Monster Hugs

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS!
Challenge #169 - CREATURE
Toni is our Hostess With The Mostest!

Our Guest Designer is Vicky Hayes of Crafting Clare's Paper Moments. Vicky is a very talented  card designer. Do yourself a favor and take a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration. You will be so glad you did.

To make my card, I used the three little monsters (creatures) from Reverse Confetti's Monstrous Clear Stamp Set. I stamped them on watercolor paper, colored them with Zigs and cut them out with matching dies. I arranged them on a strip of SU DP that has been in my stash for years, and embossed the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Please head on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog, take a look at the wonderful inspiration pieces Vicky and the Design Team have created for your inspiration, and make something to share in the gallery. Challenge winner will be offered a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge. Happy crafting!

Mon Amie

Time Out Challenge #145 is up and running. Our theme is Breast Cancer Awareness with the option of One Layer and Pink. Your card can be one of encouragement, support, friendship, love, etc. Challenge Winner, chosen at random from those who use the option, will receive a $25.00 gift voucher to use in the CAS-ual Fridays Store. The Design Team will choose a winner who will be offered a Guest Designer spor for a future challenge.

This Challenge is sponsored by Michele Gross, owner of CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and Breast Cancer Survivor herself. This cause is very close to her heart, as it is to mine. To quote Michele, "By myself I can do a little, but together we can do more. A portion of every sale made here will be given to charitable foundations that are actively seeking cures and better treatment strategies for breast cancer, and all cancer, because not all cancers are pink."

Sidan is our Guest Designer for this challenge. Sidan is a wonderful designer with a unique style. Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog and leave her some love. You are sure to be inspired.

For my card, I used CAS-ual Fridays Mon Amie stamps. I simply stamped the image, colored it with Copic Markers, and added the sentiment. I think this is a perfect card for sending love and encouragement for any situation, but when a friend is going through cancer diagnosis and treatment, the best thing you can do is just be a friend. Say little. Support a lot. Cards are wonderful ways to engourage.

Happy Halloween!

I am thrilled to be posting a second card as CAS Mix Up Guest Designer for the Mid-Challenge post of the CAS Mix Up September 2019 Challenge where the theme is inchies. There is still time to play this challenge hosted by Joanna open until September 24th at midnight PDT. All of the details and instructions are on the CAS Mix Up Blog

I love the CAS Mix Up Challenge because it often encourages me to try things I have never tried before. The Design Team is comprised of super talented crafters, and their projects are always incredibly inspiring. I am thrilled to crafting along with them for this challenge.

Creating with inchies is a new for me. I decided to use dry embossing to make my inchies. I cut four 1" squares (wouldn't you know my 1" square Nestabilities die went missing somewhere along the way) and laid them right up against eachother in a row, inside a spiderweb embossing folder. After running it through the Cuttlebug, I inked the debossed side of the squares with Black Soot DO Ink. I mounted them on black cardstock and glued them on to my card base. I added a glittery spider with foam tape for dimension. Funny as I look at said spider, I see that I must have positioned its butt end a little off the glitter paper before I punched! Poor thing. I will replace that before the card goes in the mail. LOL!!! The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios If The Broom Fits set and stamped with SU Pumpkin Pie ink.

Please head over to the CAS Mix Up blog and check out the awesome creations that the Design Team has made for your inspiration. Remember, this is a Mixed Media CAS Challenge. Challenge Winner will be invited to be a Guest Designer for a future challenge.

There's No One Quite Like You

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS!
Challenge #168 - STYLE
Raga is our Hostess With The Mostest!

To make my card, I stamped the Fancy Dress image with a Hero Arts wood mounted rubber stamp that I have had in my stash for many years. I love this stamp, and thought it was perfect for this challenge. I framed it with a rectangular mask from  A Colorful Life Designs Marvelous Masks and inked around the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink. I used Copics to color the image and added lots of Wink Of Stella to add sparkle. The sentiment, which I thought was just perfect for the Code Word, is from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Encouragement. We all have our own style.

Please head on over to the ATCAS Challenge Blog, take a look at the wonderful inspiration pieces the Design Team has created for your inspiration, and make something to share in the gallery. Challenge winner will be offered a Guest Designer spot for a future challenge. Happy crafting!

Do It With Passion

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More. This time the theme is TYPOGRAPHY, defined as the style and appearance of printed matter. Just remember that there must be lots of clean white space on your card.

Our sponsor is Visible image.

For my card I used distress Inks with the Half Sun Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs to create my background. I then stamped the Do it With Passion stamp from Visible Image over it. To me, the fiery sun in the background creates an atmosphere of passion. I matted it on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and then glued it to my card base.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

Hi

Time Out Challenge #144 is up and running. This time it's a Home Sweet Home Challenge: a photo inspiration challenge with a homey twist!

Our wonderful sponsor is Poppy Stamps. Challenge winner will receive a gift voucher from Poppy Stamps

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is the incredibly talented Desert Diva Hannelie. I highly encourage you to treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. Her creations are awesome. Don't miss this opportunity to be inspired, and please leave her some love.

Here is a larger image of the photograph. If you look very carefully, there are many elements that you may not see upon first look!

When I spotted the pillow on the couch that is third from the left, I immediately thought of The Gossip Column: Geometric Generation Digital Elements - a freebie I downloaded from Winnie and Walter. I used that for the background of my card. I wanted to pick up something that was not so obvious in the photo. If you look on the shelf behind the couch, there is a sculpture of a pink hand and next to it, a little glass vase with a piece of greenery in it. When I saw that, I knew just what I would do. The wonky circle is from MFT. The hand is from Hands by Julie Ebersole, Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies and the greenery from Flora and Fauna Terrarium Cluster Dies.

Bonjour

I am super excited to be posting today as Guest Designer for the September 2019 CAS Mix Up Challenge where the theme is "inchies". Click HERE for full challenge details. I am absolutely honored to be designing along with these incredibly talented artists.

For my card, I decided to use the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3 Die as the apertures measure 1" square.  I found the perfect stamps in my stash from way back - an Impression Obsession set that doesn't even have a name on it. There are 8 images that are all 1" square. I inked four of them with various PTI inks, and stamped them on the 1" square die cuts. I inlaid them in the negative spaces of the PPP die.

I positioned the "bonjour" sentiment from Heffy Doodle's Hello Everyone set onto the Stitched Duo 3 die cut and stamped it using my MISTI. I removed the die cut, placed the card base in my MISTI positioning it so that the sentiment would be where I wanted it and stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. I then applied foam tape to the back of the die cut and adhered it to the card base matching the two stamped sentiments together. This achieved the effect of the sentiment going over the edge of the die cut, with the placement making the sentiment look continuous.

Please head over to the CAS Mix Up blog and check out the awesome creations that the Design Team has made for your inspiration.
