Aficiona-dough

My niece's husband treated us to a most fabulous evening featuring his home made pizza last Friday. When he gets into something, he does it with his entire being. He ordered sourdough starter from Italy to make this pizza. It was like eating clouds but crispy and oh so heavenly. Oh my, it was so good. So I had to make him a card. I used Lawn Fawn's Pizza My Heart stamps and dies, and then I fashioned a punny sentiment and printed it from my computer. The background is made with Spellbinders Plaid Company EF. There is a little leftover ink from a prior use that reminded me of crisp pizza crust, so I went with it.

Freshly Made Sketches #594 provided a perfect layout for my card.

I love the way this turned out. I can't wait to be the taste tester for more of Gareth's pizza experiments.

Our winner also will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer in a future challenge. Play along with us  for a chance to join our amazing Design Team as a Guest Designer and then have a blast shopping at Lawn Fawn with your prize voucher!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is one of our regular players - the ever so talented Claire Apostoloff of Life on the Scrap Heap and winner of Time Out Challenge #189.

For my card, I went straight to food, and chose Guac On Stamps and Dies by Julie Ebersole for Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps. I just love these fun and happy little avos. I found this wonderful background panel in my snippet box that I had saved from a commercial greeting card that I had received. It was the perfect stage for my avos... those circled flowers remind me of limes - the prefect compliment for avocados. So I upcycled it and added it to my card. You can't see in the photo, but the background is all glittery and sparkly. I imagine my avos are doing a happy dance, a bow and/or a congratulatory nod to each other for a job well done. I can't wait for the perfect occasion to use this card. I love it!

Hey, Wasabi?

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out!!! Time Out Challenge #169 is a theme challenge in which the theme is "Season" with an optional twist of coloring. Many of us will immediately think of the four seasons of the year, but we can also season our food with herbs and spices, or become a seasoned (experienced) player or professional... there are many ways to go with this. It's always fun to see how artists interpret a theme.

We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps.

I really wanted to go in a different direction than seasons of the year with this one. I looked through my entire stash for something in the herbs and spices category, but did't really have anything like that. They I thought about the Essentials by Ellen Wasabi set and decided what I was going to do.

I combined the sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch #386 and the theme from Inspired By Challenge #IB138, and came up with my card. The idea is that sushi can be "seasoned" with soy sauce and wasabi and ginger, etc. That might be a little far out of the box, but that is the way I went. I was too late to enter my card in the Inspired By Challenge, but it was definitely part of my inspiration. I stamped, colored and die cut the images from Wasabi and arranged them on the diagonal on a panel that is embossed with the SU Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Some of the die cuts are popped up and some are not. I am so happy with the way it came out.

I Forgot!

Hello! And Happy New Year!

I am so very excited and honored to announce, that I have joined the Less is More Design Team! Woot!!  This is my first post as a LIM Designer. When I first began blogging, I was all about the layers and embellishments. When The Less Is More Challenge first opened, I had never tried and was quite terrified of CAS design. I began to play, and as time went on, I got the hang of it and fell in love. Now it is largely my cardmaking style.  I am so happy to be part of this amazing team of crafters. Here we go!

Water in any of its forms...ice, snow, mist, liquid...

Our sponsor is

Our Guest Designer is our October 2018 winner: Viv of Daizy-Mae's Crafty Blog. Viv's designs and coloring skills are fantastic! Treat yourself to a visit to her blog. You will be so glad you did.

For my card, I used Hero Arts Enjoy the Journey stamps and dies to make this punny belated birthday card. I created the water with Hero Arts Dark Teal Liquid Watercolor. I stamped the ship on watercolor paper, colored it with Zigs, die cut, and placed it on the watercolor background in the aperture.

Please head on over to the Less Is More Challenge Blog, see the awesome creations the Design Team has created for your inspiration, and come play wiith us! All challenge details are available on the HERE.

Twisted

I used Freshly Made Sketches #230 for the layout and Paper Smooches Calorie Free stamps and dies to put it together. For the background, I laid a panel of punched mylar on my card, masked it, then  sprayed it with Dylusions Fresh Lime Ink Spray.  I stamped the pretzels with Rusty Hinge over Fossilized Amber distress inks with my MISTI.  I used some white Flower Soft on them to give them a salty effect!! This was a really fun one.

Thanks for stopping in today.

So Excited

I am so tickled with this card. It was so much fun putting it together.  It was born of a combination of three challenges.

I started out with inspiration from Time Out Challenge #32 - CASE Deepti's card above with your own twist. I began to think about the elements in Deepti's lovely card and how to twist them into my own creation.  My new Paper Smooches Big Vase Dies came to mind, and then my idea began to take shape. I filled my die cut vases with flowers from Paper Smooches Twiggy Florets that I embossed in green on the black background and the inlaid white vases. My images and sentiment are all from Paper Smooches so it works for this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - May 31- June 6 Anything Goes (wk5).

I embossed the flowers in green again on vellum, colored them with Copics from behind, and adhered them with glue dots.  I so love the sentiment, so I embossed it to make it stand out on the black background . The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers' current challenge is "V is for Vellum". The vellum flowers and punny saying fit right in

Thank you for coming by today. Your comments are welcome and appreciated. Have a wonderful day!
