100% Happy

Less Is More Challenge #443 begins today. We are challenged to make a Clean and Simple card that features our favorite technique.
It is hard to choose one technique that is my favorite, but I certainly do love to stencil, so that is the technique I chose. To create my card, I used the Shimmering Rays Stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and four Distress Oxide inks in orange hues: Dried Marigold, Carved Pumpkin, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey. I then stamped the center with an image from SSS Flip Flop Season, and embossed it with clear EP. I then put the stencil back in place and applied Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel to give the rays sparkle and shine.

I needed a retirement card for a man friend, and this will work wonderfully. I am certainly 100% happy that he is going out at the top of his game, and I hope he has a long and healthy new chapter ahead of him with the Jersey Shore and Florida sun shining down on him!

Happy 4th!

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of National Flag Week, which is celebrated June 13th - 19th this year. The challenge runs from May 28th - June 7th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. For my National Flag Week-themed card (well, it is more of a flag-themed card), I used the Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic stamp set. It has a variety of baskets and seasonal images to fill them. I stamped the images and colored them with Copics. The basket and napkin are die cut. I added a flurry of metallic dots to add some interest above the basket. I added a little dimension with a star embossing folder on the left side, added some twine, and my card was complete
I used stripes, stars, banner/flag and embossing from the Inspo List.

Happy Birthday

Time Out Challenge #188 starts today. We are challenged to create a card inspired by an item or items from inside your home with an optional twist of embossing.

We are sponsored by Uniko.

I took my inspiration from this chair that is in my beach house. I love the designs in the fabric. I have several mandala stamps in my stash and planned to go with one of those for my creation, but then...

I found Altenew's Ornamental Bliss stamp set that I have had for a while but have not inked, and I knew what I was going to do!

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Wish Upon A Starfish

Less Is More Challenge #443 begins today. We are challenged to make a Clean and Simple card with the sketch below.

For my card, I used the MFT Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window Die to frame my starfish image from Tim Holtz Mini Blue Prints Nautica Strip Cling Rubber Stamps. I colored it with Copics, and added a sentiment from Hero Arts to complete my card.

I Love You So Mulch

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something using just the three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of National Gardening Week, which is celebrated June 6th - 12th this year. The challenge runs from May 14th - May 24th.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration. For my National Gardening Week-themed card, I used the Paper Smooches Green Thumb stamp set to make my seed packets and colored them with Copics adding a little shading with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink. I tore a piece of brown textured card stock for my dirt, mounted my seed packets on popsicle sticks, and inked the sky with the Cloud Edger stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I adhered the seed packet sticks, added a sentiment and my card was done. I used plants (well, planted seeds), green, die cut and dirt from the inspo list.

Heart Of Gold & Stardust Soul

Time Out #187 is in progress. You still have until May 19th to play! We are challenged to create something with the word "MOVE" as our inspiration.

We are sponsored by Top Flight Stamps.

Challenge winner will receive a $25.00 gift voucher for the Top Flight Store.

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is Milla. Milla is a very talented paper crafter with mad coloring skills. Treat yourself to a stroll through her blog. You are sure to be inspired!

With this challenge, we say a warm and loving farewell to the mother of this challenge, Sandie Munro. You can read her message on the Time Out Blog HERE.

With that said, my card is dedicated to Sandie, a most wonderful, kind, compassionate and remarkable  human being. She remains supportive of all those around her despite her own challenges, as she faces them with such grace and strength. I have never had the delightful opportunity to meet Sandie in person, but that has not prevented our friendship from flourishing.

As for my card, the colors are very off in this picture. It does not show well, that the die cut circle and the ballerina are purple - a color that always puts me in mind of Sandie. The sentiment is embossed in gold, which you also can't tell from this picture. It is beautiful, and it is so perfect for this wonderful woman. I will miss you very much here at Time Out, Sandie. Thank you for inviting me to design back in 2016. It has been and continues to be a joy. I look forward to seeing your signature CAS designs in the blog world, and I will not lose touch. As you move on with the grace of a ballerina, know that you are loved.

By The Sea

Less Is More Challenge #442 begins today. We are challenged to make a Clean and Simple card incorporating sea creatures into our design.
I used a digital image from Sea Shells Card Panel and Shells Images Bundle by Alex Syberia. If you have never had the pleasure of perusing Alex's shop, please do yourself a favor and go there. Alex is an incredible artist. I love working with her creations. The original image that I chose to use is a frame. I edited it so that I just had the bottom border that you see on my card. I colored it with Copics and add some sparkle with Wink Of Stella. To complete my card, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Picket Fence Studio's Mermaids of the Sea with clear EP, popped up the colored panel with a piece of fun foam, and adhered it to the card base.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple. See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.
