Stargazer Birthday

When I saw the Color Hues Challenge colors, I immediately thought of Altenew's gorgeous Stargazer Lily layered stamp set. I got to work stamping 4 sets of flowers and leaves with my Altenew Stampwheel. I embossed a panel with Altenew's Simple Frame EF, arranged the flower and leaves on it and popped up that panel onto the card base. To finish, I stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from Altenew's Fresh Freesia. I love the way this turned out!

Hello Crafty Friend

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. Challenge #243 is up and running. It's a Photo Inspiration Challenge (see photo above). This looks just like myneat and pristine  craft space (insert wild guffawing here). For some reason, I really struggled with this one. I tried many things and none were to my liking. I wanted to go with a crafty theme, and my go to stamps were Paper Smooches I Heart Art, but nothing made me happy. In the end, I used my Stampwheel to create rainbow rays of colored pencils. It is so not my style, but here it is. I ran out of time and energy and I cried a little. LOL.

We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn. Challenge winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher to spend at the Lawn Fawn Store. Our winner will also be invited to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

Our Guest Designer this time is Heather Heroldt of Handmade by Heather. Heather is a frequent player at Time Out. Check our her blog for some wonderful inspiration.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Claire and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Aficiona-dough

My niece's husband treated us to a most fabulous evening featuring his home made pizza last Friday. When he gets into something, he does it with his entire being. He ordered sourdough starter from Italy to make this pizza. It was like eating clouds but crispy and oh so heavenly. Oh my, it was so good. So I had to make him a card. I used Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart stamps and dies, and then I fashioned a punny sentiment and printed it from my computer. The background is made with Spellbinders Plaid Company EF. There is a little leftover ink from a prior use that reminded me of crisp pizza crust, so I went with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #594 provided a perfect layout for my card.

I love the way this turned out. I can't wait to be the taste tester for more of Gareth's pizza experiments.

Seashells

I am a Jersey Girl, I am a beach girl. I really wanted to play this challenge at Just us Girls.

When I saw this challenge, I knew immediately that I had to play, and that I would use this NBUS cling rubber stamp set from Tim Holtz. The packaging has this awesome background that was very similar to a background that I had made a while ago - I can't even remember the technique, but I made many with it. I had the design in mind right away. I knew it would be a mini slimline. I used Prismacolor Pencils, which is not a strong suit for me. I am inspired to expand my coloring horizons by my dear friend Nonni, who is an incredible color artist. I am very pleased with the outcome, and so happy to join this JUGS challenge and use my NBUS supplies. I did not add a sentiment to the front, as it is quite busy enough. When I send it, I will figure out a sentiment for the inside.

Neverland

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out! For the next fortnight we challenge you to be Inspired by these words: "If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." ~ Albert Einstein.

We are generously sponsored by AALL & Create with a $20 Store Credit for the winner, and an offer to Guest Design with The Time Out Design Team for a future challenge.

We welcome Kim Heggins of Cupcakes, Cards and Kim as our Guest Designer. Kim is a former member of the Time Out Design Team, and we are thrilled to have her designing with us for this challenge.

I went with our sponsor's Peter Pan Stamp Set.  My idea was to fashion a hiding place for the lost boys using  a domed die cut and a woodgrain stamp.

Best Day Ever

These gorgeous cone flowers are the result of my Altenew Stampwheel 101 class with Michele. Lots of Yays there. I used Altenew ink cubes for the flower petals and stems, and PTI inks for the flower centers. I love the way they look on kraft, and the embossed background is a lovely stage for them.
