Hi-drangea

Spring is in full swing at The Four Seasons Challenge. It is our third final Spring themed challenge for 2024. This gorgeous mood board is there for your inspiration, but anything Spring goes.

I took my inspiration from the photo on the top right. I did not have a lilac image to use, so I went with a hydrangea and used lots of purple hues in my creation. Take a look at the moodboard, and see what inspires you. The Design Team members have created wonderful projects to inspire you. Check them out on the challenge blog HERE. Make yourself a cuppa, get crafty, and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you create!

Hello Spring

I am so pleased to be here as Guest Designer for the April Four Seasons Spring Challenge that starts today, April 1st.

Here is the mood board for the challenge:

I love Magnolias - Pink, Star, Chinese, Figo... you name it. Growing up, there was a huge Pink  Magnolia tree in our front yard that had been planted by my grandfather as a gift to our family. Every year when in bloomed in all of its magnificence, we would pray everyday that a spring frost would not come and turn it all brown. I have been thinking of that tree, especially with the fluctuation in our weather here is the northeastern part of the US, and it seemed fitting that for my Spring card, I would go with Magnolias.

I embossed a 4x5.5 panel of 110 lb. card stock with  the SSS Magnolias Embossing Folder. I used blending brushes to apply 3 shades of pink Distress Oxide Inks directly onto the EF. I ran it though my die cutting machine and got this beautiful result. I added sentiments from Neat & Tangled Hello Spring stamps and dies and glued some Dew Drops and my card was complete.

Thank you so much Darlene and Diane, for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge. Please head on over to the Four Seasons Challenge blog and check out what the fabulous Design Team has come up with to get your creative juices flowing.

Have a Joyous Easter

I am here as Guest Designer with my reminder card for the March/April Uniko Challenge #64 - Signs of Spring with an optional twist of Easter. It has been such an honor and a joy to design among these lovely people who are some of my favorite crafting rock stars. I am grateful to have had the opportunity.

For my card, I chose to use the Uniko Mid Century Modern Florals Clear Stamp Set. I just love the images in the set. I binge-watched the entire Mad Men series while on lockdown and I can't tell you how many times I thought of these stamps as I studied the furniture and fashion on the sets of the show. Rather than go with spring pastel colors, I went with some bolder colors in rainbow order. I popped an Easter sentiment from Paper smooched in as it fit perfectly between two of the flowers. I just love the way it turned out.

Please head over to the Uniko Challenge to be inspired and to play along. Thank you Bev and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors for having me.

Spring

Challenge #106 has begun at Time Out Challenges. This gorgeous, springy Home-Sweet-Home inspiration photo really sang to me. I used several elements of the picture to compose my card: the  blue pedestal on which the vase is standing, the design on the vase, the Forsythia, that touch of gold in the forks that are laying on the napkin, and lastly, the hope in my heart as I welcome this new season and the newness and warmth that it holds.

The challenge runs from Thursday, March 29th to Wednesday April 11th.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Altenew.
Challenge winner will receive a $20 gift voucher for the Altenew Store.

Our fabulous Guest Designer is Sarah Gray. Sarah's BLOG is chock full of wonderful card designs.  Sarah's card, gift and home decor designs are available for purchase on Folksy. Give yourself a treat and check both out for lots of arty inspiration.

Head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog, and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I can't wait to see how the photo inspires you!

Happy Peepster

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!
I am playing at the following chllneges:

I used Freshly Made Sketches #282 for my design.

The three stitched squares are die cut with SSS Stitched Squares dies, and the peeps are die cut with SSS My Kind Of Peep dies.

Pastel plaids (MFT) and peeps.

Darnell's 2nd Annual April Fool's Boo-Boo Hop and NBUS Challenge #11

I bought SSS My Kind Of Peep stamps and dies last year and never used them until today. I am also posting this card

for Darnell's My Big Fat Card Boo Boo. This was my first pass at Freshly Made Sketch #282. I loved it, and then I went back to read the fine print of the challenge, and saw the part that said that it's an all square sketch!  Oooooooops!!!!! My original card was 4/25 x 5.5. I love the sketch and wanted to enter the challenge, so I started over and made the square card at the top of this post. This cracked me up. Gotta leave it to Darnell to provide a place to share our bloopers!

Easter Joy

There is a new CAS game up at AAA Cards Challenge Blog with a theme of "Shiny Spring" - a Spring inspired card with the optional twist of the addition of a shiny element.

Happy Little Stampers is sponsoring the challenge with a $20 gift certificate from the Happy Little Stampers Store, for the winner!

Trina Pham of My Crafting Closet is Guest Designer for this challenge. Trina has a wonderful style, and her coloring is awesome! You will surely be inspired by her creations when you check out her blog.

Here is my take:

I love Verve's retired Easter Joy set. It comes out every year at this time - I never grow tired of it. I embossed it in gold (my shiny twist) and colored it with Zigs.

Please check out Challenge #87 on the AAA Cards Challenge blog, see what Trina and the DT has created to enliven your imagination. Create a spring-themed card, link up, and play! Don't forget that AAA Challenges are all cards, and all CAS! for the AAA definition of CAS, click HERE.

Let The Earth Rejoice

In creating this Easter card for my mother, I blended a rainbow of distress inks on a white panel, and topped it another white panel die cut with PTI's Harlequin Cover Plate. The sentiment, which is from a Verve set that I have had for years: Everlasting Life, is heat embossed on vellum.

Joyous Easter

Today I am feeling a little Spring in my step. It snowed last night but the air is warming and the temps should be around 70 by the end of the week. Trees are blooming, crocus and daffodils and hyacinths  are up... Yay.  I made this Easter card for my sweet nephew Thomas. He is such a sweetie - 6 months old and the happiest guy I know. Images are Paper Smooches (carrot, bunny, bird and sentiment) and MFT (grass). Background inside circle is polka dot vellum from PTI with a little tint of Tumbled Glass distress ink.

I am linking my card to the following challenges:

Thank so much for stopping in today!
