You Are Amazing

The featured technique over at CAS Mix Up for July is Stencil Tracing. This is a new one to me and I wanted to give it a whirl. Basically you outline with the stencil left on your image or free hand
outline with the stencil removed.

Funky Fossil Designs Seahorse Stencil and Mask seemed to be a great choice for this technique, plus I wanted to try layered stenciling, and the Seahorse was a good choice for that too. I began by blending Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass DO ink on Neenah Solar white 80# Card Stock. I then placed Hero Arts Abstract Waves Stencil over the Seahorse aperture and blended Chipped Sapphire DO over top of that. I removed that stencil and laid Dylusions Small Bubbles Stencil on the Seahorse aperture and sprayed it generously with Imagine Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray. When I removed the bubbles stencil, I traced around the edges of the Seahorse with a Copic 0.2 Multiliner. I was thrilled with the way it came out. I debated whether to give my funky seahorse a googly eye, but I left it alone in the true spirit of CAS. I thought hard about what sentiment to use, and finally settled on this one from The Ton's Pyrotechnics set. I die cut the panel with a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangle Stackables die, backed it with fun foam and mounted it on Gina K. Designs Base Weight Turquoise Sea Card Stock.

Hello Birthday Girl

A new challenge is up at Less Is More where the challenge is FUCHSIA, YELLOW & GREY.

We are generously sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays this month.
https://cas-ualfridaysstamps.com/products

To create my card, I blended the challenge colors on Funky Fossil Designs Butterfly Wreath in the bottom right corner of my card base. The sentiment is done with Simon Says Stamp + CZ Design Hello You Stamps and Die. I stamped and die cut the word "hello" on white card stock, and stacked three more die cuts beneath the stamped one. I stamped the rest of the sentiment below the die cut, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and for a chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

Thanks

There's a beach theme over at Moving Along With The Times. I love to play with that theme whenever I can!

To make my card, I used Funky Fossils SeaShells Stencil and Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. I added some water droplets. The sentiment is die cut with a die from SSS Summer Greetings.

My inspiration was the overall theme and the shells around the candle.

You're Doin' Great!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out!!! Time Out Challenge #165 is a Theme Challenge - Days Gone By. This could be anything that has to do with the past. Any memory that you have, person you admire, scrapbook page documenting your family history, a vintage outfit, a phrase, and old fashioned word, a style of card you used to make, life before isolation... you get the drift. There is an optional twist to add embellishments.

We are generously sponsored by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

Our Guest Designer is Claire  of Life On The Scrap HeapClaire is a top notch designer whose creations are always greatly inspiring.  Claire's art is fabulous from design to coloring. Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog for some awesome inspiration.

I thought this Doing Great stamp from CAS-ual Fridays was just perfect for our theme of 'Days Gone By'. I stamped and heat embossed it on a background that I created with alcohol inks and water. To frame it out, I die cut the stamped panel with a Spellbinders Rectangle Hemstitched Die and popped it up onHero Arts Sea Mix Layering Paper.

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Claire and our Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Supplies:

You Are Kind

I created this card for CAS(E) This Sketch #377.

Using another Quarantine purchase from Pinkfresh Studio and some old friends from my stash, I stamped and colored the wonderful images from Lush Greenery and colored them with many shades of green, blue-green and yellow-green Copic markers. I die cut the panel with a Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Two die. The sentiment is also from the same set - half of it stamped and die cut with Pink and Main Sentiment Strip Dies, and the other half die cut and adhered with adhesive. I love the way it turned out.

Sending All My Love

I am excited to have some extra time today to play a few challenges. I made this card for the CAS Mix Up June Challenge - Embossed Vellum. I must say that I made many purchases since the quarantine began on March 13, so I decided I had better ink some of them up and justify my expenditures!

I love this Pinkfresh Studio set - Forever In Our Hearts - that was created to honor the son of Lea Lawson, Marketing Director of Pinkfresh. Baby Lawson died in the NICU. Losing a baby, a child or a pregnancy is excruciating painful, and a kind of loss that is often misunderstood and difficult for other people to acknowledge. I know from experiencing several losses myself, that this is a pain like no other. People don't know what to say, and they often say the stupidest things that only create more sadness and often anger. This set is perfectly beautiful and I am so grateful to Pinkfresh for creating it. In honor of baby Layton, my Mara, Ben and Grace, all of the beautiful little souls who left the world far too early, and those who love them... this one is for you.
