Christmas Shaker Card

Time Out Challenge #252 starts today with the Theme of Winter/Holiday. We are sponsored by Birch Press Design. Winner will receive a $20.00 Store Credit to the Birch Press Store, and will get an invitation to be a Guest Designer for a future Challenge at Time Out.

TIME OUT IS ALSO HAVING A DT CALL!
Please click HERE for details.

Our Guest Designer is Jen Elliot of Live.Craft.Repeat. Jen is a very talented crafter, and a frequent participant of Time Out. Do treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration!

For my card, I dug very deeply into the depths of my stash and dug out the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2016 Kit. I've seen some snow globes out there lately that really inspired me, so I decided to make one. I always feel like I have to fiddle too much with shakers and all the bits find their way to the desk, floor, my hair... but I was bound and determined to get this one right. Most of what I used was from the kit, except the little bow die cut on the lower right, and the tiny star background which was stamped with VersaMark using a HeroArts Cling background stamp.

Gather your Winter/Holiday supplies and head over to the Time Out Challenge Blog for some awesome inspiration from our Guest Designer Jen and the Design team. Come play with us!!!

Love You More Than All The Stars

Time Out #214 begins today. It's an Inspired By Words Challenge. The quote is "A day without sunshine is, you know, night."

The challenge runs from Thursday, May 19th  to Wednesday, June 1st. We are generously sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays. Winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher. Our Guest Designer is the incredibly talented Trina Pham of Phamtastic Designs.

In trying to come up with a design, my mind went to the August 2017 Hero Arts My Monthly hero kit. I love this kit. It is full of night themed stamps and dies and other supplies. I created a night sky background with Distress Oxide inks and the metallic sprays from the kit. I stamped and heat embossed images and a sentiment from the kit, and my card was complete.

Cheers

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More - OLC - Cheers.

Our Guest Designer is the lovely and talented and our July winner Angie Cimbalo. Angie's work is so inspiring. Do visit her and you are sure to be glad you did!

For this one, I immediately thought of Avery Elle's Mimosas stamp set. I pulled it out and used the clinking champagne glasses, embossing then with Rose Gold EP, and added the sentiment from a Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit that I have had for years. Very CAS, and I am pleased with it.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Love You More Than All The Stars

Time for a new challenge at Time Out! For Time Out Challenge #146, we challenge you to be ENCOURAGING. We are  sponsored by Newtons's Nook. Winner will receive a $25 gift voucher for the Newton's Nook Store.

Our awesome Guest Designer is Shawna of The Grand Stampede. Shawna's work is gorgeous. You will surely enjoy a stroll through her blog. Say hello and leave her some love!

I made this card for my son with the intention of sending love and encouragement as he navigates his second year of college, but his first year as a transfer student to a whole new environment. He is a stellar student, but the work has been tough, and the social scene a little challenging coming in as a sophmore. Things are looking up, and I am incredibly proud of him. There is a song that my boys and I all love called "Sky Full Of Stars" by Coldplay. This card makes me think of that and I think he will love it.

I used a stencil, die and sentiment from the celestial-themed My Monthly Hero August 2017 Kit to create this card along with Distress Oxide, Delicata and VersaFine inks. I am so pleased with the way it came out.

Please head over the the Time Out Challenge Blog and see what the marvelous DT has created to inspire you. Come play with us!

Let's Be Mermaids!

The August Anything Goes With Dies Challenge has begun at Happy Little Stampers. As always, anything goes as long as you use dies on your project. The winner for this challenge will receive a $20 coupon to spend at the Happy Little Stampers Shop! Check out all the details HERE.

IT's no secret that I am in love with Ellen Hutson's MERMAID'S TAIL set by Julie Ebersole. I can't get enough of it. For this card, I embossed the tail with silver EP (SU), blended with distress inks and die cut. The background is stenciled with DOX inks using the stencil from the May 2017 Hero Arts Monthly Card Kit. I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, and embellished with Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Crystal Drops.

The Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes With Dies Design Team has created some wonderful die cut inspiration for you. Please head on over to the HLS AGWD Challenge, check out the DT projects and leave the DT some love. Break out some dies, create a project with them, and link up in the gallery for a chance to win!
