It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time, we have an inspiration photo to spark our imagination and creativity. Scroll down below the challenge badge to see an enlargement of the Inspiration Photo to see all the detail. It's a camping scene, but there are so many details that you pull from the photo for your creation as well. There's a banjo and drum, canoe, do you see that wonderful striped rug? There are green hills, a lake, leaves of gold, Autumn colors... so much from which to choose.
We are generously sponsored by Lawn Fawn.
Challenge winner as chosen by the Time Out Design Team will receive a $25.00 gift voucher from Lawn Fawn and an invitation to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.
We welcome Trina Pham of Phamtastic Design as our Guest Designer. Trina is an incredibly talented paper crafting artist. Her coloring is swoon-worthy and her designs are so inspiring. Please take a stroll through her blog and take in the sights!
I was stumped on this one as I was trying to find something camping themed in my stash and I had nothing. Sometimes though, I take things too literally with inspiration photos. There is so much to be had in this scene like musical instruments - the banjo and drum, that wonderful striped rug and its colors, the fall colors, the canoe, lake, hills...
I found this digital stamp by Dina Kowal on Etsy that looked perfect for my project, but I am not adept at layering digis, and I was dubious. I decided to challenge myself to learn how to do this. After many attempts, I was successful - even without my 20-something sons around. I layered, added color with DO inks, added a tree line and clouds with stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, and I was good to go. Kinda makes me want to go fishin'.

Oh my Stephanie! I'm totally impressed!! I love this scene and you have worked wonders with these digis. I know you have wanted to learn how to layer digital images and am very happy you had a go for it! Well done you! The sentiment is a great one too. xxx
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, you've always got a spot in our canoe! Your card is fantastic! Was the sentiment part of the digi, too?
ReplyDeleteFIN-tastic!

Great card! I am not much of a digi user, so am impressed with your efforts and the amazing results. Great job stencilling and building the outdoor fishing scene.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card, this is a marvelous scene! This would be my dad or our son, those two love to fish!
ReplyDeleteI don't do digis so I'm always impressed by those who know how to use them, Stephanie. You added just the right elements to creat a wonderful lake scene. It brings back memories of my Dad who was an avid fisherman.
ReplyDeleteWow Stephanie, you've done wonders with these multiple digi layers! Love all the little details and what a perfect sentiment! Hugs, Kate!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Love the beautiful Outdoor scene you have created, Stephanie. You have done great job with your digi.. Love it totally. Hugssxx
ReplyDeleteStephanie... I cannot tell you how many men I know who would think this is the absolute perfect card. Of course, I should say that I live in a marina community. Personally I love watching the boats head out... and a few men do fish off the docks here. But the real treasure is when they come back in...I had fresh mahi mahi over the weekend. Amazing. Hope you are well. Would love to do another zoom on our organizing. I AM ALMOST THERE! I can't believe I have inventoried everything... and it really helps, especially when shopping.
