This Card Is Full Of Love

Time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. It's Color Week and we are hosted by Bobby who has chosen a  gorgeous combination of peach, lavender and gray for our inspiration.  We welcome Jenny Martin of My Paper Epiphany as our Guest Designer for the Month of May. Jenny is a very talented cardmaker with a wonderfully ecclectic style. Do treat yourself to a stroll through her blog where you are sure to be inspired.

I decided that the challenge colors would be lovely for butterflies. The Pinkfresh Small Butterflies collection has a lovely variety of butterflies that you can foil, stencil and die cut all images at once. I used the colors on my foiled and diecut butterflies. I used a PTI impression plate to create a base layer for my design. I added an embossed strip on this layer to adhere my beautiful butterflies to, popped them up with foam squares and added some silver dots. The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Please head over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and check out the wonderful creations by Jenny  and the rest of the Design Team. Get crafty with your stash and join us in the gallery! I can't wait to see how our players are inspired to play.

Striped Happy Easter

Hello crafty friends. Before I get to the new Time Out Challenge, I wanted to thank everyone who played with us and Just Us Girls for our Collaborative Challenge. It was so much fun. There were so many
"fa-bird-lous" entries. I hope that everyone will consider supporting both of our challenges moving forward.

Now on to our new challenge - Time Out Challenge #260 starts today. We are challenged to be "striped". If you look around and really open your eyes, there are stripes everywhere... in our textiles, foods, office supplies, buildings... really everywhere. So this one is really wide open. Let's get creative and get stripey!

We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

The challenge winner as chosen by the Design Team will receive a $25.00 Lawn Fawn store credit. The winner will also receive an invitation to Guest Design with is for a future challenge.

We are joined by Karen Rodgers of kareN stampZ as Guest Designer. Karen is a very talented crafter. You can view her challenge card and link to her blog from the Time Out Challenge Blog

I have been making Easter cards. I had made this embossed panel and set it aside. I was going through patterned papers today and found this variety of striped papers, and decided to use the embossed panel and the little bunny die that came with it to "color" some of the bunnies. I added a panel of striped card to the base, and added twine, which also had a striped look and voila! My card was complete.

Please head over to the Time Out Challenge blog to see what Karen and the Design Team have created to inspire you. Find your stripes and play with us! Can't wait to see your creation in the gallery. Remember, we allow links to a total of 5 challenges including ours. Check out the rules in "how to play" on the sidebar of the challenge blog. See you in the gallery!

Tree Frog

Time Out Challenge #258 starts today with a Photo Inspiration. Since today is Leap Day, we thought it would be fun to have leaping inspiration, and thought this gorgeous frog would be the perfect place to start. The next Leap Day that falls on a Thursday will be on February 29, 2052. Hmmm do the math. I will probably be leaping through clouds above!

Here is an enlargement to help you see the detail in this amazing photo.

We are joined by Vicki Dutcher of All I Do Is Stamp as our Guest Designer. Vicki is a well seasoned and very talented card maker and winner of Time Out Challenge #254. You can check out her designs on her blog HERE. Do treat yourself to a visit. You are sure to be inspired.

My interpretation of the photo is quite literal. I saw this Tim Holtz Thinlits Miserable Myron die set and knew I had to have it for this challenge. Let me tell you that between cutting all the pieces, piecing/gluing them together properly and working with Liquid Pearls for his toes, there was a lot of language going on in my craft room. I think Myron is so hideous that he is wonderful. I wonder what would happen if someone did kiss him. Handsome prince? or slimy frog? Who can tell? It isn't going to be me. But I got a kick out of our inspiration for Leap day, and that is that.

Please leap on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see what Vicki and the Design team have created to inspire you. Their takes on the photo inspiration are wonderfully creative and so imaginative. See you in the gallery! Don't forget that our challenge rules allow for a total of 5 challenge links including ours.

LOVE

It's time for a new challenge at Just Us Girls. It's Word Week this week, the word is LOVE and Elizabeth is our host.

