I'm A Rainbow Sprinkle

There's a new challenge up at Time Out where we are challenged to be UNIQUE. Our challenge is sponsored by Catherine Pooler - winner gets a goodie bag of Catherine Pooler products! Awesome!

Our wonderful Guest Designer Elizabeth Stewart of Paper Sweetness. Elizabeth's work is absolutely awesome. Her designs are so inspiring. Please treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. You will surely be delighted!

When I thought about the word "unique" and card design, my mind immediately went to Tim Holtz's Bird Crazy images. I just love them, and it has been a while since I inked them up. I stenciled a small background area with Dylusions Small Bubble Stencil and Distress Oxide Ink. I painted my bird with Zigs and gave him some glasses. The sentiment is from Dylusions Laugh Til You Leak

Please head over to the Time Out Challenges Blog to see what Elizabeth and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Play with us to share your creation, and to have a chance to win a prize Catherine Pooler Designs. I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Love You

Time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS: ATCAS #153: Code Word GRID.

Our Guest Designer is Eliz Stewart. Elizabeth's work is full of creativity, inspiration and fun. Be sure to treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. You will be so glad you did.

The code word immediately put me in mind of Simon Says Stamp Cling Stamp Lattice Grid. I embossed a piece of Neenah Solar White 80# card stock with white embossing powder. I then blended 3 shades of Distress Oxide Ink over the embossing. I cut the embossed panel, adhered it to the card base along with a 1/8" strip of dark gray card stock. I die cut the word "love" from a snippet of watercolored card stock with Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Love Die and stamped "you" from Simon Says Stamp's You Matter.

Please remember that this is a CAS challenge. Here is a definition to remind you:

Warm Holiday Greetings

The February Christmas challenge is up and running at Happy Little Stampers. The theme Anything Goes Christmas with an optional twist of STARS. For my card, I used Memory Box Cottage Globe wood mount stamp. I peeled it from the wood block and used my MISTI to get the image evenly inked. I applied Star Dust Stickles to every star in the sky. My sky full of stars looks very sparkly IRL, but I couldn't capture that in the picture. I was going to add some color to the house, trees and foreground, but I decided that I loved it just the way it was.

I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas. I really love the simplicity of this card.

Please head over to Happy Little Stampers February Christmas Challenge and see what the Design Team has created to isnpire you. Christmas cards made throughout the year = less stress when Christmas rolls around in December. Be good to yourself and play with us!

Less Is More Challenge is turning eight! I can't believe it has been 8 years since Less Is More started up. Back then, I was just beginning to develop my cardmaking craft. I was all about layers, ribbon and embellishments. I made myself try the CAS style as a result of Less Is More's entry to the blog world, and over time, I learned to embrace and to love it. Today, it is largely my style of cardmaking. Happy Birthday Less Is More!

Our sponsor for this birthday month is Uniko.

Click HERE to visit the UNIKO store.

Bev, Uniko owner, is one of our wonderful Guest Designers. It's Uniko's 7th birthday month, so there's a whole lot of birthday going on! Check out Bev's blog for a ton of inspiration, and leave her some love and birthday wishes.

Also designing with us for this challenge are Chrissie Stokes, Co-Founder of Less Is More; Sarah Platt, long time LIM Designer and Challenge Administrator; and Sarah Gray, Designer Extraordinaire and owner of Funky Fossil Designs

My first card is created with Uniko's Originally Organic and Paradise Hummingbird Stamps and Dies. The floral image is stamped with Versafine Magestic Blue Ink, clear embossed, colored with Copics and die cut. When I was happy with the placement of the die cut, I adhered it to the card base and added the image.

For my second card, I used three shades of yellow Distress Oxide ink and acetate to create the yellow background and added a die cut butterfly using SU Night Of Navy CS and Flutter Zen 1 Layering Dies - CUTplorations from STAMPlorations

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog for challenge details. Check out the gorgeous work of the Design Team, be inspired and play with us for a chance to win. Happy crafting!
