Tag You're It! Thank You

When I saw the inspiration for Tag You're It Challenge #25 today, this wonderful Newsprint Tulip stamp from Hero Arts came to mind, and I knew just what to do. I changed the color scheme, but kept the elements of the script on the flower, the sponging, the thread nest and the sentiment on die cut. I used Cameo Coral and Always Artichoke ink for the flowers and stems, and Ranger Antique Linen to sponge around the edges.  The sentiment is from a very old SU stamp set called Short & Sweet, and it is embossed with Zing Aqua Embossing Powder. I am pleased with the result. The photographing made me very cranky. If anyone has some tips on photographing flat things, please let me know!

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  Your comments bring me much joy. Have a great day!

  1. Stephanie, your tag is beautiful! I love that you thought of the print tulips, and the colors are gorgeous! I will watch this post to see if you get any photo tips because I could really use them too! One thing I've done is prop something behind that is small and can't be seen, but that's not an option with the shape of your tag. Another thing I've done is put temporary tape on the back, and stuck the tag on a propped up background.

  2. Oh my, Stephanie, what a lovely tag you've created! Newsprint flowers? Gorgeous! The soft background, the looped thread and the sentiment are the perfect accessories. Love this! Yes, propping up tags makes me cranky, too (as does the reality that I don't have a decent place to photograph anything! Grrr...lottery tickets in the hopes of winning a dream home...). My tag was propped up by a pine cone (I love pine cones and have a collection from special places...silly, right?). That's also why, in time, you'll see me making tag cards...at least they'll 'pose' a bit better! And I'm so thrilled to say: Thank you for sharing this gem in the Tag, You're It gallery!

  5. This is such a gorgeous tag. Love the way you were able to ink up that stamp in multiple colors. As for photographing tags--I usually either prop it up against a vertical surface, or put a spool behind. I have never had as good results as you have here taking a picture of something flat.

  6. I can see why you chose those tulips. What a beautiful stamp... made into a beautiful tag :)
Love how all of those gorgeous colours work together so well...
As for your photo dilemma... We've all been there! if the issue is that you want a 'squarer picture' (as in width at top similar to width at bottom) try holding your camera further up towards the top of the tag and then adjusting the angle so that it's pointing down towards the bottom just a little. Works for me... but never spot on :)
Thanks for joining us over at Tag You're It :)
