I saw THIS card by Laurie of Stampin Up North, and I just loved it so much. I've had butterflies in my creative thoughts a lot lately since I connected with a new crafty friend in blogland who works wonders with butterflies. I decided to pull out my yet un-inked PTI Beautiful Butterflies, Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamps and matching dies and CASE Laurie's card. I just love the way the 3 shades of green work with the stamps, and that little bit of green bling really finishes it off nicely.
This creation was inspired by the following challenges:
CAS Colours and Sketches #118. My color palate.
I prefer Clean & Simple to a lot of layers, but the embossed top panel and the butterfly with it's wings folded up a bit give this card simple layers and dimension.
Butterflies, greens = spring! Finally!
Thanks Laurie for the inspiration, and thank you for coming by my blog today.
Your card is beautiful Stephanie! The green butterfly really pops against that crisp white background! :)

This is really pretty. I've seen these add on's to the PTI butterfly set and have resisted the urge to get them. Your card has me rethinking that decision. The green is really pretty - especially with spring late to arrive in the northeast. Even if we don't see green in our yards and gardens yet, we can certainly add it to our cards! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful! Love that butterfly!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, my friend, you already know that I'm swooning over your beautiful card! The embossing adds such rich texture; a perfect canvas for your stunning, shades of green butterfly! Gorgeous! Yesterday, I made a card similar to what you have here...guess I must have been channeling you! I'm aiming to post it later today/tomorrow! Thrilled you'll be shopping at Paper Smooches soon (the butterfly duet dies are pretty *grin*)
