One Layer and Stencils

It's time for a new challenge at Less Is More. This time the theme is a one lsyer card using stencils. Just remember that there must be lots of clean white space on your card.

Our wonderful sponsor for the month of August is Funky Fossil Designs. The shop's owner, Sarah Gray, is a wonderful artist and former Desigh Team Member of Less Is More! Check out Sarah's Folksy shop for a wonderful selection of stencils, cards and gifts. Your creative juices are sure to flow. Play with us for a chance to win some fabulous stencils from Sara's store.

For my first card, I masked a rectangle using a stencil from A Colorful Life Designs Marvelous Masks Rectangles. I placed the Simon Says Stamp Circular Lace stencil in the aperture, and sprayed with three shades of pink Color Shine Spray from Heidi Swapp. I then stamped the sentiment from Concord and 9th's Being Classy stamp set in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.

For my second card, I stenciled these wonderful crabs with Carta Bella's Crab Crawl stencil using three shades of Distress Oxide ink. I could have sworn I had a sentiment somewhere that said "Im sorry I was crabby". I spent an inordinate amount of time digging through my out of control stash for that stamp to no avail. I thought this sentiment from Ranger Dylusions Quote Bubble set was perfect.

Challenge Entries:

AAA #146 - Made in minutes + optional twist of summer. (Blue crabs are a staple summer food for seafood lovers here in New Jersey!)

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations and have chance to win. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple.

To be eligible for showCASe and PRIZE WINNER choices you will need to carefully follow the guidance on our GLOSSARY OF TERMS and our HOW TO PLAY pages. Your design should feature lots of clean / white / blank / non patterned / non textured space. All challenge details are on the Less Is More blog. Good Luck!

It must have been so frustrating not to find it after all that searching …. I know that feeling only too well! Thank you for playing along with AAA Cards ‘Made in Minutes’ challenge!

Beautiful ink blending on the crabs, too...I love how you created a gradation of colors and how they fade out around the edges...Another really clever sentiment, too! I know how it goes with an out of control stash...wish there was an easier way to organize it all :) Great job with your stencils, my friend!!!
