The Thought Of You Makes Me Smile

Time Out Challenge #186 begins today. We are challenged to create something with the theme of PETS with an optional twist of coloring in any medium.

Our challenge runs from Thursday, April 22nd to Wednesday, May 5. Our wonderful sponsor is Newton's Nook Designs. A random Winner will be chosen from those who twist to receive a $25.00 gift voucher to the Newton's Nook Store.

To create my card, I stamped the sleeping kitty cupcake image from Waffle Flower's Flora Cat Dream stamp set on to Neenah Solar White 80# card stock and colored it with Copics. I stamped the sentiment above and below from the same set with VersaFine Onyx Black ink, then I die cut the white panel with Spellbinders Rectangle Hemstitch Dies and mounted it on a Kraft card base.

Have a Joyous Easter

I am here as Guest Designer with my reminder card for the March/April Uniko Challenge #64 - Signs of Spring with an optional twist of Easter. It has been such an honor and a joy to design among these lovely people who are some of my favorite crafting rock stars. I am grateful to have had the opportunity.

For my card, I chose to use the Uniko Mid Century Modern Florals Clear Stamp Set. I just love the images in the set. I binge-watched the entire Mad Men series while on lockdown and I can't tell you how many times I thought of these stamps as I studied the furniture and fashion on the sets of the show. Rather than go with spring pastel colors, I went with some bolder colors in rainbow order. I popped an Easter sentiment from Paper smooched in as it fit perfectly between two of the flowers. I just love the way it turned out.

Please head over to the Uniko Challenge to be inspired and to play along. Thank you Bev and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors for having me.

Happy Easter

I am thrilled to be here as Guest Designer for Uniko Challenge #64 - Signs of Spring. Uniko is celebrating nine years of business. Owner Bev Brown is a very talented crafter, designer and business woman. She wears many hats and wears them well. Congratulations Bev, and thanks for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge.

Last week temps hit 75 here in New Jersey in the US, and it was such a joy to have a taste of Spring. Today we are expecting a little snow, but there is hope! A hopeful heart is so welcome. I have been reflecting a lot about the past year, and though it was full of difficulty, there were also many pearls. Signs of Spring help me to focus on those.

To create my card, I used Uniko's Originally Organic stamps and dies. I heat embossed the images with white EP on heavy weight vellum and die cut them. I randomly inked a script background stamp with VersaMark and white heat embossed it on Kraft card stock. I then applied splatters of  Copic Opaque White Pigment with a paint brush. Once that was dry, I glued the floral and sentiment die cuts to the Kraft panel and adhered it to a white card base. Happy Birthday, Uniko, and Happy Spring!

For My Love

Time Out Challenge #181 begins today.  We are challenged to create a card inspired by the photo below.

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is:

Our Guest Designer this week is  Nancy of Nancy's Creative Mess. Nancy is a very talented crafter who often creates in a CAS style. Treat yourself to a visit to her wonderful blog, and show her some love.

To create my card, I used CAS-ual Fridays Heart Board Dies to cut several nesting hearts in shades of red and pink. I had these little rolled flowers in my snippet box for ages that look like the candied flowers on the cookies in the photo. I added them along with some stamped and die cut leaves from Altenew's Wings of Hope stamp and die sets. I popped the hears up with fun foam, and adhered them to the white panel debossed with Altenew's Doted Swirls Debossing Cover Die. The red card base is from Gina K. The sentiment is from CAS-ual Fridays Love Notes stamp set (retired).

Oh Ship!

I was just so amused by this photo inspiration at Inskpirational #218, and as soon as I saw it, I knew just what supplies I was going to use to play! The tentacles are from a Hero Arts wood mounted stamp that I have had forever and never used. The ship and sentiment are from a Hero Arts clear stamp set called Enjoy The Journey. I stamped and clear embossed the tentacles, then masked them and stenciled the dots using the Falling Snow stencil from SSS with Memento Love Letter ink. I colored everything with Zigs and popped up the boat and sentiment. It just keeps cracking me up. I love it.

Love You

I love this photo inspiration at Inspired By...  Spring Is Here Challenge. I came up with a design that I really loved for this challenge with some quite old and some some new supplies. The wreath was a wood mounted rubber stamp that I removed from the wood block. Using my MISTI, colored it with SU markers using light and dark pinks and greens (ancient and still fabulous) about a third of the image at a time, and stamped. I used the matching die to cut out the wreath. I stenciled the stripes, and added the sentiment. I just love the way it turned out.

Here are the supplies that I used:
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath wood mounted rubber stamp
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath craft die
Stampin' Up markers applied direct to stamp
SSS Tiny Words Encouragement stamps
Pink and Main Sentiment Strip Die
SSS Diagonal Stripe stencil
PTI Soft Stone Ink
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
