Beachy Thank You

I needed a simple thank you card with a beach theme that I could easily duplicate.  After going through my beach stash, I broke out my NBUS Echo Park Starfish 6x6 stencil and inked it up with Abandoned Coral and Dried Marigold DO Inks. I stamped the Picket Fence Thank You sentiment, added a popped up Adirondack Chair stamp and die from the June 2018 MMH kit, and my card was complete.

Beach Please!

Less Is More Challenge #448 begins today. We are challenged to CASe Design Team Member Elaine's card below.  As it is Elaine's birthday when the post goes live, she has been charged with giving us a card to CASe.

I took some thinking for me to come up with a plan for this one. I settled on a very old stamp by Outline Stamp Company. I stamped the image with VersaClaire black ink and embossed it with WOW clear EP. I colored the images with COPICS, cut them out and arranged them on a 5 1/4" square card base. I added the wonderful sentiment by Impression Obsession, and my card was complete.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple. See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

I'll Be By Your Side

It's time for a new challenge at Festive Friday where every challenge is an inspiration list based on a selected holiday/festivity from the traditional to the unusual. Challenge projects must include at least three items from the festivity inspiration list.

Since the Inspiration List is a mix of elements related to the festivity, the creator has the choice to make something for that festivity, or to ignore the festivity all together and create something just using three (or more) elements selected.

Today's festivities are in celebration of National Lighthouse Day, which takes place on August 7th.  The challenge runs from  July 23rd - August 2nd.

I like to create a card for our challenge that goes with the celebration theme. I have always loved the sight, the history and the stories of lighthouses everywhere. I live on the east coast of the US, and my state has 18 lighthouses.  Every year, there is an event called The Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey that takes place on the third weekend of October. The challenge is to visit 10 land based lighthouses, 3 lifesaving stations, 1 museum and 1 virtual site over the two day weekend.  One of the lighthouses is Barnegat Light. We are blessed to have a shore house there, and I can visit "Old Barney" any time we are there. It is a magical sight.

I used a variety of products to create my lighthouse themed card. Supplies are listed below. I used red, blue, water and lighthouse from the inspo list.

Come play with us! Remember that your project does not have to go with the challenge theme. You can just use 3 or more items from the Inspo List for your creation!
For more inspiration, be sure to visit the rest of the  Festive Friday Challenge Design team.

STAMPlorations Throwback Thursday - July 2021 - Inspired by Deepti Malik Blossom Sprays Stamp Series

Hello and Happy Thursday! I am thrilled to be here today with my second of three Guest Designer posts for Throwback Thursday at STAMPlorations. Throwback Thursday is a sharing of 3 new projects inspired by a previous STAMPlorations project made by either the featured designer or another STAMPlorations designer. Every month, one lucky crafter is drawn from all of the comments left on the Throwback Thursday post, as well as from the featured designer's blog, to win a $15.00 gift code to use at the STAMPlorations Store. Be sure to comment on this post for a chance at a $15 prize code. If you comment on the Throwback Thursday post on the STAMPlorations blog, you have another change to win a gift voucher.

My Throwback inspiration is this gorgeous card created by Deepti Malik with one of her stamps from the Blossoms Sprays Series in her dee's ARTST IMPRESSIONS line which includes Blossom Sprays #1Blossom Sprays #2 and Blossom Sprays #3

Deepti used the Spotlight Technique with Blossom Sprays #3.
Here is how Deepti inspired me:

My TBT Project #1:
I used the same stamp and technique that Deepti used. I stamped the floral image on kraft card stock and white heat embossed it. I repeated that process on white card stock, colored a few pieces of the image with Copics, fussy cut them out, and popped them up with foam tape. I scored around the perimeter and added a sentiment from Dee's Beautiful You Clear Stamp Set.

