Hearts for Greg

I made lots of Valentines over the weekend. This one is for my son, Greg. Hopefully it will arrive at his place along with a bag of Reece's hearts by Wednesday. A wonderful crafty friend was so kind to cut a bunch of these wonderful tags for me with her PTI Tag Sale: Quilted Die that I so wish I had bought long ago. I stamped the hearts with 9 shades of red Distress Oxide Inks, die cut them and arranged them on the tag which I popped up with fun foam after adding a panel of Echo Park PP, a sentiment from Stamp Simply and a little twine. I had my Valentine for this special guy who is so dear to my heart.

I made this Valentine for my pie-loving son using Spellbinders Pie Perfection Collection Dies. Looking at it now, I wish I had used less busy paper in the background, but he already received it and loved it, so my job is done!

A Turkey Should Be Dressed!

Thanksgiving is by far, my favorite holiday. This year is a tough one, as it is the first since my sister's passing in December. I wanted to make a card for my nieces that would lift them but nothing goopy. The feast will be at the house they grew up in and I know emotions will run high.  I thought this was perfect.

Color Hues Happy Birthday

I love these colors and am so happy I had a little time to play in my craft room today. I smooshed 3 orange Distress Oxide inks on to a piece of watercolor paper, then sprayed it with Color Shine. When dry, I die cut it with Concord & 9th's Potpourri Die. I cut it a second time from SU Basic Gray and glued the two together slightly askew. I glued the die cuts to  Basic Gray card base and added a foiled, die cut sentiment from my snippet box. To finish I glued some bling from Gina K and my card was complete.

I'm Yours

Time for a new challenge at Time Out! Challenge #230 starts today and runs through February 1st. It's an Inspired By Words Challenge where the words are: "The single most important thing I've ever done with my life is to fall in love with you." ~ Beth Pearson - This is Us. That was a tv show so near and dear to my heart.

We welcome Julia Aston of Create With Me and winner of Time Out Challenge #227 as our Guest Designer.

I am so excited to share that we have a new sponsor - AALL & CreateFrom our Sponsor's Eshop: "Discover AALL & Create’s range of exclusive products, as featured on Create and Craft TV! Our product range is developed by an international team of artists and are designed to be used in many different kinds of artwork and project, including mixed media, scrapbooking, card-making and more. so get them while you can and spread the word!"

I am in love with AALL & Create's products, and have used two in my card. If you are familiar with my work, you will know that this is pretty far out of my comfort zone. I LOVE the way the stamps and stencil I chose that were so generously gifted by our sponsor, made me think outside the box.  My card is a big twist on our words! The series of "Dee" stamps and sentiments is hilarious. Check the spaghetti strap on Dee's dress! I made this with my Valentine in mind, and I giggled a few times as I was making it.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Echinacea - Coneflower

Less Is More #471 starts today. We are challenged to create a ONE LAYER, CAS card featuring our favorite flower. That means a card base only with stamping - no die cuts or additional panels.

My card features Echinacea, which is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the daisy family. It has ten species, which are commonly called coneflowers. They are found only in eastern and central North America, where they grow in moist to dry prairies and open wooded areas. I live in northeastern US (New Jersey), and this plant is doing beautifully in my gardens.

I recently got some goodies from Doodle Bug including the gorgeous Altenew Build A Flower Coneflower stamp and die bundle, so I decided to use the stamps with various Altenew Inks to create my one layer card for this challenge. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

You're In My Thoughts

Less Is More #465 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card with a a rainbow theme.

To create my card, I used the wreath from Pinkfresh Studio's Rainbow Floral Washi that was die cut with the matching die. This snippet was gifted to me by a dear friend along with the other washi images from the roll. Thank you, friendy! I simply popped up the wreath with SU Dimensionals and added a sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio's Forever In Our Hearts that was heat embossed with white EP on black card stock. Super simple, easy peasy.

You Are In My Thoughts

Time Out #212 begins today, It's a  photo theme challenge : Spring.  The challenge runs from Thursday, April 21st to Wednesday, May 4th. We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps. Once again, we welcome Ã…sa Johansson of Scrapat helt enkelt and winner of Time Out Challenge #208 as our Guest Designer for this challenge.

To create my card, I stamped SSS Gerbera Daisy Background cling stamp with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink onto Bristol Paper, heat embossed it with WOW clear embossing powder and painted it with Zigs in purple hues as inspired by the photo on the challenge badge. I cut the panel down, backed it with fun foam and adhered it to a black card base. I stamped a sentiment from SSS Well Wishes onto a piece of white card stock, cut it out and adhered it to the floral panel.

In Low Or High Tide

Time Out #209 begins today, It's an Inspired By Words challenge where we are challenged to be CUTE. The challenge runs from Thursday, March 10th to Wednesday, March 23rd. We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

Challenge winner as chosen by our Design Team will receive $25.00 in Lawn Fawn store credit. In addition, our winner will be eligible for a guest designer spot in a future Time Out challenge.

We welcome Sue Symens of Sentimentally Sue and winner of Time Out Challenge #205 as our Guest Designer for this challenge. Sue is a super talented paper crafter whose style is often CAS and loves to use graphic design in her in her art. Her blog is so inspiring. Go take a look!

For my card I used the adorable Octopus and a sentiment from Catherine Pooler's Ocean Chums. I colored her with Copics and popped her up on a background panel stenciled with the Waves stencil from Simon Says Stamps and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink. That panel is die cut with a Nordic Frames Die from The Greetery. I added some clear drops, stamped and clear embossed the sentiment and my card was complete.
