National Cat Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Today's festivities are in celebration of National Cat Day, which takes place on October 29th. The challenge runs from October 15th - October 25th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. To create my card, I used Stampers Anonymous Snarky Cat Halloween stamp set to create a Halloween scene. The background is cut from a sheet of Halloween themed patterned paper from Creative Memories that has been in my stash for a very long time. I stamped, Copic colored and fussy cut the cat, pumpkin, broom and bat images and arranged them on the panel of patterned paper. I gave the bat a heavy coating of Wink Of Stella for texture and sparkle, and adhered that panel to a slimline die cut panel from Catherine Pooler's Essentials Slimline Dies
I used cat, orange and texture from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Happy Father's Day

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of Father's Day, which falls on June 20th this year. The challenge runs from  June 11 - June 21.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. To create my Father's Day themed card, I came up with a design, and I completed it using Paper Smooches Frame 3 Die, Papertrey Ink's Block Alphabet and Simple Circles Border Dies, Stampin Up 3 Heart Punch and some patterned paper from Carta Bella's 6x6 Yacht Club Collection. The final touch was a gray adhesive backed pearl on the heart, and my card was finished. I used heart, blue, and boat from the Inspo List.

Friends Like Us

The theme over at Inspired By Challenge is "Heart Your Cat-titude". I love these cat-themed images from Waffle Flower's Flora Cat Play stamp set. When I saw this challenge, I pulled out the stamp set and my Zigs and voila! Is that little mouse the cutest?

With Love

When I saw the Inspired By Challenge this week, I HAD to play. I am late to the party with my acquisition of the Essentials By Ellen Bear Ware Collection, but now I will be using them like crazy as I finally have them all. Thanks to my enabler - she knows who she is! I hand drew the collar and cuffs of Bear's sweater. and gave them a little sparkle with WOS. If you look closely at his sweater, you can see a herringbone pattern that I added with some masking and a stamp from PTI's Background Basics Herringbone. The stripes he is standing on are from PTI's Background Basics Super Stripes. I have had both these sets for years. I am using my NBUS - Never Before Used Schtuff! This is a Valentine for my coffee-loving son. He will love it.

'Tis The Season

I bought this Hero Arts Sweater Die die last year and never used it. This wonderful patterned paper in my Christmas stash has all the colors in the adorable trees in the Inspired By... Brush on Color challenge photo. When I  saw it, I knew just what to do!

I just love the way this turned out. The French knot detail was inspired by Nicole Spohr's video Here.

Love You

I love this photo inspiration at Inspired By...  Spring Is Here Challenge. I came up with a design that I really loved for this challenge with some quite old and some some new supplies. The wreath was a wood mounted rubber stamp that I removed from the wood block. Using my MISTI, colored it with SU markers using light and dark pinks and greens (ancient and still fabulous) about a third of the image at a time, and stamped. I used the matching die to cut out the wreath. I stenciled the stripes, and added the sentiment. I just love the way it turned out.

Here are the supplies that I used:
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath wood mounted rubber stamp
Memory Box Mercer Rose Wreath craft die
Stampin' Up markers applied direct to stamp
SSS Tiny Words Encouragement stamps
Pink and Main Sentiment Strip Die
SSS Diagonal Stripe stencil
PTI Soft Stone Ink
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink

Can't Wait To Hug You

I just love this inspiration photo above from Inspired By. I played earlier in the challenge, but today it dawned on me that Altenew's Botanical You stamps and die are just perfect for playing along, so I am back with a second card.  And there is that hemstitch rectangle again... I can't get enough of these dies, and I am loving putting colored card stock behind the die cut panel for a pop of color.

I think I am going make a ton of these and send them to everyone I wish I could hug right now.

Happy New Year!

It's December 29th, and the year is screaming to a close. I had a little time to craft today, so I decided to make a card to welcome 2020. Super simple - no stamping. Dies by Cheery Lynn Designs and Spellbinders.
Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!

Bwahaha!

Well, this is the most layered card I have made in ages, but I love it. My style has become so much more on the CAS side of things, but the current
Inspired By Table Runner Challenge
and THIS card by Her Royal Craftiness, Michele Ferguson, inspired me to take out my stash of Halloween papers and go to town. I used a variety of dies from Reverse Confetti, Lawn Fawn, Sizzix and Poppy Stamps to create this fun card. I love the inspiration!