Project #2:
For this card, I stamped Blossom Sprays #2 with my MISTI on Neenah Solar White 110# card stock leaving the floral stamp in place. I also used my mini MISTI to stamp the sentiment from dee's Beautiful You Stamp Set on 1/4" strips of colored card stack and glued them down. I When the strips were in place, I put the card back in my MISTI, masked above and below the stripes to avoid line up issues, and and stamped the floral image again. I added some flat silver dots to jazz it up a bit. I love the way this turned out.

Project #3
This is made with Blossom Sprays #1. It is stamped with VersaFine ink on a watercolor panel created with Distress Oxide Inks, then heat embossed with clear EP. The sentiment is from a retired STAMPlorations set called For The Birds. I added some enamel dots and my project was complete.

Please be sure to visit the Throwback Thursday Post at STAMPlorations. Leave a comment for a chance to win a gift voucher. Leave a comment on my blog for another chance to win.

Time Out Challenge 192 begins today, We are challenged to create a card with the theme of HUNGRY.

Everything Hungry-related goes: you could think outside the box too and be, for example, hungry for life, love or fame, etc.

Our wonderful sponsor is Lawn Fawn with a $25 voucher for our winner, chosen by the Design Team.

Our winner also will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer in a future challenge. Play along with us  for a chance to join our amazing Design Team as a Guest Designer and then have a blast shopping at Lawn Fawn with your prize voucher!

Our Guest Designer for this challenge is one of our regular players - the ever so talented Claire Apostoloff of Life on the Scrap Heap and winner of Time Out Challenge #189.

For my card, I went straight to food, and chose Guac On Stamps and Dies by Julie Ebersole for Essentials By Ellen Clear Stamps. I just love these fun and happy little avos. I found this wonderful background panel in my snippet box that I had saved from a commercial greeting card that I had received. It was the perfect stage for my avos... those circled flowers remind me of limes - the prefect compliment for avocados. So I upcycled it and added it to my card. You can't see in the photo, but the background is all glittery and sparkly. I imagine my avos are doing a happy dance, a bow and/or a congratulatory nod to each other for a job well done. I can't wait for the perfect occasion to use this card. I love it!

Please hop on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog to see the wonderful creations that Claire and the Design Team came up with to inspire you. Come play with us!

Happy Christmas

Christmas in July is everywhere! Maybe it's me, but I feel like it is extra everywhere this year! That being said, I was inspired to dig through my Christmas stash and came upon this wonderful old Happy Little Stampers set called Merry Kissmas. It's perfect for a super CAS Christmas make. I colored it with Copics and added a good slather of clear Wink Of Stella. I then paired it with a tiny sentiment from Simon Says Stamp's Tiny Words Christmas, die cut the design and sentient with a 2" square die, popped it up with fun foam and my card was complete.

Sweet Season

Less Is More Challenge #447 begins today. We are challenged to make a card for Christmas In July!

I bought some Christmas stash very late in the 2020 Pre-Season, and of course I didn't use any of it in time for Christmas. I was anxious to get some of it out and start on some cards before December 2021 shows up! This very simple card is a Mini-Slimline size 3 1/2 x 6. I just love the size. It has taken me a while to warm up to the slimline craze, but I am getting there. I cut the base from Neenah Solar white 110# card stock. The scalloped panel was cut with a regular slimline die, then placed back in the die and cut again to get it to be the right length for a mini.

The solid candy canes were cut with red foil card stock, and the white layer was cut from white glitter paper. They are popped up with foam tape. The silver hangers were cut with adhesive backed silver paper. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with clear Embossing Powder.

Please head over to the Less Is More Blog and see what the Design Team has created for your inspiration. I hope you'll play along with us to share your creations. Remember to keep your design Clean And Simple. See challenge guidelines on the Less Is More Blog.

Thanks A Bunch

I really wanted to play this challenge and do the twist, and I'm happy that I was able to swoop in a the end and join the festivities. I masked the top and used a three layer stencil from Pretty Pink Posh. I masked again to create the blue stripe with DO ink, then added a cheeky monkey from the MFT stamp and die set of the same name. The sentiment is also from that set. Monkey is colored with Copics and popped up with Dimensionals.
