Student Drivers

I have 16 year old twin boys. They are wonderful people, great company, smart, funny, kind and many other great things. They just got their driving permits. I picked the permits up on Thursday evening, and left them at the breakfast table for them to see on Friday morning. I put this card together for each of them. The color of the VW Bug on this card, is the same color of the car that they just got as a GIFT from their grandmother who has recently stopped driving.  Now they can go for a SPIN whenever my husband or I can take them out for practice.

My how time does fly. We just taught them how to ride a bike, it seems...  The current ATCAS and the CASology Cue are perfect fits for my card.

Thank you so much for coming by today. Birds are chirping despite the cold... Spring is on the way!

  1. Your card caught my eye immediately because I also have a 16 year old who is learning to drive. In CA, you can get your permit at 15 1/2 and drive as early as 16 with a provisional license. My daughter is set to take her driving test SOON, and I was just thinking that I needed to have a card ready for the big day. I absolutely adore this CAS beauty--it is so perfect and to the point, and who would not like their very own punch buggy to celebrate that big day. Fantastic interpretation of spin. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.

  4. Very clever take on the Code Word! Love your CAS design and I love the VW Beetle...Looks just like the one I had in 1970! I'll bet your boys loved it, too!

  8. Wow, your card strikes a chord with me (and apparently Joyce, too!)...I also have a 16-year-old son who is set to take his driver's test in April! We are actively searching for a safe used car...how can it be? I love the VW and the banner of stars, what a perfect card for your twins! Thanks for joining us at CASology this week!

  9. What a milestone! It's actually one that I'm a bit nervous about with three boys & a girl! Thankfully, we have a few years to prepare ourselves yet... ;)

This is such a cute card and I love the silver with the color you chose for the car. I've always loved that particular stamp set and now I'm going to have to go dig it out and make something with it...it's been a while!

Thanks so much for joining us over at CASology!

  10. Sixteen year old twins? How fun is that, not only now but during the journey, so far, of their growing up and the journey yet to unfold. They will absolutely adore their VW cards...and the permits...and the opportunity for independence. Kids: they grow up way toooo fast, as evidenced by the recent celebration of my now 6 niece and soon-to-be 4 year old nephew. Hope your boys enjoy driving immensely (and safely)...
    Hugs~c
