Enjoy Thanksgiving

There 's a new challenge up on the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog where it is Anything Goes Stencil Week. Elizabeth is our host.

Nancy Salkeld of SoulStampin' completes her month long Guest Designer gig here at Just Us Girls with this challenge. She is a wonderful designer, and a pleasure to work with. Thanks Nance for all your wonderful contributions to our September challenges. It has been a joy to have you designing with us.

For my card I used these wonderful layering stencils from Simon Says Stamp with many different Distress Oxide Inks in Fall colors. The design came together beautifully. I wanted to keep it simple with a large sentiment. I chose this wonderful hero Arts sentiment that has been in my stash for many years. Once added on my Altenew label dies, my card was finished.

Please head over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and see the awesome cards that Nance and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Grab a cuppa, some stencils and inks and join us in the gallery! I can't wait to see what you create!

Happy Fall!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around, we are challenged to create a card that is inspired by these words: "As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see."

We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps. Winner will receive a $20.00 store credit to the Poppystamps store.
We thank you Poppystamps, for your generosity!

We are joined by Deborah Wheeler of Deborah's Crafty Blog, and winner of Time Out #268 as Guest Designer.  We are so happy to have her with us. Check out her challenge card on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

Regarding my card, I used several new items from Honey Bee to create this Fall bouquet in this wonderful rattan basket. It was fun to put it together die cutting from scraps of solid and patterned papers. I attached a sentiment and my card was complete.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Susan and the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Come play with us!

Happy Birthday To You

There 's a new challenge up on the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog where it is Moodboard Week and Ina is our host. It is Spring where she lives, so she has chosen flowers to inspire us.

Here is an enlargement of the photo to give a closer look at the detail of the photo.

Nancy Salkeld of SoulStampin' continues with us as Guest Designer for the month of September. Be sure to check out Nance's blog for some wonderful inspiration.

For my card I used some things that were gifted to me by a dear friend - the Washi flowers and the patterned paper. I combined the Washi flowers and some die cuts to create a bunch of flowers mimicking the photo and added a birthday sentiment.

Hope Anchors The Soul

There 's a new challenge up on the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog. Sue is our host and she has chosen a wonderful word for us: HOPE, which is often defined as to want something to happen or be the case. There are so many directions in which to go with this word.

Nancy Salkeld of SoulStampin' with us as Guest Designer for the month of September. Be sure to check out Nance's blog for some wonderful inspiration.

For my card, I smooshed a background for this single stamp from Neat & Tangled, stamped in versaMark and white heat embossed it, did some outlining with Copics, added some sequins and my card was complete. In difficult times, I always turn to the sea for comfort. It seemed perfect to use this image for my hope themed card.

Please head over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and see the awesome cards the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Choose one to CASE, make it your own, and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you create!

Reality Called

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around, we are challenged to be "snarky". This word has a wide range of definitions, but commonly means mocking, sarcastic, ill-tempered, irritable... you get the picture. It's all in good fun!

We are generously sponsored by Funky Fossil Designs. Winner will receive a $25.00 store credit to the Funky Fossil store.
Thank you Sarah, for your generosity!

We are joined by Susan Sudbury of Eden Land Designs, and winner of Time Out #267 as Guest Designer.  Susan is a super talented crafter and a delightful and funny person. We are so happy to have her with us.

Regarding my card, the Retro Ephemera People from STAMPlorations immediately came to mind for this one. I paired one with a sentiment from AALL&Create's Miss Dee. Those images and sentiments are hysterical, and this one worked perfectly. I backed the image and sentiment panels with the current Color Hues colors of rust and green. Then I channeled my inner Michele Ferguson and added some gray to complete my card.

Hello Fall!

I had the good fortune of being chosen as the winner of the Day Of The Month Card Club July Challenge. With that win came an opportunity to join the Design Team as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

I am excited to be posting here as Guest Designer for the Day Of The Month Card Club Challenge #67 where the theme is "Autumn Stroll Day" - Anything Goes with a theme of Autumn - my favorite season. I broke out my NBUS (never before used schtuff) Fall Bounty Dies. I have had this wonderful Honey Bee die set since last year and had not used yet. This was the perfect opportunity.

I ran across this video on YouTube Hot Foiling With Dies With Channin who used these dies in her video. When I first die cut and colored them with Distress Oxide Inks, the beautiful detail was lost. When I hot foiled with them using the Glimmer System, the detail shone beautifully. The photo above does not do it justice, but IRL these gourds and leaves look marvelous.

Big thanks to the DOTMCC Design Team for choosing my card and to give me the opportunity to Design with them for this challenge.

Please head over to the Day Of The Month Card Club Challenge Blog to see the wonderful inspiration projects from the Design Team.  Come play with us! We can't wait to see your Autumn themed projects in the gallery.

Dazzling Diamonds Happy Birthday

It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. We are hosted by Bobby for Color Week and she has chosen three fabulous colors for us to play with. We extend a warm welcome to the incredibly talented Nance Selkeld of SoulStampin' as our guest designer for September.  Check out Nance's blog for some wonderful inspiration.

Bobby's colors are beautiful and fall-like. I decided to make this Simon Hurley Stencil (Dazzling Diamonds) the star of this card, using blue and rust for the larger diamonds, and Gold Rush Lunar Paste for the smallest ones. I could not capture their shine or even their gold color with my camera, but it truly looks wonderful IRL. I finished the card with a vellum backed die cut Happy Birthday sentiment and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful creations by Nance and the rest of the Design Team. Get crafty with your stash and join us in the gallery! I can't wait to see how our players are inspired.

Sunflower Happy Birthday

Autumn has arrived at
The Four Seasons Challenge with our first Fall themed challenge of 2024. This gorgeous mood board is there for your inspiration, but anything Fall goes.

I took my inspiration from the fall colors. Sunflowers always put me in mind of the end of Summer and beginning of Fall. SU's gorgeous Painted Harvest was the perfect stamp set for what I had in mind. Take a look at the mood board, and see what inspires you. The Design Team members have created wonderful projects to inspire you. Check them out on the challenge blog HERE. Make yourself a cuppa, get crafty, and join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see what you create!
