Let's Do Lunch

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by National Eat What You Want Day, which takes place on May 11th. April 29th.

The challenge runs from April 15th to April 25th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I stamped images from Paper Smooches Calorie Free and Alfresco stamp sets on Neenah Solar White 80# paper using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then colored  with Copics. I added texture to a white panel with STAMPlorations Circles All Over Texture Cover Plate and arranged the die cut foods on it popping them up with Dimensionals.  I added a piece of twine, and my card was complete.
I used food, red and twine from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

This Card Is Full Of Love

Less Is More #463 starts today. We are challenged to create a One Layer (no layers, just a card base) CAS card with an off center design.

To create my card, I placed the Off The Edge Daffodils stencil from SSS in the upper left corner of my Neenah Solar White 110# card base. I stenciled it lightly with various Altenew inks. I then added a sentiment from SSS So Talkative stamp set using VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink heat embossed with WOW clear embossing powder.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple which we define as designs that include large areas of CLEAR AND CLEAN space with NO PATTERN, NO INK and NO TEXTURE See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #608 - CAS

Pastel Happy Birthday

I am thrilled to be here today as Guest Designer for Can You Handle The Pressure where the challenge is always Anything Goes with the use of an embossing folder on your project. Each challenge has an optional twist, and today it is pastels.

I used kraft for my card base and stamped it with Versamark ink using SSS Gerbera Daisy Background Cling stamp. I then cut strips in different widths of pastel card stock scraps in a pastel version of rainbow colors. I taped them together, placed the panel in the SSS Floral Field Embossing Folder and ran it through through my Platinum Die Cutting and Embossing Machine. Once I cut the strip panel to fit the card base, I mounted it on fun foam and adhered it to the base. The sentiment is from CZ Design Happy Birthday Wafer Dies with the base cut from vellum and the sentiment cut from black glossy card stock.

Please head over to the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge Blog and soak up some wonderful inspiration from the Design Team. Then dive into your embossing folder collection and join us with or without the twist! Just be sure to use an embossing folder on your creation!

Let's Dance It Out

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list. Your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation.

Today's festivities are inspired by International Dance Day, which takes place on April 29th. International Dance Day is a global celebration of dance, created by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute, the main partner for the performing arts of UNESCO. The event takes place every year on 29 April, which is the anniversary of the birth of Jean-Georges Noverre, the creator of modern ballet.
The challenge runs from April 15th to April 25th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I used CAS-ual Fridays Tutu stamps and dies. I just LOVE the images and sentiments in this set. I embossed a Neenah Solar White 80# piece of card stock with a Cuttlebug EF that I have had forever. I stamped, heat embossed and die cut my little dancer and popped her up on the dry embossed panel. I stamped the sentiment directly on to the dry embossed panel, mounted that panel with fun foam to my card base and my card was complete.
I used pink, dancer, embossing folder, music and die cut from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the inspo list for your creation!

Happy Easter

I created this card for the current challenge over at Can You Handle The Pressure  - a challenge that is all about embossing folders! Each challenge has an optional twist, an embossing folder is required. Isn't that fantastic? What a great way to tackle your stash! This challenge is Anything Goes With An Optional Twist Of Easter.

I embossed a panel of Neenah Solar White 110# card stock with Altenew's Tulip 3D EF. What a gorgeous impression it makes. I added some DO ink very lightly in pastel colors and added a Happy Easter die cut using purple mirror card stock mounted on foam. Voila!

Dance

Less Is More #462 starts today. We are challenged to create a CAS card inspired by an occupation.

I used Funky Fossil Sunray stencil for my background with 4 bright Distress Oxide inks. I then stamped one of the dancer images from Visible Image's Hip Hop Girls in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I did the same with the sentiment. I die cut my scene with the large Wonky Stitches Avery Elle-ments die, popped it up on my card base, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Faith Can Move Mountains

Time Out #211 begins today, It's a  photo inspiration - see above.  The challenge runs from Thursday, April 7th to Wednesday, April 20th. We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps.

I used stencils from A Colorful Life Deigns to create my scene - very much inspired by our photo -  Mountain Edger 1 Stencil, Tree Line Edger 3, and Cloud Edger. It is unusual for me to create an entire scene with stencils, but I love it. The sentiment is also from A Colorful Life Designs Altitude clear stamp set. The frame is die cut from The Greetery's Nordic Frames.

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Asa and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Hello Spring

I am so pleased to be here as Guest Designer for the April Four Seasons Spring Challenge that starts today, April 1st.

Here is the mood board for the challenge:

I love Magnolias - Pink, Star, Chinese, Figo... you name it. Growing up, there was a huge Pink  Magnolia tree in our front yard that had been planted by my grandfather as a gift to our family. Every year when in bloomed in all of its magnificence, we would pray everyday that a spring frost would not come and turn it all brown. I have been thinking of that tree, especially with the fluctuation in our weather here is the northeastern part of the US, and it seemed fitting that for my Spring card, I would go with Magnolias.

I embossed a 4x5.5 panel of 110 lb. card stock with  the SSS Magnolias Embossing Folder. I used blending brushes to apply 3 shades of pink Distress Oxide Inks directly onto the EF. I ran it though my die cutting machine and got this beautiful result. I added sentiments from Neat & Tangled Hello Spring stamps and dies and glued some Dew Drops and my card was complete.

Thank you so much Darlene and Diane, for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge. Please head on over to the Four Seasons Challenge blog and check out what the fabulous Design Team has come up with to get your creative juices flowing.

Today's festivities are inspired by World Art Day, which takes place on April 15th. The challenge runs from April 1st to April 11th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the theme. For this one, I used Paper Smooches I Heart Art stamps and Easel and Paint Palette dies. I stamped the paint tube image down the left side of a Tim Holtz water color panel using my MISTI, and water colored them with Inktense Watercolor Pencils. I die cut the palette and filled it with rainbow colors and popped it up with foam tape. I die cut the easel, stamped one of the sentiments on the "paper" and popped it up with foam tape. I added a few splashes and my card was complete.
I used watercolor paper, paint splats, easel, primary colors and watercolor pencils from the inspo list.
