Happy 10th Birthday, Christopher!

This is a birthday card for a hockey loving boy in our family who turned 10 today. He lives in New Jersey, but he is a huge fan of the Detroit Redwings Hockey team and is a hockey player himself. I was so pleased with the last shaker card I made, and thought this would be a perfect card for him with sparkly "ice" inside the balloon, and the red and white colors of the team. I bought some digital Redwings images from an ETSY store, and created my birthday shaker card from around that.

You Are Such A Blessing

Happy New Year! And welcome to a new year of challenges at Time Out!
Our first challenge of 2026 opens today and runs through January 21st. It is a Theme challenge in which the theme is "ALL THAT GLITTERS". We are challenged to use glitter paper, foil, rhinestones, metallic inks, or other shiny embellishments on our projects. Focus on making sparkly, glamorous creations.

Our wonderful sponsor, Gina K Designs, is generously offering a $25 store credit as a prize for our Challenge Winner, who will also get an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.

We are joined by Heather Heroldt of Handmade by Heather, and winner of Time Out #299 as Guest Designer. Heather is a very talented designer and a frequent and loyal Time Out participant. We always love to see her work in the gallery, and we greatly appreciate her support. Treat yourself to a stroll through her BLOG for some wonderful inspiration!

We are thrilled to pieces to welcome Jaydee of Stampin' with Jaydee to our Design Team. Pinch me! This is so fabulous! Welcome, dear Jaydee. We are so happy to have you with us!

For my card, I knew I wanted to make a snowy shaker. I ran across THIS video by Nina-Marie Trapani, used what I had on hand, and my card came together easily.

Merry Bookmas

These are little gifts for my book club buddies for our Christmas gathering. The clear wine bags hold a small Yankee Candle with some festive filling. The Waffle Flower Merry Bookmas Die 'n Stencil set was the perfect choice for the tags, because... books. I added poinsettia die cuts made with Waffle Flower's Layered Poinsettia Die and some gold cord so the tag could be used as an ornament. I love the way they came out.

Thanksgiving Place Cards 2025

I meant to post these last week, but just couldn't get to it. Since making place cards for the Thanksgiving table is a life long tradition for me, I just had to put these on my blog for future reference. When I saw the Honey Bee Lovely Layers: Turkey Dies, I had to have them for this year's table. They are wonderfully detailed, and fun to put together. The "calligraphy" was done with Concord & 9th's Perfectly Penned stamp set that I have had forever and barely, if ever, used. The origin of the tag die on the place card is unknown, but I do know that it (along with several others) has been in my stash for a very long time. I must say that I was glad that there were 7 and not 17 of these to make... LOL. That almost happened. Thanks Honey Bee, for dressing (no pun intended) up my Thanksgiving table. It made things extra festive and fun.

We are sponsored by Birch Press Design with a Store Credit of $20.00 for our Challenge Winner as chosen by the Design Team.

We are joined by Trina Pham of Phamtastic Design, and winner of Time Out #298 as Guest Designer. You can see Trina's fantastic card on the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can link to her nlog and leave her some love.

This photo is so festive and it was fun to come up with a project inspired by it. For my card, I focused on the ethnic wear worn by the woman on the far left. I used the colors of mauve, sage, cream and gold for my project with the supplies shown below.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Trina and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Come play with us! We would be so happy to see your project in our gallery. Please be sure to mention how the photo inspired your your design in your post. I can't wait to see what you create!

Sparkly Peaceful Christmas

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. In this Pick Two Challenge, we are looking for projects that incorporate at least 2 of the 6 of the challenge word prompts: Movie, Emboss, Nature, Corner, White and Sparkle. You may use more than 2 of the prompts in your project, but you must use at least 2, and you must mention which prompts you used in your post.

We are sponsored by Poppystamps with a generous prize of a $20.00 Store Credit. We thank Poppystamps for their continued generosity and support for Time Out Challenges. In addition to the prize, our Challenge Winner will receive an invitation to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.
We are joined by Margreet Burger of Margreet's scrapcards, and winner of Time Out #297 as Guest Designer. You can check out Margreet's gorgeous card on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

As for my card, I had this gorgeous embossed panel on my desk just waiting for some love. I swiped it with VersaMark then sprinkled it with sparkle embossing powder. I cut the word from royal blue mirror card stock and stacked it on 3 white die cuts to give it dimension, then glued it to the embossed panel.  I glued the embossed panel on to a white card base and my card was complete. Try as I might, I could neither capture the wonderful sparkle on the trees nor the blue color of the mirror card in my photo. It really is gorgeous IRL.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Margreet and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Come play with us! We would be so happy to see your project in our gallery. Please be sure to mention the prompts you used in your design in your post. I can't wait to see what you create!

Bear Ware Thanksgiving

It's tie for a new challenge at Time Out. For Challenge #301, we are looking for projects that are in celebration of your favorite holiday to celebrate. That can be ANY holiday that you celebrate ANY time throughout the year.

Angie Blom Digital Designs is our Sponsor generously offering our Challenge Winner a  $20 store credit as a prize. Our Challenge Winner will be invited to join us as Guest Designer for a future challenge.
We are joined by Stef Perry of Perry Papercrafts as our Guest Designer. Stef is a very talented paper crafter and a frequent player here at Time Out. You can view Stef's project on The Time Out Challenge Blog where you can also link to her Guest Designer post on her Blog.

When it comes to my favorite holiday to celebrate, there is no question which it is. Mine is Thanksgiving, hands down. I love that it is a day to gather, to think about life's blessings, to enjoy family and friends and share good food. I simply love it.

For my card, I dug out my Essentials By Ellen All Inside and Bear Ware 4 stamps and dies and made a little Thanksgiving scene with them. I use a stencil to create a little inked rectangle in which to place my die cuts on the embossed panel. Looking at it now, I wish I had used a darker color for that, but you live and learn. Right?

What is your favorite holiday to celebrate? Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Stef and the Design Team have created for your inspiration. Come play with us! We would be so happy to see your project in our gallery. Please be sure to mention your holiday in your post. We'd also love to hear why you chose that one in particular. I can't wait to see what you create!
