Happy Birthday Jon

Today is my twin sons' 17th birthday. Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town.... (Joni Mitchell - Circle Game)

Anyway, Jon LOVES his lattes. I love him a latte. So it seemed only right to make him a latte themed card. CASology's current cue is COFFEE, so put that all together and this is what happened:

How 16 springs and 16 summers have gone by so quickly is a mystery to me, but here we are. Jon is a beautiful young man both inside and out.  This morning I was thinking about tomorrow's driver's test, and what a huge thing that is to both parent and child. I said to Jon, "I will miss you in my car".  And will I ever. Years and years of singing with my boys at the top of our lungs.  Some of the best, funniest and important conversations happened with them in my car. I love you. Please be safe in every way imaginable. As you take this huge step on your way to adulthood, keep me tucked in your heart. Love, Mom.

What a lovely post, Stephanie, and happy belated to your boys. I have to say that drink looks super yummy and I love the striped straw! Thanks for playing along with CASology this week!

Terrific card, Stephanie! I love the details and layers, from the coffee rings to the heart on the sleeve to the sentiment! As much as I didn't mind giving up driving them everywhere, I really do miss the great conversations that happened along the way. Thanks for playing along with us at CASology this week!

I love your card a latte but what really captures my heart is your post expressing your deep love for your son! Your relationship with him (and his twin, of course) sounds marvelous! My brother, also named Jon, are 14 years apart (me the 'much older' sister). I so enjoyed spending time with him as he grew up...baseball games, volley-ball tournaments and just all-around 'whatever'. Earning his driver's license was definitely a turning point but...it wasn't long before he simply became 'my' driver rather than me, his. I bet the same will happen with you and your guys! May the loud singing and important conversations carry on with you both! Who's in the driver's seat may change, but the togetherness never will!
