Chestnuts Roasting

I was digging deep into the black hole of my stash today, and I ran across this wonderful SU background stamp that I have had forever... then I found this wonderful stamp set (Subway Series Holidays) from Fresh Squeezed Stamps which is sadly no longer in business. I looked at some challenges for inspiration, put them all together, and this is what happened!

Hope Your Day Is Fabulous

I saw THIS card by Laurie of Stampin Up North, and I just loved it so much.  I've had butterflies in my creative thoughts a lot lately since I connected with a new crafty friend in blogland who works wonders with butterflies. I decided to pull out my yet un-inked PTI Beautiful Butterflies,  Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamps and matching dies and CASE Laurie's card. I just love the way the 3 shades of green work with the stamps, and that little bit of green bling really finishes it off nicely.

This creation was inspired by the following challenges:

I prefer Clean & Simple to a lot of layers, but the embossed top panel and the butterfly with it's wings folded up a bit give this card simple layers and dimension.

Butterflies, greens = spring! Finally!

Thanks Laurie for the inspiration, and thank you for coming by my blog today.

CQC #282 - Hello

I really pulled out a lot of things from my stash for this one!  I happened to have both SU blues - both retired - AND the matching markers for them. When I looked at the inspiration photo, the Tipped Tops Die from PTI came to mind.  Then the flowers reminded me of a beautiful set of flowers by Joanna Sheen - Summer Flowers For Pots.  I paper pieced the larger flowers and colored in the small ones. These stamps are very special as they were sent to me by a dear friend in England. The vintage look made me pull out some Tea Die distress ink. I also used yellow Stickles in the centers of the flowers which is hard to see on this pic.  The yellow rhinestone - also from stash that has been sitting forever.  Very pleased with this one.  Thanks of coming over to take a look!  Check out the beautiful creations at Colour Q this week! Have a great weekend.

You're Invited

I needed to come up with an invitation for my twin sons' graduation party. I spent a rainy day on Saturday working on an idea, and this is the final product.  I used a combination of challenges for inspiration. The Dynamic Duos color choice for this week was perfect as their school colors are green and white.  I chose gold for the "other color" using metallic for the embossing and a mustardy gold for the base of the circle on the top. I also used the Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge elements of punch/die, patterned paper, and dots (I have no enamel so I substituted the self-adhesive half pearl on the cap).

Thanks so much for stopping in today. Spring is still struggling to spring here in the Northeast... Hope springs eternal.