For my card, I used Hero Arts Love & Florals die set that I bought around Valentines Day last year, and never broke it out. Since Elizabeth's chosen word was love, I die cut a white rectangle and backed it with Echo Park patterned paper. I die cut the flowers and colored them with Distress Oxide inks. I popped up the white panel with Fun Foam onto an embossed panel, adhered that to a white card base, and my card was complete.

This month we are joined by Denise Morgans of The Crafty Den as Guest Designer. Please head on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see what Denise and the rest of the Design Team have made to spark your creativity. Come play with us!

Sparkly Joy

Word Week starts today at Just Us Girls. Sue is our host and she has chosen the word "sparkle". I built my very sparkly card around this wonderful fun foam backed "joy" die cut that I ran across as I was straightening up the craft space. Bravo Burgundy cardstock was a perfect match, so that became my card base. I opened my (new) package of Sizzix Opulent Cardstock Pack of papers and chose Glitter Ombre to use with my (new) Christmas Tree Pattern EF  I just love the way it turned out. I added a hot foiled sentiment, and my card was complete.

Let Your Heart Sparkle

This card was born when I saw the latest Color Hues Challenge, AND when I saw THIS card and the gorgeous holographic cardstock it was made with. I had to have the cardstock, and I had to CASE SusanB's card. Instead of a snowflake background, I used Sizzix Christmas Tree Pattern 3D Embossing Folder. I applied Silver ink to the flat side of the Embossing folder before running it through my die cutting/embossing machine to add some silver to the paper. It is hard to see because the paper is very shimmery and did not take a lot of the ink, but I still love the way it looks. I (Glimmer) foiled many sentiments yesterday with silver foil, and now I have a bunch to use! I thought this one was perfect for this card. I know I will be making many versions of it. I bought 20 sheets of this White Lava Holographic Cardstock from Your Paper Insider. Check out their story and their wonderful products. Best Customer Service EVER!

Christmas Cardinal

It's time for a new Challenge at The Four Seasons. We have moved on to Winter. As always, we have a mood board for inspiration but you can create anything as long as it has a WINTER theme.

I was inspired by that plump cardinal sitting on the mailbox backed with all those lovely pines. To create my card, I used a newly acquired Cardinal die paired with an embossed background and hot foiled sentiment that had been sitting in my snippet box.

Please head on over to the Challenge Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Then grab a cuppa, put on some music, and start creating! See you in the gallery!

The Tide Will Turn

Time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around it's an Inspired By Words Challenge where the words are: When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in". ~ Kristin Armstrong. Check out Tie Out Challenge #250

This card speaks of me and my love for the sea and the calm, peace and companionship it brings. The quote brought to mind some panels I had made with Gina K's Ocean Minded stamp set. The heart is embossed with Hero Arts Sand EP and represents a drawing in the sand. The sentiment is so perfect for support and encouragement for someone who going through a difficult time. The embossed waves in the background added some wonderful texture. I just love it.

We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps.
Winner received a $20.00 gift voucher and an invitation to be Guest Designer for a future challenge.

Our Guest Designer is Deb Horst, frequent participant at Time Out, and very talentedl crafter. Be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see her beautiful card.

Meadow Bush Hello

I love the colors in the Altenew August 2023 Inspiration Challenge. As I was going through my Altenew stash, The Meadow Bush Stencil and Die set inspired me to play, and this is what happened. I used Ranger Minty Fresh Lunar paste on the centers of the flowers and it gave them a lovely sheen. I could not seem to catch it in my photo, but it looks great IRL.

Stargazer Birthday

When I saw the Color Hues Challenge colors, I immediately thought of Altenew's gorgeous Stargazer Lily layered stamp set. I got to work stamping 4 sets of flowers and leaves with my Altenew Stampwheel. I embossed a panel with Altenew's Simple Frame EF, arranged the flower and leaves on it and popped up that panel onto the card base. To finish, I stamped and clear embossed a sentiment from Altenew's Fresh Freesia. I love the way this turned out!
