The World Needs Your Gifts

Less Is More #472 starts today and ends on September 9th. We are challenged to create a Clean & Simple card using Vellum.

My card features the Jumbo Curiosity Dragonfly Die Cut from The Greetery. I cut it from a remnant of Alcohol Inked card stock placed the over a die cut circle of vellum from a wedding invitation. I adhered my dragonfly and vellum circle to an embossed circle created with one of the dies from the PinkFresh Braided Circles Die Set. The sentiment is from The Gray Muse's You Grow Girl stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed with Wow Clear EP.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Happy Christmas

Less Is More #469 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card using traditional Christmas Colors.

To create my card, I stamped the Mistletoe & Holly image from the CAS-ual Fridays stamp set of the same name. I colored it with Copics and Wink Of Stella. I die cut the bow in red glitter paper from the matching dies and glued it to the image. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Christmas and my card was complete.

Love You

I love this photo inspiration at Inspired By...  Spring Is Here Challenge. I came up with a design that I really loved for this challenge with some quite old and some some new supplies. The wreath was a wood mounted rubber stamp that I removed from the wood block. Using my MISTI, colored it with SU markers using light and dark pinks and greens (ancient and still fabulous) about a third of the image at a time, and stamped. I used the matching die to cut out the wreath. I stenciled the stripes, and added the sentiment. I just love the way it turned out.

Here are the supplies that I used:
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath wood mounted rubber stamp
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath craft die
Stampin' Up markers applied direct to stamp
SSS Tiny Words Encouragement stamps
Pink and Main Sentiment Strip Die
SSS Diagonal Stripe stencil
PTI Soft Stone Ink
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink

Team You

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted To CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #183 is ANIMAL. Jaydee is our hostess!

For my card, I stamped this adorable image from Picket Fence Studios' Stand In The Sunshine, colored it with Copics and die cut it with the matching dies. I stenciled a small area of the card base with Tim Holtz's Woodgrain stencil using Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink, and placed the die cut on top of it popping it up with foam tape. The sentiment from SSS CZ Design Simple Sentiments 02 is heat embossed, die cut with a Pink & Main Sentiment Strip die, and popped up with foam tape.

Love You

Hello!!
It's a new month, and it's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #177 is OMBRE. Barb is our lovely hostess!

For my one layer, very simple card, I stencilled one of the hearts from Funky Fossils Four Hearts stencil with three red shades of Distress Oxide ink. It really does have an ombre look, but the picture does not pick that up well. I then stamped the sentiment from SSS Kristina's Love stamp set over the stencilled heart with VersaFine Onyx Blank Ink.

Time for a new Challenge at Less Is More! And it's our 9th birthday!!!!! Woo Hoo! Less Is More is definitely responsible for my love of the Clean & Simple genre of card making. I was so afraid of it wasy back then, and one layer cards just terrified me. Fast forward 9 years, and now those things are my prefecrence. I am so glad you were born, LIM. Thanks Chrissie and Mandi for bringing this wonderful challenge into the cardmaking world!

We have a very fun theme for this challenge: Less (tiny and few).
So we are challenging you to think about how small you can go with your images and sentiments, and how few you can use too!

Our awesome sponsor for February is Uniko. Uniko just happens to be celebrating their 8th birthday this month! So lots to celebrate! Go visit the Uniko Store and check out the fabulous new release!

Bev Brown, lovely owner of Uniko, is our Guest Designer for our dual birthday challenge.

For my card, I used an image from Uniko's Paradise Hummingbird, colored it with SU markers, and stamped it on a 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock. I colored the image with WOS to give it some sparkle, added a sentiment from the same set and embossed the wonky circle from MFT to frame it out.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

O Christmas Tree

Time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS. Our Code Word for ATCAS Challenge #174 is TREE.
CEAL is our Hostess

Our Guest Designer is Vicky Hayes. Vicky is a lovely person and a very talented card maker who works wonders with design and color. Do yourself a favor and take a stroll through her blog for some wonderful inspiration. You will be so glad you did.

My card is created very simply using foiling and embossing. I printed a full sheet of card stock on a laser printer to use for foiling. I applied Ken Oliver's Stick It adhesive to the back of the piece from which I was going to die cut the Memory Box Flowering Christmas Tree. Once I cut the tree, I covered it with Gina K's Glittering Green Fancy Foil foil, and ran it through my laminator. I embossed the sentiment from Stamp Simply's O Christmas Tree on the card front, peeled the backing off the tree and adhered it to the card front to complete the card.
