I am thrilled to be here as Guest Designer for Uniko Challenge #64 - Signs of Spring. Uniko is celebrating nine years of business. Owner Bev Brown is a very talented crafter, designer and business woman. She wears many hats and wears them well. Congratulations Bev, and thanks for having me as Guest Designer for this challenge.
Last week temps hit 75 here in New Jersey in the US, and it was such a joy to have a taste of Spring. Today we are expecting a little snow, but there is hope! A hopeful heart is so welcome. I have been reflecting a lot about the past year, and though it was full of difficulty, there were also many pearls. Signs of Spring help me to focus on those.
To create my card, I used Uniko's Originally Organic stamps and dies. I heat embossed the images with white EP on heavy weight vellum and die cut them. I randomly inked a script background stamp with VersaMark and white heat embossed it on Kraft card stock. I then applied splatters of Copic Opaque White Pigment with a paint brush. Once that was dry, I glued the floral and sentiment die cuts to the Kraft panel and adhered it to a white card base. Happy Birthday, Uniko, and Happy Spring!

How lovely to see you guesting at Uniko Stephanie! And what a beauty you have created. I love the Organic flowers image in vellum especially against that script and splatter background you created on the kraft card stock. Your positive outlook is wonderful. Sparks of hope can be fanned into into a good blaze! Vicky x

ReplyDeleteThanks for being our GD this time and for the lovely comments Stephanie, and apologies for not being here earlier! Love the white embossing on vellum against the kraft and the matching text and splatter gives it depth.
ReplyDeleteWe too have had a few welcome warm spring days but the thermometer is about to plummet as we get caught by an Arctic blast, worried about my tomato and pepper plants in the greenhouse! :)
