AAA Cards #276 Guest Designer

I am thrilled to be here today as Guest Designer at AAA Cards. This challenge was my very first Design Team gig back in 2015, and the start of a wonderful run of design teams for me over the course of time. It was here that I really developed an understanding of CAS which was not easy to grasp at the time because I started my "stamping career" with lots of layers. I grew to love the genre and to design for other CAS challenges including Less Is More.

For my card, I stamped this gorgeous leaf directly on the card base and added 3 sequins as a small embellishment in keeping with the sketch. I embossed the stamped image with clear embossing powder then colored it with DO Inks. I then used the mask that comes with the stamp and sprayed the aperture with clear shimmer spray to bring out the colors and shine. I love the way it turned out.

Thanks to the AAA team for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge. It was fun to be able to design for this challenge once again.

Please head over to the AAA Cards Challenge and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration, then join us in the gallery. I can't wait to see how the sketch inspires you. Happy crafting!

Friends Are The Family That We Choose

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I am so happy to be here once again as September Guest Designer at Just Us Girls. I am loving this gig! This week's challenge #697 is a Mood Board, which I love.

Here's a close up of the Mood Board so you can see all the wonderful details.

For my card, I zeroed in on the hand holding the leaf (check the merlot nails), and then lots of beautiful Autumn color that is present in each of the photos on the board... and then, there's the pie! I combined some things old and new from my stash. It was one of those projects that looks simple, but took forever to get right. In the end, I am pleased with the way it turned out.

Please hop on over to the Just Us Girls Challenge Blog to see what the lovely and talented Design Team has created to inspire you. Light a cinnamon, apple or pumpkin scented candle, and let your imagination take you to warm, cozy and creative places. Hope to see you in the gallery!

I'm working on some Thanksgiving cards today. Thanksgiving is by far, my favorite holiday. I wanted to use my NBUS SSS Eucalyptus Dies, and I also wanted to play at Color Throwdown #718. I am screaming in on the last day, but I love the colors and they work for my Thanksgiving theme today. While looking for some inspiration, I ran across a card in THIS post (the first card)  and I decided to CASE it.

Supplies Used:
Stamps - Reverse Confetti Autumn Sentiments
Paper - SU Riding Hood Red; More Mustard and Tangerine Tango Card Stock; PTI Soft Stone Card Stock; Gina K. Pure Ivory Pure Luxury heavy weight card Stock.
Ink - VersaFine Onyx Black; PTI Soft Stone

Enjoy Thanksgiving

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Pumpkins".

My background is embossed with a Cuttlebug EF, colored with various Distress Oxide Inks and mounted on Kraft card stock. I stamped my sentiment from Hero Arts on cream colored card stock with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and die cut it with one of the Altenew Nesting Slim Labels. I added a scrap piece of ribbon and mounted the kraft panel onto a Tangerine Tango card base and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge? blog to check out the Design Team inspiration projects. You are sure to be impressed (pun intended)! Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Autumn Is A Second Spring

I found this gorgeous embossed and blended background with gold splatters in my background box, so I made this with the inspiration of a few challenges out there with Autumn themes and/or colors:

I was inspired to make a mixed media card using all those gorgeous colors of all of those gorgeous leaves. My die cut leaf with the sentiment mimics the lighter colors among the darker ones in the photo.

I Can Smell Autumn Dancing In The Breeze

A new challenge starts today at Can You Handle The Pressure? where the theme is always Anything Goes with an Embossing Folder and an optional twist. Heat embossing is welcome, but not required. An Embossing Folder must be used. For this challenge, the twist is "Fall".

I used a Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder for my background. I swiped it with Soft Suede ink before embossing on kraft card stock. I die cut MFT Grande Greenery Solid in several Fall colors and created a wreath. Finally, I added this wonderful sentiment from So Susy Stamps that I bring out every Fall.

Thankful

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

For my Thanksgiving-themed project, I used: thankful theme, leaves, and pumpkins. The leaf dies are are from PTI Leaf Prints. The sentiment is from PTI Phrase Play #7. The embossing folder is by Provo Craft.

Warm Fall Wishes

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

For my Fall-themed project, I used: leaves, gold, green, brown, and (faux) stitching. I used a variety of Distress Oxide Inks and sprays to create a panel of fall colors from which I die cut the leaves and sprigs. I arranged them on the gold circle and added the bow and embossed sentiment strip.

Supplies Used:
Paper: Neenah Solar White 80#, SU More Mustard, Brushed Gold, Early Espresso, Black
Ink: Various Distress Oxide inks, Heidi Swapp Sprays
Dies: Pinkfresh Studio Dainty Blossoms, Spellbinders Nestabilities Large Standard Circles, Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves, Paper Smooches Baby Bow, Pink and Main Sentiment Strips, Altenew Dotted Swirls
