Keep warm and craft on.  Thanks for stopping by.

Who Loves You?

There is a big 4th Anniversary celebration over at Paper Smooches.  Kim posted a special challenge today. You can read all about it HERE.  The challenge is to make a Valentine or love-themed card.  Tis the season...  So here is the card I made for one of my twin sons.  My boys are 15, but they still love to get  handmade cards that are tailored just for them.  This one is perfect for Jon.  I used Hooties stamps and dies,  a Quotable die for the sentiment, and a Clouds die for my sky.  The hearts are done with a heidi swap stencil and white embossing paste that is colored with distress ink.

I love Paper Smooches products, and Kim's customer service is second to none.  Happy Anniversary Kim!  Here's to many more!

Thanks for coming by for a look.

Celebrate Your Day

In addition to Papertrey Ink's 8th Year Anniversary activities and all that is going on with that,  one piece of big news over at Nichole Heady's Blog is that Designer Maile Belles has returned to Papertrey Ink.  You can read all about it in THIS post.  One of the Anniversary challenges is to select a project from Maile's blog that you find particularly inspiring and make your own project using elements from her card.

This first card in THIS post is the project that I chose for inspiration for my card.  I used  Papertrey Ink's Background Basics: Circles set for the background, and Signature Greetings for the sentiment.

ColourQ #278 is my color palate inspiration.

This is what I came up with:

I am also linking this card to the this week's Seize The Birthday - Anything Goes challenge.

For such a simple card, I fussed with it a lot, but I am happy with the results.  Thank you for stopping in.  I so appreciate your visit and your comments.  Have a great day.

ric#77 Birthday

I just love the inspiration photo for this week's Runway Inspired Challenge #77.  This is my take:

The sunburst die cut is Paper Smooches. It is mounted on vellum which is mounted on a cream colored panel which is mounted on Going Gray.  Hibiscus die cuts are from Memory Box, and the sentiment is PTI. I used distress inks to color the sunburst die cut, and added a little glimmer mist for some shine.  The tips of the stamen on the hibiscus flowers are dipped in glue and then in tiny yellow no hole glass beads.  The exciting thing is that all of these supplies have been lying in the depths of my stash for a long time without any love.  I love how they all worked together in this creation.

Thank you so much for coming by today.
