Start There

Time for a new challenge at Time Out. The theme for Challenge 117 is "Toes in the sand, wine in our hands. Life is good today. Let us be grateful for what makes us happy.".
You have until September 12th at 5:00 PM BST to enter.

Our sponsor is Uniko Stamps.
Challenge winner gets an in-stock stamp set of their choice.

For my card, I did a watercolor wash that resembles sand, sea and sky as my background. I applied white spatters that put me in mind of sea foam. The sentiment is all about gratitude as you awake each day and you are challenged to appreciate what you have, and to make the best of what lies ahead. I just LOVE this sentiment and to me, it fits perfectly with our challenge words.

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I can't wait to see how you are inspired as you post your card in the gallery!

Shine Brightly

Time for a reminder of the current challenge at Time Out. For Challenge #116, we challenge you to be BRIGHT.
You have until Aught 30th at 5:00 PM BST to enter.

Our sponsor is Happy Little Stampers.

Winner will receive a $20 gift voucher to the Happy Little Stampers Shop.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Anila Dikay of Novel Ideas Anila is a very talented  cardmaker with an eclectic style. Take a stroll through her blog. You are sure to be inspired.

The thing that I like most about my challenge card is the word "brightly" and how it came to be. The stamp set I used had the word "bright", but not "brightly". I am a certified grammar freak. I needed the word "brightly" for my sentiment. "Bright" would have been gramatically incorrect (in US English), so I set up the word "bright" on my large MISTI tool, and the word "family" on my small MISTI. I masked and moved the stamps around and stamped on scrap until I had it perfectly set to stamp the word "brightly" in 2 steps using 2 MISTI tools. That may seem a little crazy, but it had to be. It's how I roll. LOL!

This card will be going to my son who just started his Freshman Year of college. He is an awesome human being, and I am so excited for him. I know he will shine brightly as he continues his journey!

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see what Anila and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Then create a food/drink themed card and link up in the gallery. I can't wait to see how you are inspired!

Oh Snap!

It's a new month and that means a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge! The twist for August is SEQUINS. I wanted to do the twist, so I decided to create a shaker card. I used a pre-cut winow card from my stash for my card base. I made a shaker pouch with my Fuse tool and filled it with Pretty Pink Christmas sequins from Little Things From Lucy's CardsI then used the gingerbread cookie and a sentiment from Ellen Hutson's Tis The Season (retired) by Julie Ebersole to complete my card. The images and sentiments in this set just crack me up.

As for my card, my sons wanted to take their father out for sushi as birthday a gift, so I made them a "gift card". To create it, I stamped several images from Lawn Fawn's Let's Roll set, colored them with Copics, die cut and arranged them. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Birthday Sampler, and is heat embossed on a die cut banner.

Please head over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog and see what Hannelie and the Design Team have come up with to inspire you. Join us in the gallery to share your creation, and for a chance to win!

For my card, I used a "vintage" stamp that has been in my stash for many years from stampingbella.com - Cosmobella. She has been updated since she was first released in 2006, but I felt that she was perfect for this challenge. I colored her with Copics, stenciled some bubbles with Simonsaysstamp Falling Snow Stencil and added a sentiment from Paper Smooches.

You Are My Life's Anchor

Creative With Stamps Challenge #29 is up and running with the theme of "FATHER". I thought it was an interesting theme choice for August, but CWS Challenge Co-Creator Lilian was born in Taiwan where Father's Day is celebrated on August 8th, and chose the prompt for this challenge.

Challenge Sponsor is MHK Designs

Challenge winner will receive their choice of 3 products of their choice.

As I looked through my stash to find things that would work, I decided on my sentiment first from Altenew's Precious Moments. I then turned toward a nautical theme choosing a red, white and blue color scheme. I used a strip of patterned paper on the left, and stamped sailboats on the right. I stamped the two pieces of the sentiment on the Every Day Circles die cut from Concord & 9th, and there you go!

Inside, I stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment. My father is no longer with us, but this would be perfect for one of my sons to use for their dad's birthday.

Please head on over to the Creative With Stamps Blogcheck out what the Design Team has come up with to inspire you, and share your creation in the gallery.
